  • This video is not for you if you didn't commented on the previous one about the details that make an arcade port more similar to its original version.

Genesis was marketed originally as being more of the home arcade experience than NES. But a huge consideration as to why, in your first video, things like two characters being removed from WrestleMania the arcade game.... Nintendo charged more for larger carts so often SNES developers would do their best to shrink the game somewhat. Like how Sheeva got cut from Ultimate MK3.

Sega system owners carried with them a culture of superiority in those days. T2 the arcade game was a great example of how SNES could out-perform the Genesis in an arcade setting.

In the comments on the other video you state that you were trying to highlight that the actual gameplay mechanics and controls are better, but most of that video shows graphical differences. Things like text moving positions and font changes for example, yet you ignored that the color is at least slightly different for nearly ALL of the Genesis ports due to the limited color palette. What is more important, more frames of animation and more accurate color, or that the text moved? That video ignores most of the Snes strengths while nitpicking minor changes, even when the Snes port is overall the superior version. The Genesis has it's strengths, and I do prefer some of those games on the Genesis, but that video is definitely biased.

SFII Special Champion Edition was a port from SFII Turbo from SNES... how can you say it looks better if they ported the game directly from the SNES version after the original developed game (search Genesis SFII which never was video) was canned?

So many right statments in one video! Yes, even as a former SNES owner I would agree that the most important thing is playability and the general feel of the game. Though I must say this didn't concern me at all because, as you pointed out, arcades were full of odd types where I lived and - most importantly - they were expensive as hell!! So I couldn't play arcade not even close as I would have liked and therefore, the SNES versions always felt like the definitive thing to me. Being able to explore all the arcade versions I couldn't nowadays has been quite the journey, though.

I owened sfII WW for SNES alonf with SFTurbo. I later got a Sega Nomad and SFII special for it. The Sega was more authentic in arcade sound and feel. It sucks that the samples were garbled, but they were more accurate. Also i really hated the sound of the snes music for the most part. even thouth the Snes was CAPABLE of more, the genesis seemed to do better with what it had to work with when it came to those titles. Also the Sega CD version of final fight was way better than the SNES
