We did get a pretty much perfect weather window for the start. We watched your latest video was really good 👍 We would love a cheeky shout out in one of your next videos 😉
2 brothers from Wales that where working at asda I believe....what a story eh, well it proves that anything is possible if you really want it. Well done to the brothers keep it going
Hi Luke..if you're craving oranges you might need to check if you're pregnant! (It's an indicator of iron deficiency. Oranges fix iron when onions do the opposite.) Love your channel... ..each video better than the last and no scantily clad ladies really nails it.
Sorry to see you heading north, guys. But looking forward to sharing your continued sea voyages. Break out that red dragon in the next episode, hopefully.
hi there guys well as per usual it was a nice episode I love it when you explaine how the seas respond to the weather how the swells perform as I find like many of the viewers that love your episode are interested, we are the armchair sailers of the world and live our adventures through both of you. keep it coming . regards Robert
There is a lot to be said for “traditional” boat designs. Yes, you had a lot of movement in the weather, but what you didn’t have (which is what you would have had with a modern hull design) is slamming of the bow area and the boat feeling like it is shaking itself to pieces every time the flat bottom hits an incoming wave.
Guys..... Your ding dong background music had me pausing the video and checking the front door...😂 The weather, as you said Adam seems you had all or "almost" nothing so far on this leg of your sail North.
Sorry to see you leave out NZ waters. Fair winds….wear yr life jackets more on these longer passages!!. By now you will be knocking back a few drinks in Fiji and bathing in the sun. Looking forward to future vids
Well done lads another great episode. Very nice seamanship. I think Adam has invented a new take on what to have for breakfast with, what looked like, hash browns and milk. Cheers.
I’ve just done a side by side comparison of a hash brown from the freezer and a weetabix and apart from the temperature difference they are remarkably similar 😉 cheers.
The new Sails do look good !! btw, saw Atlas on another channel when you were in Panama marina waiting for the canal, luckily your pants weren't drying on rail.😁
Leaving a comment below! Hi guys, wish I had known you were in Opua in early May. I left there on the 6th, riding the edge of that low as well, but on the same day you left, the 10th, got too close to it and had to heave to under staysail alone. Anyway, otherwise easy passage to New Caledonia, just in time for the riots, then over to Vanuatu, which is amazing. When you come here, be sure to request permission to check in at Port Resolution on Tanna (costs a little more but well worth it and usually split with others doing the same), and pay the $100 each to go to the volcano, absolutely amazing experience. Going to Lenakel on the other side of Tanna to check in is painful, rotten anchorage and hard work getting back to Port Resolution. It's a month since your passage so any suggestions I have for Fiji are probably too late, but just in case, Wailagilala Atoll and Duff Reef at the northern end of the Lau Group are special. Enjoy Fiji, I did!
So you got close enough you had to heave to 🙄. It was a good weather system to get a decent head start. Thanks for the tips about New Vanuatu we are looking forward to visiting especially the volcano 🌋
Just to add that if at all possible get lots of Vatu from a bank in Fiji before you leave. Otherwise you will have to sail to Lenakel (please don’t) or take a truck ride there for 2 hours at considerable cost hoping that one of the tree ATMs there works. See Bumfuzzle post recently. You need 11000 Vatu PP for the volcano, there is a neat little restaurant in the village, you will likely want a bit more for other things. Port Vila is your next possible ATM, so get at least 30000 Vatu. And bring supplies to gift or trade, lined school books, pens, kitchen stuff, hardware of any kind, nails, old snorkelling gear, fishing gear, etc
Looking at your side solar panels, do you fold them away when its rough? They look vulnerable to those waves breaking into the cockpit! Another question...what mics do you use for your audio, they're very clear without much wind noise?
Hi you guys are doing great. 1 question which plan are you using with your starlink. Asking as we have to upgrade our weather systems as NZ no longer broadcast hf weatherfax which I have used for all our previous offshore adventures. Cheers Kevin😊
You obviously use Starlink on passage (?). Have you disabled the dish motor, or because you have lithium do you just let it do its thing? Still power hungry though with all that rough weather, I assume.
We did disable the motor however starlink has just launched a new feature in which you can put the dish into flat mode with the touch of a button so we enabled the motor again ✌️
Is it just me, or is Atlas actually half a knot faster in any conditions now (with the new sails)? Also, what did Adam put into the bowl and then poured milk over it ;) - you guys eat like teenagers :D
it was against mum's rules to have more than two weetabix when we were kids but now your bigger, you can have more in one bowl, give it a try, live on the edge 😁. Have a safe passage.
You guys on the cabin floor having your cheese! Mother earth is feeling quite seismic these days so maybe some odd waves arent odd at all. Anyway, love you guys and I will be thinking bout you guys on this vovage '
I'm your long time supporter "Smiley". I signed up when you were sailing around Britain and never expected I might deliver beer and cheese to Atlas in Cairns one day. 😁
Just started the projector but wanted to get my comment in ahead of time. Here goes. "Great sail brothers!" Maybe I'll edit after the video is over. 😉 EDIT: Great sail fellows! I always enjoy watching Atlas sailing. I’m curious. Will we learn the status of the cheese you made next time?
Looks like you timed that weather window just about perfectly gents. Bravo. A great passage.

Haven't had the chance to fly the dragon yet 😭, still waiting for right weather
Fantastic, thanks for sharing.

Another great sailing episode. You guys are realy cool and show no stress even when sailing in challenging conditions

Never been on a modern flat bottom boat but I can imagine how it would slam all the time. So glad we got Atlas. She is very sea kind 😁
Loving your sailing adventures to Fiji. Well done guys. x
Thank you so much 🙏
Keep up the great work guys 👍🏻
Thank you! Will do!

He is eating breakfast cereal. They are called Weetbix.
I’ve just done a side by side comparison of a hash brown from the freezer and a weetabix and apart from the temperature difference they are remarkably similar 😉 cheers.
It was weetabix 🤣🤣🤣
Definitely 😁
The new Sails do look good !! btw, saw Atlas on another channel when you were in Panama marina waiting for the canal, luckily your pants weren't drying on rail.😁
It was dawn. He had to get up and put them back on!

@@TheSailingBrothers your videos always do and this one too.
Use your kicker. Your new sail would appreciate it.
We never seem to use the kicker 🤣🤣
Do you think your new sails have increased you speed through the water compared with the old set
Our new sails have made it more comfortable as we don't heel as much and we are faster 😎

Yes the solar panels get folded down and fixed in place. We use wind slayers on GoPro 10. We use the camera microphones
You should be Knighted!!!

We use regional to rome. It's a shame New Zealand have stopped broadcasting weatherfax 🥺
Im looking for a boat to learn how to sail and do this..❤
Fantastic 😊
Look at the size of that swell! Do y’all ever get Sea Sick? Cheese must keep u stable!!
We do get sea sick 🤢 unfortunately but cheese helps
I want a pair of those handled bowls! Where did you get those?
We got them in the warehouse New Zealand

Wish I would have bought more 😭

Weetix, a breakfast cereal. Very bland. Easy on the stomach in rough weather.
She is definitely faster and more comfortable as she heels less ✌️. I was eating weetabix
it was against mum's rules to have more than two weetabix when we were kids but now your bigger, you can have more in one bowl, give it a try, live on the edge 😁. Have a safe passage.
Recently I have been eating three at a time 😎, living on the dark side 😉
Good thing you were not going south.
It is a good job we didn't go any further south 👊

Fantastic! It will be in an upcoming episode
