Now that you mention it, I do find it weird that Matty was never told that he had the right to remain silent.
I mean, a Reality Police that declares a prepubescent kid guilty for immature rebellion in a semi-dysfunctional family isn't exactly gonna bother with fairness.
Interesting fact, not having your rights read to you does not require your case to be dismissed. All that happens is the cop might get in a little trouble, then continue about his business relatively unaffected.

@@fraziercrawfordI used to be a big crybaby as a young kid and was scared by everything, but then my dad just told me a story one night that when he was 4 years old he watched a lot of Looney toons and other cartoons that had zeppelins in them. He said one morning his sister (only 2 years older) saw a blimp and cried to their parents about them about to get bombed, so my grandparents took them to the nearby airport to show them the blimps and explain the importance of not taking stories too seriously (and then banned me from watching spooky content until I could confidently handle it)
Unfortunately he only taught me that the true horrors are within the world around me, not in stories.

I like how Don Cherry is basically just being himself as the hockey coach and actually fits in with with the god awful writing of the show.

Gotta love that they butchered that episode so badly that the title doesn't even make sense anymore.
For those that don't know, the plot of "Don't Go To Sleep" in the book was that the kid merged with a reality tear by sleeping in that old bed and every time he falls asleep reality itself gets twisted more and more. The reality police wanted to kill him before reality becomes completely unraveled and he decides that the only way to end it is to sleep in the old bed again to hopefully reverse the process.
The episode was just like "whatever, he's reality hopping right? We'll just do a twist at the end where it looks like it was all a dream and then he gets attacked for no reason!"

It was my first goosebumps book. I was ten, and I got hella nightmares from it.

I remember they defeat him only because he was allergic to humans and died when he tried to bite the girl.

I always found goosebumps always using different actors in each episode made sense as the books star different characters in each one
Only goosebumps story I remember is a werewolf one where a werewolf sheds their wolf skin when they turn back Into a human. The two main characters use these as suits to distract the actual werewolves only for the main character to find an unused skin and reveals that their friend was actually a werewolf.

Essentially, at the bottom of some pages, you are given a choice, and you flip to a certain page based on said choice. and the story can change drastically branch off into many different endings depending on what choice you make, some good, some bad. And example would be “you walk up to a sketchy looking salesman, he has only two things that he’s selling, and you can only afford one. The first is a beautifully crafted necklace that is said to grant eternal youth , and the other is a rabbits foot that the salesman says will eventually grant whoever has it infinite wealth. If you choose to buy the necklace, turn to page 72. If you choose to buy the rabbits foot, turn to page 35. If you choose to buy nothing, and leave, turn to page 28”
