great video, Mick ! I'm a retired correctional officer. i renewed my ccw in march 2022. it's good until 2027 ! I've been carrying for 20 years plus now !!!
Were you able to buy off roster guns if so how did that work comepared to normal person that doesn't have exempt and say if after few months you wanted to sell gun how can you legally sell an off roster gun ?
Unfortunately my agency only has a 1 year CCW. They also have the same rules regarding a 90 day period to renew. Meaning at month 9, we need to renew, do 4 hour training course and pay renewal & training fees. Every. Single. Year. My agency is doing everything they can do prevent us from carrying with extremely high fees and short ccw durations.
@@aliquran7535 yes during the class some people are asked to test for another CCW. I believe it is Utah. Also Arizona recognizes California CCWs when traveling in their state.
@@FRESHFROMTHERANGE how’s was your experience with Greg? And how is the training process!? You should make a video explicitly talking about the training class!
@@Meaty_taco Good experience with Greg. I am not able to speak completely about testing practices. Due to different Instructors have different areas they focus on but a big one he did go over is watch the LAW. Changes have been happening so drastically with everything. It is now that the classes anyone takes may not be enough law within the two years of renewal. Personal research now is needed constantly.
Great video! I have a question if you can help me out. My expiration date is on July 17th and I just submitted my renewal application today on June 24th. What would happen if I don't receive a call or approval by my expiration date ?
Beginning of vid I state there should be a leeway of 90 to 120 days. This allows for a non interrupted carry time. What will happen is if you do not receive a call or approval and your license expires you cannot carry with expired license but because put your renewal forth they should get to you in a timely manner quicker than a first time CCW application.
@FRESHFROMTHERANGE Okay perfect thank you for responding! I was just worried if I didn't get an approval before the expiration I will then have to start all over with a new application. Thank you for clarifying that! Los Angeles County makes it very confusing
when you did your re-application process and did the qualification, did the instructor require to have magazines that can hold only 10 rounds. I have a glock 19 and 12 round magazines to go with it.
Hey, can you go more in depth on what paperwork you need because it asks for a Judicial Credentials (CalBar License) and I’m not sure what that is and mean I already have my license and I never had to show that

2 yrs ccw is unconstitutional while other pro 2A states are 5yrs or even longer. Ca is just trying to make more money and make it a hassle to renew a ccw. If we win the lawsuit where Ca is forced to honor out of state ccws then I could carry with my AZ ccw permit in Ca which renewal is 5 yrs.

You can get an off roster firearm by doing a private sale
@bignak007 so if I become LEO which are exempt from CA roster and buy some off roster handguns I could legally sell them through private sale

Good luck in Alameda county. One person who applied in July of 2022 just had his psych eval!
That is insane. Had no idea. I have heard some wait times but that is crazy

Sadly no. 10 rounds California legal mags. I carry an extra mag at times.
Sounds cheaper and more constitutional to just move to Texas.
