At my local dealer today there were already guys in there ordering the Pursuit. I was talking to them and hearing their feedback about what they were excited about. I agree, if I get a bagger the Challenger/Pursuit is my Indian Touring model of choice. I can’t get away from the liquid cooled high rpm engines anytime soon.
I did this to my challenger, which they turned into a pursuit and added electric adjustable suspension so those of you who own challengers can build a pursuit just buy the top case and lowers I did same bike built for traveling
Cost 5,000 to turn a challenger into a pursuit bought king tour pack with electric locks and lowers it’s the same bike, I built it ,they now sell it and added a heated seat with adjustable electric suspension
I think the Indian is the best American-made touring bike on the market. However, my Honda Goldwing has all of these features plus DCT, reverse, and a double-wishbone suspension. Good job Indian, still a nice bike.
Yea... the Honda Goldwing is pretty badass no doubt. I took one (DCT) out for a test ride and I was surprise with how much fun I had! But for us who want an American motorcycle, this is the way to go! Thanks for watching!
@@RickyNotSoMartin Yes, I agree, if you want American-made, it's no competition. Indian hands down. I love the advanced features of my Goldwing though. The DCT and double wishbone suspension spoil me.
As soon as we saw the premier yesterday, scrounged through every video and Indian website info we could find. We have changed our planned ordering of a Road Master next week to the Pursuit Limited Premium. Preordered it yesterday morning.
Boricua, I totally agree with you. The Challenger/ Pursuit platform is awesome. Interesting that Indian’s best selling bikes are liquid cooled. Un dia.. 🇵🇷
Fantastic motorcycle, the Powerplus motor is such a powerfull smooth motor. Again Indian Motorcycle made the right move makeing the Pursuit. Cant wait till i can ride one and photograph/film with the amazing Indian Pursuit.
Great looking bike! Looks like MSRP is between $30-34k. More likely than not, they’ll be pushing $40k ‘out the door’ at the dealership. It’s incredible how much bike prices have gone up over the last two years! Start stacking cash for that big down payment (or save up and pay cash)!
Good review . Actually the motor is a watercooled version of the Victory 106. The forks and frame too. Theres a few pics of the early 108 on the Vic. Good move Indian . I knew they wouldn’t scrap such a great platform. Think ill buy one too!
I want to test ride a Pursuit as soon as they are on the showroom floors. When I test rode the Challenger my takeaway was they needed to make a touring version and here it is!! 😁
I built it on my challenger before they offered it as a pursuit pursuit, I felt I needed on the challenger as I road more trunk space for long trips the challenger had all the power it just needed couple of things to make it a touring bike which I put on my challenger, liquid cooled with that suspension with power for days if you get nothing else for your challenger get the king tour pack it’s a game changer on the road
Very nice! Great video, and it was nice to hear your first hand viewpoints after you actually got to ride one! That must have been fantastic to be able to ride a not released motorcycle! Also, keep after that goal of owning your own bagger, brother. I'm sure you will achieve that goal! Look forward to your upcoming give away, can't wait! Ride and stay safe down there in Big Texas!
I'm a diehard Harley owner who has owned 8 Harleys and 2 Indians. Harley better get going or they are going to be left behind. This thing is Sweat! All the technology is at the same price as a SGS.
I concur on Harley. Started on Harley's over 20 yrs ago and still own the three Harleys I bought (plus a Buell). IMO as a former Harley guy, glad I made the move to Indian with my FTR purchase; the Motor Company made bad decisions in stubbornly sticking to pleasing only one group of riders (most of those guys are in their late 60s and 70s). My wife and I were going to purchase a RM next week, but after seeing the premier yesterday and all the vids and info on the website, we built a Pursuit and are ordering one of these instead next Saturday.
I agree @lujmedw it's one of the main reasons I chose Indian Motorcycle. They evolve with the times and listen to their customers. I think we can already see HD doing some changes because they see what Indian Motorcycle is doing and how we are responding. That's why competition is always good! We all win!
@@RickyNotSoMartin Absolutely agree with that! Harley is moving in the right direction with the new Sporty and PanAm. However, I think they made the new Sporty too one dimensional and made a mistake in trying to answer the Indian FTR (a lot of guys disagree, but I am convinced they aimed for the FTR with the Sportster-S; not the Scout) with how they built the Sporty. As a Standard bike, the FTR offers more flexibility with use and performance. The Sporty is a stop light to stop light bike, which is the only area it can compete head-to-head with the FTR, IMO. Either way, I am super glad to be alive to see this old rivalry come back to life in my lifetime and to have a choice between two great American Motorcycle Companies.
I wonder if the setup is any different than just throwing a trunk on the Challenger...was really hoping the Challenger would bets its own type of trunk, more sleek than the RM, plus it cramps up the passenger with the RM trunk I’ve heard..well even if your woman isn’t ..a bit on the..well nevermind
Indian scout is shite most people sell the with 1500 kms on the clock instant buyer regret , the challenger was the pick of the bunch ! Now I am wondering what I will get on trade in on my 2020 challenger🙏🏻
It's a Challlenger with a tour pack. Not worth all the hype. Kinda like the Road Glide ST is a Road King with a $11,000 RG fairing. Smh. When are we gonna stop getting all excited over the "Taco Bell" model of building motorcycles? Same 5 ingredients, 30 different configurations - yet, we get all excited when they put put a new burrito. It's the same as the last burrito. Its a good burrito, bit its still made of the same things. The marketing teams must think we're all stupid. We're not ALL stupid. P.S. I own an Indian, owned a HD. Still not impressed with this bike. It's the like the Goldwing/F6B before Honda figured out they weren't fooling anyone and began calling them Goldwing and Goldwing Tour.
I think it’s great they are offering lower fairings, driving lights, electronic adjustable suspension and a rear trunk on what was the challenger platform. Saves a lot people time and labor, buying all of that separately and trying to put it on themselves for the same amount (nearly impossible) or paying the dealer to install it. I kinda get where you’re coming from with Harley, they have always been that way, 2 frames and three engines give or take but a Road King is not a Road Glide ST. The Spec sheet on an ST may not be worth the money to some but it’s definitely not a road king in anyway, I owned one. The Goldwing F6B sold well, a lower and lighter Goldwing with half the luggage is what some people wanted and for less than a Goldwing by a significant amount back when sales and rebates were a thing. The new ST1800, I mean Goldwing is not a Goldwing, it’s a sport tourer without a trunk. The Goldwing has had a trunk and fairings since they discontinued the standard back in 84 or 86. So yes that is a marketing ploy to sell a less equipped, lighter smaller machine under a name with a much higher standard of heritage.
@@Indian_Mikey it’s an interesting theory and 12 years ago I might have partially agreed with you especially from HD when they had 3 frames and 4 engines but 35 bikes. HD is actually offering more engines and configurations than they ever have, including categories they never even touched before. Manufacturers have always offered multiple bikes off of the same powertrain because they take millions to develop. I personally like my burrito with all the fixings but you know Joe Sixpack might only like his with cheese and beef, thankfully they manufacture both.
