Elvis Presley was the first big superstar to hire black musicians and make them a central part of his show. He even helped the Imperials hire the first black gospel singer in mainstream southern gospel music. And famously, when the Houston Astrodome told Elvis, he could not bring the sweet inspirations which are the three black women you see in this video Elvis told them that they must not only be allowed to bring this sweet inspirations, but that they must be treated with the utmost of respect just like he was being treated. And if they had a problem with that, then he would not perform there. Elvis helped to end racism in the music industry and music venues throughout the United States.
there is not a day that goes by that i don't think of him and all the memories we made in 10 short years, his death knocked the wind out of me i have never been the same since, Elvis was the big brother i never had. He is also my guardian angel. Graceland is my go to place when it get's to hard to live w/o my friend i go there and walk around and remember Elvis and all the beautiful times we had together. He was the only person in my life that understood me and i understood him we cared about each other faults and all. What it comes down to is we both needed a friend and we were that for each other. Awesome reaction. i have spent my entire adult life speaking out to people that try and judge a beautiful soul that is not here to defend himself. as long as i have breath in my lungs no one i mean no one will disrespect him period.
