I absolutely loved your analysis the whole time, and I subscribed, but you are absolutely OUT of your mind if you're talking about sandin pellekka at the end. Lol that kid is going to be a fucking superstar, and please remember and mark my words. Can't believe you don't see it.
Nygard is one solid dude for a younger guy. Saw him play in the Wings rookie camp on RUclips, and he is built like a Mack truck in the lower half. I don’t want to compare him to Peter Forsberg, but Nygard could be that type of guy that’s really hard to get off a puck and move around.
I have to say this was the best evaluation I have seen so far . I didn't know that much about him at the draft but man the more I see of him i get a feeling he could potentially becom a Leon Drisitel typ of player !
I’m not even sure what part of his game is giving me this feel…but my first instinct was he looks like a better skating, smaller Johan Franzen. Great puck protection, strong frame, etc. If he puts on some strength/ balance in his skating this kid could be great.
Good video. I would add something that people don't consider is his weight. They say he is 211lbs. That is pro player weight already. Most players his age weigh around 180lbs. When you get hit by a player of that size it makes a difference.
Another great video, I would love to see a video detailing some of the terms you use. What’s the difference between a game breaker and game wrecker? And what players fit that mold? Is it a play style thing or productivity thing as in top 20 players are game breakers and top 30-50 guys are game wreckers? Thank you for the amazing content as always 🤲🏿
Thank you, first of all. Second of all, absolutely a play style thing. Productivity can vary too much depending on circumstances - but play style is relatively constant. In short, with "gamebreaker" - we're talking about dynamic, creative skill and, certainly, that should result in some degree of productivity. With a "game wrecker", we're talking more about a menace to society. A forechecker that causes d-men to fill their diapers (see: the Kunitz hit on Timonen, for instance), a backchecker that puts such back pressure on that second wave attacks fail to materialize, and a guy that outworks you to pucks and outworks you near your net to put one past you. Tom Wilson could wreck a game in his own way, Patric Hornqvist could wreck a game in his own way, Claude Lemieux could wreck a playoff game or two, etc. Not necessarily guys that blow you away from a skill and skating perspective, but have a noteworthy impact.
The reports I've seen on him are he's a low ceiling/high floor player. Well rounded but does nothing exceptional. Does sound like Kunitz. Though I think Kunitz was a much more cerebral player than the average NHLer.
Absolutely Kunitz was more cerebral than average. You can't kick it with Crosby all that time and not be intelligent - it's not easy to play with him and his expectations. Also, Ryan Getzlaf was quite the cerebral playmaker himself and Kunitz did very well there too. Definitely a plus in the hockey sense department there.
@@two-linepass I just meant that Kunitz was all around solid, but wasn't exceptionally gifted at anything. Really appreciate the content hope you keep it coming.
Really liked the break down. But the ASP slander at the end lol, not saying he's going to be a superstar, but he has major skill to his game
NHL might be too physical for him
ASP is the same height and weight as Cale makar and Quinn Hughes. Arguably the 2 best young defensemen in the nhl… I have high hopes for him.

axel sandin pellika will surprise you
Wings fan overrate him
@@davidkruse4030how? Can QB a power play to an elite level, can move the puck and great shooting

Teams in the 24 draft were so focused on centers and defensemen they may have let a real gem slip past them.
Wow love your analysis...leaning a lot about the sport I didn't understand before.
ASP delivers, tonight at 11.
I think the “safe” label that was put on him early tampered with how people perceived his ceiling ( relatively speaking still a mid first round pick )

Nice comparison. There's another level to his game if he's given the time to develop.
"purveyor of dust"
I finally found a new nickname for my C-league defense partner.

@@two-linepassTotally understand now, thanks a lot for the explanation.
Did sandin steal your gf or something. What a goof take at the end. He’ll be pretty good.
Great video, thank you !
Hope he develops well, I'd like to see Norway improve on the international stage :)
Basically, he's gonna be a good player. The conversation around him is how much higher his ceiling goes, as many believe it's not very high.
"Let's say you're not a Pavel Datsyuk type that knows where everyone was, is and will be even without putting eyes on them...." LOL.

Why do you hate ASP so much?
Sounds like another video to me...it's a good question. Maybe I'll dislike him less now that he's a couple years in.
@@two-linepass is it his durability? That’s really the only knock on him that I can really see right now.
He will be a guaranteed Bottom 6, but i doubt he will be ever able to crack the Top 6
Disagree here. Really feels like a Franzen type. I feel like 2nd line winger, net front PP guy isn’t even his ceiling.
