I’m retired live in Australia … love France and think what you are doing for students is a great idea! I enjoy watching so sorry a bout loss of your job, but as you well know when God is in it he makes the way! I moved from Texas to Australia 36 yrs ago after obtaining my Masters in Education from seminary. God was in it and has done some amazing things. Blessings on your continued ministry!🙏💕😊

Rob, I’m really sorry your job at the college was eliminated. Your attitude is amazing and one to be admired. I lost my role of 25 years with a company almost 6 years ago and recently I found myself (without thinking) referring to it as being “kicked to the curb”. While it is very true that is how I was treated, I realized almost immediately after I said those words out loud that it didn’t reflect well on me. And, in fact I am in a much better place (not financially but in every other way) than I would be if I had stayed there. I hope all of your hopes and dreams come true when living in France almost full time.
I’m a firm believer in one door closes another will open. Our plan is not always God’s plan. There is an exciting time ahead. A wise person once told me in a really hard time that there is a light at the end of every tunnel, we just don’t always know how long the tunnel is. Look forward to you finding that light. 🇨🇦❤️

Just as God opened the door for your ministry to expand, all these troubles come rushing in. It sounds like spiritual warfare, Rob and Leslie. Our God is bigger than this battle... He led you to this ministry and He will shepherd you through. That isn't just Christianese pablum.
The beauty of the challenges is that you cannot solve all of it in your strength. But GOD! But GOD has a plan, to lead you one step at a time so that HE gets all the glory. Thank you both for being willing to walk in the uncomfortable places and let Him show you the way.

Hi Rob. Thank you for another wonderful video. You and Leslie are both a blessing. We have no doubt that God will bless you abundantly, more than you can think or ask. I was watching a RUclips video that popped up on my feed the other day. Anyway, it’s called French Farmhouse Diaries. The title of the video is called Cometh The Timbers. Long story short, they live in France and he gets his lumber directly from a mill I believe, and cut to order. He says for half the price of the lumber yard. Anyway, I don’t know how to link it, but figured you could find it and possibly connect with him and who knows, maybe you too can find that saw mill there in France. Hi Rob & Leslie, really think that instead of going through a carpenter, you should find someone or a company that can re-create it in a weather resistant product that is likely have to weight of the original.

Praying for you both as you walk in the new path with God’s leading. Out of the box idea, but look into 3D printing a good part of the cupola. Less weight, long life. Save the actual cupola and place where it can be seen and enjoyed as part of the history.

Lord turned the storm into a blessing! Now you saved your roof from damage and can repair what you took down fix. Forgot name of it. When a door shuts God has doors open for you that know one can shut!!

There is a reason for everything. I think you needed the push but because of your fear and commitment to Multnomah, who knows how long you would have hung on. I feel you are meant to be in France full time with the students who come for learning, growth and fellowship. You both are providing a wonderful ministry.
My father went to Trinity Western 😊❤. I think this is exactly what is meant to happen. Now that you're over there almost full time this will flourish, and likely you will find more energy and fulfillment because your mindset and living situation won't be divided. This first part was necessary to get things going, but I fully believe that God has said "Good job guys, you're on the right track, time to take it up a notch and fully commit." Finances will start to go smoothly soon enough.
For a carpenter, everyone is going to tell you to use the gentleman who works with Beau Chateau and he's probably lovely. Can't remember his name but if he's unavailable, talk to Ash and Terry at the Chateau de Lalacalle on the Journey to the Chateau channel. They have an excellent woodworker as well.

I don't think it's a stretch to say it's a miracle the cupola didn't fall long ago. The condition is shocking. You're so blessed!

Life can be a lot to deal with, but I love your attitude about it. I love watching the ministry that you have. My husband currently pastors in a rural area of southern MO, but we spent 10 years in full time youth ministry & I'm a mother of young adults now. Your ministry is such a wonderful opportunity for young people & I'm so glad you are trusting in God through this. I pray that your ministry is blessed beyond your imagination!

All I see are some doors opening for you and some doors closing. All those challenges you mentioned are sometimes intimidating, but living in the chateau full-time will bring with it answers and doors opening to more opportunities and growth. Think expansion. Watch it grow. Your help comes from the Lord. Watch how He brings in everything thing you need for this work. "You ain't seen nothin', yet" just comes to mind. Have you tried gea-assurances for the chateau insurance? Our old company only gave us a couple of months' notice that they would not renew our policy and zero explanation. If you are interested, let me know, and I'll give you the person's contact details. Expensive but the cover is excellent

You were meant to be in France and open that home to more students. Traveling in Europe is such a gift. Absorbing its history and beauty with like minded youth is rare. We lived in Germany and raised our 3 sons there for 6 yrs. Besides the traveling they did with us. They also traveled with their Boy Scout troop and sport teams. That experience I truly believe has made them the young men they are today.
Rob, you are a lovely person. There is no need to stress about taking a salary and time off. You are only human.❤❤❤

IMHO the cupola(s) interfered with the roofline but would look GREAT on the restored stable roof! Also, have you considered running 3 shorter (and maybe less expensive) sessions now that you'll be in France all year? Hearing your inspiring life story I know this chapter will turn out positively with unforseen benefits for everyone. 🥰🙏❤
You sometimes just have to accept that when our plans don't work out, that perhaps a better thing is coming.

Rob, remember how you and Leslie knew your roof was doomed and you had a specialist come out and tell you how bad it was? Remember how you were shocked at how much it was going to cost? Remember how you needed equipment because the stuff you had stopped working or fell apart? Remember how the London bathroom didn't go according to plan and you had to start over with the walls? Tribulations make you strong. God is *always* faithful! He has never failed you yet. He turns troubles to good to keep you humble and grateful. You guys got this! You have hordes of supporters out here and we will be a strong refuge of comfort for you. Regular weekly videos will help you enormously. Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and our strength, he is an ever-present help in time of trouble. Have faith brother, God will see you through. ❤️📖

I found your channel by way of the other chateau channels, not because of the ministry. Some of the channels do really well, and some don't, in my opinion, that's mostly got to do with personalities. Your personalities are dynamic and inspiring, and I so appreciate your work ethic and the care you have for your students and the chateau. I'd like to suggest reaching out to the other English speaking chateau owners on RUclips, big and small channels. Not only are they a wonderful resource for general information, but the cross-promotion of appearing on another channel could give your subscribers a significant bump. Some extra income, and making friends within your community sounds like a double bonus! Best of luck in your new chapter, I will be watching for what comes next!
You are on the right track, God will lead just continue to follow. They have volunteer programs in France/Europe where the volunteers do important menial tasks, work along side of you in renovation, ground care. Some have their own campers, etc. You are going to be able to do amazing things!!!

It’s architecturally educational about French building techniques over the last couple of centuries. They’re project is enormous and should never be compared to yours but I think you would both find it interesting to watch.
