What a gorgeous island. Canada has so many beautiful places. I can see why you love it so much. Luckily I live here. Originally I grew up in Ontario but have lived in NWT the last30 years. I loved the drone shots of the lake. That fan boat was amazing. Lucky Dan had one to give you a ride out to your island.
Hi Dan. So glad you and the family are safely back on your island. I didn’t see the fan boat coming as the solution to get there! Very cool! I am on the north channel of Lake Huron and have been watching ice flows blow east with wind all day. I’m definitely looking forward to seeing more island content!
Thank goodness for your family friend with a fan boat! Had never heard of one before, but looks like it's a nice necessity for times such as those. What an inspirational young man you are! Being self-sufficient is the BEST way to be! Your parents raised you all right! Kuddos to them! Don't be in such a hurry to get everything done, I always tell young people like yourself that there is ONE major asset that you all have. No, it's not money or any other tangible asset, it's TIME. If you use it wisely you will reap the rewards of your time used wisely 😊

Greetings from Louisiana. We use airboats both in the marsh and swamps. Just remember if you are on water and come off plane to get back on the throttle a bit so the stern wake doesn't come over stern and swamp your boat.

Yes lando definitely did not understand why we weren’t going to the island yet. As soon as he smells the air up here he gets so excited. The fan boat was a heaven sent, if our friend didn’t have one we would still be waiting at the marina!

I love solitude, spending time in the woods, with my Jeep and hiking, but find my self needing some interaction with people at some point. Do you dislike people a lot?
I love spending time with people as well as spending time in the wilderness. Luckily I have lots of cousins and friends that come up to island and I go and visit whenever I can too.
Dan this was such an exceptional homecoming back to the cabin. Your excitement was truly conveyed so much I wish I was there . Before the snowfall the cinematography of the frozen lake along with the beautiful music was majestic. I was in awe of the beauty ! I also loved the recap of your family history and how the cabins came to be , along with your purpose. I’m so proud of you and looking forward to your journey with your own cabin . You need a little small marine wood stove. They don’t take up much room and you just need small sticks to heat it up.
