Would anyone be interested in plans? Though I can't guarantee that I can make some in the near future. And everyone: please watch the whole video before commenting
Wow! One of those would have been handy during my move. Now thinking about building one, but I'm not sure I have enough need for one compared to the time it takes to build one!
Don't know why people give you a thumbs down, I thought that you did an a amazing job on it and you did a fantastic job on detail. I am a perfectionist and for the time it took, yes having the right tools helps, it is perfect. I enjoyed watching, hope to see more. Thanks Clyde.
One of the best designed, engineered, explained and executed projects I've seen on YT! Impressive build and functionality. I truly admire your machining skills, well done!
Because you can earn enough money working part time in a fast food place for a few days to buy a better one, and also have money left over. Get real....
I'm impressed by your efficient small shop, and the lifting table in particular. We all would be happy with more space, but it's nice to see folks making the best of what they have. Keep up the good work, thanks for sharing!
Young Man, for somebody being as young as you are, and yet, having the skills that you have, I commend you for the experience that you already have at such a young age! God definitely blessed you with a great brain, and the body and skills to go with it! If you find a young lady, and get married, she'll definitely have a very special and smart husband to be with! Your skills are, generally speaking, far above the skill levels of some of the young people in my Nation (I live in the United States), and I again applaud your skills and workmanship! Keep on this path in life-it's encouraging to see a good population of our youth worldwide learn the skills that they need to do the many things that can be done, and also come up with new ideas!
When this video started with 2.5 minutes of Marius bragging, I thought, "wow, this is going to be good" and I was RIGHT. When he put the set square on and the top and bottom frames lined up perfectly, I cried tears of joy. I also loved how he used the table to help build itself.
Beautiful piece! And very impressive strength. One suggestion: When you made the template for the scissor arms, since you needed the ends equal distance from the center, you could have made a one-ended template instead of a two-ended template. Clamp, drill center and one end, then put a bushing in the center and rotate it to drill the opposite end.
Dude, at the beginning of every vid I'm like what?! That's stupid! That's not going to work...2 hours and 20 vids later...I'm so going to start working with wood. Awsome job man, you truelly make an art seem easy
Started watching this video, and thought "yet another kid showing off his father's workshop, and assembling pre-machined parts". Well, after one minute in-video, I was pleasantly surprised with the level of your skill, knowledge, and resolving in-build quirks. Knowledge you have, needed to work with those machines, puts you in grade of expert craftsman. Little things are that count, and with you it is your attention to details. This was not long video, I enjoyed watching it. My hat's off to you, sir.
I think you can be the next gen Mathias-Heisz woodworker. Thats why we can all tolerate a decrease of videos frequency, untill you get a bigger shop. But than again, by than, you might be a whole other person, not worse but more mature. We aplaude you Marius.
Marius, I don't know where you got to in responding to people below, including the requests for plans... Given the incredible popularity of this video (4 million, and counting at this point), you could easily seize this as a business opportunity. More than just the plans -- although that's a great start -- but also selling a hardware kit where you provide the complete specialized set of parts all cut to final lengths and machined to a ready state. As you mentioned in the video, even you had challenges sourcing all of the necessary parts, so you can imagine that for those of us who mostly identify as woodworkers, it will be a lot more challenging and time consuming. If you do this, be sure to edit your text above to inform viewers of this, and also do a short followup video where you talk about your parts package and plans, and show how it all works. Your cleverness deserves to be rewarded with more than just thumbs up and views. Cheers.
I started getting a scam ad on my Facebook feed that made me search out the construction if a lift table. Believe it or not there is a company using this very video to sell lift tables. I’m glad I saw this video before I tried to buy the product. Great idea and a great video Marius.
Great project Marius, and a project that used alot of the tools in the shop. Makes for a great video with a fantastic table lift at the end of it. Good job!
Excellent workmanship of perfection and engineering. Lot of calculations and right choice of hardware is the key to make usefull stuff. My congratulations to this young man !!!!!! GOPAL DAGA, CAlCUTTA, INDIA
I have to build two lifts for my tool bench. The planer and jointer disappear into the table. This has been an awesome tutorial. Thank you, it answered all my questions.
I cannot begin to tell you how impressed I am with both your skills and your patience. I don’t know your age but it’s quite impressive how well you know your craft. There is an extreme amount of precision with your build and how u dealt and shown your approach was incredible. Well done, it was a pleasure to watch the video... yes I watched the whole video without fast forwarding at all! Take care
I appreciate accurate precise work. You had to take your time and for that to be young is an asset. Setting up the camera and editing must have taken half of the time you put in. I am in steel work, still value yours, keep it up.
Some of these comments are really annoying. Picking on stupid little things in the video like video production is his full time job. Lighten up people and enjoy the skilled workmanship, after all that is the point of the video not how to make the perfect video. There are videos out there a thousand times worse with music so loud it drowns out the speaking, or presented in such monotone ways it puts you to sleep. The videos are very easy to watch to the end so build a bridge and get over your petty intolerances.
I held off for a day when this video came out cause I knew I wanted the time and headspace to watch this with the attention it deserved. I was not disappointed.
And while I believe everyone is entitled to a fairly expressed opinion, the flip side of that is why should I bother taking my time and effort making videos for ingrates? People think that because there is a degree of anonymity on YT comments, it entitles them to write stupid comments when they couldn't do better themselves. There is also a saying... Put up or shut up. Think it applies just as equally.
Anyone who has ever done video knows how long it takes (anything like 1 hour of shooting to 10 hours of editing). So a massive effort here just in the video aside from these fascinating projects. Great job. To the rest - yes put up or shut up!
All of your projects are great and worth looking at but also to construct if you need to. Between you and Matthias the suggestion are extremely valuable and constructive. Great job thank you
Marius, this lift opens up new possibilities for shops with limited space. My shop is 19'x20' (5.9x6 meters) interior dimensions but I have a lot of tools and machines. I had been thinking of building a table with a rotating top for the sander, grinder and drill press. A flip table would accommodate the planer and miter saw. With the lift table it would be easy to store all of the tools in vertical shelves and set the needed tools out as required. The primary function of my shop is to build radio controlled aircraft so large woodworking is a secondary function once the cabinets and workbenches have been built.
I'd have done it differently. I'd have cut each piece of wood just off square and drilled the holes with a greater degree of error, thus ensuring nothing lined up. Then I'd have frigged about for hours trying to get the unit together, only to have it fall to bits when I tried to use it to lift my 100kg table off the groud. I'd then drive down to the nearest store, buy one, scratched the labels off it and told my mates I made it.
Marius i am sure i am one of your biggest fan from today. I searched for a tutorial to build a scissor table, because I have an issue with my washing machine and I need something to lift this heavy piece of … 😃. Next project is waiting for my actions .. a sliding door for my workshop… and what should I say… I found a very cool project that fulfills my ideas on YOUR CHANNEL… amazing. Your ideas are smart like you are. Please don’t stop!!!! 😛 Can’t wait for the next ideas 💡 👍🏻
Marius Hornberger Very well done young man!!!!!!!!!! Your video is VERY detailed and and clear, with the exception of sound in different parts, which I'm sure you have corrected with a microphone of choice since making the video. Your project is AWESOME!!!!! My father who would have been old enough to be your Grandfather and my Grandpa, your great, were always making and creating like this ahead of the curve, so don't be afraid to make something that doesn't exist, or a better version of something and get it out there. You are very talented. My Grandfather, my Dad and myself would have been and are very proud for you!!!!!! I say for you and not of you, because we can't take any credit in your abilities and/or knowledge!!!! I very much enjoyed watching your entire video and watching the project come together. This was my first video of yours and being so impressed I subbed and rang the bell. You seem to be a natural craftsman, but also a teacher. You have a very informative yet calm way about you. I look forward to watching more videos!!!!!
What beautiful and ingenious work! You have done an incredible job on the fit and finish of this lifting table. I would very much like to see the plans for this even if they are just rough hand drawings! Most of us don't have your skill for designing things like this.
i just watched a 32 minutes video.......i saw it afterwards,it felt like 5 minutes, your skills in editing (and wood/metal work) are excellent! i rather watch one of your video than some stupid series on tv ! ps: sneeze in the outtakes ;gesundheid (hope i wrote that correct) , pss ;yes for the plans please!!!
Marius, great build as always. Thank you. I usually don't watch RUclips videos that are as long as this one, but I'm glad I found the time. So a year later... how is the table handling the stresses of day-to-day workshop life? Did you ever build the next one? Personally I'd love to see you do a follow-up visit to some older projects, see how well they've worked, and what you'd do differently if you started over.
You are a talented craftsman beyond your years. I am very impressed with your thoroughness and foresight to solve problems before they arise. Keep up the excellent work !!!
Firstly Welcome Back. Secondly is WOW what a fantastic build that was, it was a mixture of Engineering and Woodwork and i have to say this build must be up there with one of the best that you have done. It was so intricate with all the pieces that had to be precise and no mistakes, even though you did a couple you managed to sort it out. I don't know how or where you get these ideas from for all your builds (probably out of your head ha ha ha) , but you are one talented individual. Well Done and keep up the great work that you are doing. Barry (ENG)
This was an awesome project! I would love to have a lift like that for working on yard equipment, and small engines. As far as the metal lathe, what reasonable person would expect you to use it in the manner of a professional machinist? As far as the length of the video? When the more interesting the content, the less one notices the passage of time. One thing though, keep your fingers out of the crush zone of that lift, at all times, regardless of how much you trust the device. We don't need you changing your channel name to Marius Halfhand Hornberger.
As I was tormented, mastering the lift with a winch for hanging the kitchen top cabinets alone ... But it turns out everything could be easier and better. Thank you so much! I dragged your video into my "piggy bank".
Really great design and even better video. I have no idea why 630 grumpy people chose to show they have nothing to positive to offer. I think the 22,000+ people agree with me. GREAT VIDEO!
An addition I feel would be useful is to add a sheet over the area where the lower bearings run. That would reduce the amount of dust that collects there that could stop the height adjustment. Don't want to put something heavy on it and find it won't lower far enough because some wood chips got in the way.
Bunny Warren - I was thinking about the exposed bearings as well. Although they may cost a little more, I would have used sealed bearings. This was a well done video and an excellent project!
I wish I had all of his tools to work with, be nice when you can’t get quite the right size of metal you need to just run over to the metal lathe and make it whatever size you want! Those are not cheap machines either! Regardless he’s a smart young man with a great skill set! Wish him the best in all his future projects
Excellent stuff - great work. The only thing that had me cringing was when you were holding down the corner while lifting the drill press from the lowest setting - you had your fingers under the scissor lift...! Ouch. Other than that, I can't find fault with anything, so all the nitpickers who have commented with nitpicks need to pull their respective heads in (Aussie expression there ;) ) And that is some great machinery you have there - I'm lusting after that metal lathe (and the skill to use it).
Dr_ rock pete Ohh bag other people but it ok for you to be the safety police . Ha pull ya head out of ya arse bloke ! ! ( anouther aussie expression ) 😁
I've found, much to my dismay, that if you ever browse the comments on any video for more than a few minutes, you will always find nitpickers. And of course, they're usually people who "know" much but have done very little.
I am totally blown away. This is an awesome video. This is exactly what I want to build. I want to store my planer under my work bench when not in use and be able to raise it up to a comfortable height when using. I would love to have plans!
Thank you Marius! Awesome project and your video kept me engaged for way longer than I usually like to watch videos like this. Now if only I had a shop like that.
Great Job, Marius, thanks for sharing. Good to see young fellows, as yourself doing precise, high skilled work. Your father must be proud of you. Keep up the good work!
That would be helpful. I have looked for a similar project and you have done a great job of designing and building. You showed skill in assembly, design and function!
Very nice work young man! You are a brilliant craftsman, you will have a bright future ahead of you. Most people your age have little interest in doing anything that doesn't involve screen time, let alone being such a skilled builder. Well done!
I need this to transport an elderly man in wheelchair to lift him up to car ,he has no use of his legs , I have to carry and he is heavy , this is manual and I can lift him and pull him on to the seat ...
A lot of viewers requesting plans. It's now 5 years since this video was posted. I would gladly pay $50 USD for a set of plans. I do not have such nice equipment as yours, but I do have a 3 x 5 foot CNC which can do most of the work. Keep the videos coming. I really enjoy watching and learning from you.
Witam !!Bardzo dobrze wykonany podnosnik, dobry pomysl ciekawie zrobiony, duza wiedza i duzo czasu pracy w jego wykonanie!!Prima!!Tak Trzymac!!Dobry material filmowy!!
Would anyone be interested in plans? Though I can't guarantee that I can make some in the near future.
And everyone: please watch the whole video before commenting
Yes please, this is an awesome build.
Marius Hornberger if you want to make plans that woud bi awsome👍
Marius Hornberger Unglaublich, was man alles schaffen kann wenn man will👍👍👍
Pläne wären super
Lg, Alex
That would be a great idea, i can see this in my shop
Marius Hornberger ja klar mann. das wäre echt geil
Wow! One of those would have been handy during my move. Now thinking about building one, but I'm not sure I have enough need for one compared to the time it takes to build one!
I can only recommend building one. For me/ us it already came in handy inside and outside the shop. Without filming you could do it in 3-5 days
Grosses Lob von Matthias. Kann nicht jeder Holzwerker aus Deutschland von sich behaupten.
Yes build one! I'm always surprised what you can make from scrap materials. and another shelf build is not that fun to watch.
make one to replace scaffold :)
Ernst van Spronsen Everything Matthias does is fun to watch, but yes I would love to see him build one too.
Tremendous attention to detail in this build! And this was definitely the shortest half-hour-long video I've ever watched ;-)
Thanks, Jeremy!

Goes to show, every house needs a metal lathe.
Nice Build!
Right?! I'm in total jaw-drop mode, it's sooooooo niiiiice!!!!
I'm impressed by your efficient small shop, and the lifting table in particular.

Definitely your best and most interesting design and build yet, which says a lot.
I am very impressed with this young man. I am in my sixty's and I couldn't have done a better job. Great job!
Amazing work Marius! It's wonderful to see your incredible attention to detail! You are genuine and an awesome craftsman - thank you!
Me too
Please report it as scam. That's the best we can do
Will do Marius!
This has got to be some of the most precise wood working I have ever seen in my life... Nice job!
watch Matthias Wandel he gets very precise :)
Great project Marius, and a project that used alot of the tools in the shop. Makes for a great video with a fantastic table lift at the end of it. Good job!
Excellent workmanship of perfection and engineering. Lot of calculations and right choice of hardware is the key to make usefull stuff.

One thumbs up is simply not enough!
I am not sure what I am more envious about, that beautiful and highly practical lifting table or your workshop !!

This is amazing. I lost track of time watching you work. Excellent job.
I'd have done it differently. I'd have cut each piece of wood just off square and drilled the holes with a greater degree of error, thus ensuring nothing lined up. Impressive! Not only very well engendered, it is solid, stable and quite useful in a small to moderate size wood shop.
Beautifully made! It looks like something you would buy and pay a lot of money to get. I am so impressed.
I would like to have plans so I can build me one of the scissors jack. Let me know if you can get me some plans. Thanks
Jimmy
Excellent stuff - great work. The only thing that had me cringing was when you were holding down the corner while lifting the drill press from the lowest setting - you had your fingers under the scissor lift...! Ouch. Other than that, I can't find fault with anything, so all the nitpickers who have commented with nitpicks need to pull their respective heads in (Aussie expression there ;) )
And that is some great machinery you have there - I'm lusting after that metal lathe (and the skill to use it).
You're an artist!
What a lot of machinery and equipment !!!!! Wow!!! Very exact and clean work, congratulations!
This is brilliant. What a great result.
Live the way you cut/edit the video.
Very convenient! Thanks for sharing!
Damn, my mouth got dry after standing open for 30 minutes.
Nice one
With your accent I was waiting on you to say “IT’S ALIVE!”
I am totally blown away. This is an awesome video. This is exactly what I want to build. I want to store my planer under my work bench when not in use and be able to raise it up to a comfortable height when using. I would love to have plans!
Top drawer all the way. A well spoken young man and a well done project. Kudos
Marius wie immer eine erstklassige Arbeit
ganz klar Daumen hoch für Bau und Ausführung

Definitely not click bait. It was indeed "worth watching."
Thanks!
I am glad you are back at making your highly detailed and interesting videos. Just wanted to say thank you.
Thank you Marius! Awesome project and your video kept me engaged for way longer than I usually like to watch videos like this. Now if only I had a shop like that.
Great functional shop project. Love it!
Two weeks, eh. Wondering how much $ in materials?
Great job, Marius!
i think ill make one out of steel . a little bit bigger so i can work on my moto bike ,
Amigao parabens muito bacana
Great Job, Marius, thanks for sharing. Good to see young fellows, as yourself doing precise, high skilled work. Your father must be proud of you. Keep up the good work!
That would be helpful. I have looked for a similar project and you have done a great job of designing and building. You showed skill in assembly, design and function!
This is a really good project!
We missed ya fella

Still would like plans just like 2 years ago :-)
Sitze hier in Australien und bin absolut begeistert. One day I’ll have a workshop like that I hope, plus the skills... Nice video!
Very sad to hear that there is someone in your family whose legs r not working.
I will pray God that he gets well soon.
The shit that comes out of people's mouths in the comments. I think your video is fine although long. It's entertaining and the tool well made.
Huu, Bohrmax.

I love wood prix plans, and you ?

Awesome!!!
Wish I could have watched more, but the scene transitions made me nauseous.
WOW thats the coolest woodworking project I have ever seen on youtube. I wish there was plans for this build.
Excellently done video. And you are a real craftsman. Thank you for sharing.
