    What kinds of fabrics do you recommend for baby clothes?

    • @ModelisteCreative
      @ModelisteCreative  4 года назад +1

      Jersey, and only natural fabrics such as cotton, knit fabrics are best as they are more comfortable and have natural stretch. You can use cotton jersey with a small percentage of spandex for stretch and recovery too - for babies that are crawling.

      @@PrincessofKeys I forgot to mention that organic fabrics are also popular for baby wear - if you are making non stretch garments then organic cotton is perfect as it is soft and absorbent - have fun and you can find lots more info on my blog page at www.modeliste-creative.com

    confused by your advice to use longest stitch for staystitching? it is supposed to be a shorter stitch length, to stabilize the edge and not allow stretching.

    • @creativepatterncutter
      @creativepatterncutter Год назад +1

      A short stitch on stretch fabric will cram too many stitches into the fabric structure and make it stretch too much and become wavy so for Lycra based fabric less stitches, so that means longer stitches are best.

    • @ModelisteCreative
      @ModelisteCreative  10 месяцев назад +1

      Best not to cram too many stitches into a knit fabric, very true!

  • @sophiieebabiieex

    What is this exact fabric? I’m new to sewing and get confused on fabric. I love the look of it. Is it cotton jersey, cotton Lycra, polyester etc? Am I way off?😂 Sorry I’ve really no idea but I really want this type of fabric! It looks like it feels really nice. Thankyou 😊

    • @ModelisteCreative

I would appreciate it because if I didn’t know what they are already I would be lost trying to buy them lol. So other people watching would understand you better too and also I plan to watch more of your videos so If I don’t know what something is I won’t have trouble finding it after lol.
