I quit caffeine 7 months ago. I've never felt better or more energetic since I was a child.
How’s it going now?
@@awakenotwoke6930 dead.
Yeah, Tell us! how do you feel now oddoutdoors?
@@colorsndread7922 doing great!
@@awakenotwoke6930I too quit after having my teeth cleaned and shocked at much staining was taking place. Well this & vaping. I knew I had to pick one so I gave up coffee for 2 months altogether. The withdrawal was hell on wheels for the first few days, headaches, disturbed sleep, nausea, the works! That made me more motivated to kick it. After 2 months I was offered a cappuccino and took it. I decided after that one cup of coffee 3-5 days a week wasn’t too bad after all. ☺️
I don't take caffeine of any kind anymore because it causes chest pain, shortness of breath anxiety and heart palpitations. My overall energy levels went up, I eat better and I can sleep better too. I've never felt this good in my life.
Literally what I am experiencing now. Going to wean for a few days and then quit cold Turkey.
@@Fabian-kv9tw it sucks feeling that way. Knowing that it did that to me actually made it easier to stop completely and now I prefer juice over soda. Good luck!
@@9852323 Do you have any advice for me?
@@Fabian-kv9tw If you find it impossible to quit cold turkey I would recommend switching to matcha, it's a far less anxiety-producing form of caffeination. Since you'll probably be making your own the dosage control is more autonomous than dealing with a barista.
As a corollary to this effort consider that you may be confusing caffeine addiction with sugar addiction, an equally widespread addiction that is even more dangerous than caffeine and which usually comes along in caffeinated beverages. If you think quitting caffeine is difficult, try quitting sugar.
As someone who never kept sugar around the house it's overwhelming just how difficult it's been to eliminate it from my diet entirely. Sugar substitutes made my cravings even worse than the sugar did because the sugar made me too sick to crave it. "Keto" products tend to be a deception, carbs are carbs, you can't subtract the fiber, not if you get as far into insulin resistance as I have.
Also, I believe that much of caffeine withdrawal is the consequence of a caffeine-related respiratory dependency so it would make sense to focus on your breathing. I found that by doing breathing exercises before and after sleep as well as during caffeination and when not caffeinated, I don't get noticeable withdrawls anymore.
Me too , I’ve Started drinking coffee a lot lately and have had chest stabbing pains and anxiety so bad that I have attended accident and emergency . I have only just made the link ( hopefully ) I usually drink decaf tea

Caffeine is not the most popular drug in the world, sugar is.
Yup and Coca Cola has BOTH which is why it's so popular AND addictive.
@@vlada I believe Coke got rid of the cocaine in the 1920s. I also heard they slowly used less and less till there was none
@@WhatAboutThemApples okay but sugar isn't cocaine.
@@jacjac2010 It's literally not, caffeine will make you vomit blood if you ate as much as you did sugar. It's like saying "Cyanide isn't that toxic because I don't eat very much of it." It's all fine and good to say that we eat a dangerous excess of sugar in modern society, it's another thing entirely to say that "Sugar is more dangerous than caffeine". Given a small packet of caffeine it's pretty easy to kill yourself. In fact the only reason caffeine is legal is DUE to the toxicity. Otherwise it would get treated like cocaine. I'm not arguing that sugar is good for you, but if I asked you to pick your murder weapon an ounce of sugar, or an ounce of caffeine, the ounce of caffeine would get the job done in spades, the sugar would not. The only reason why you think that sugar is more dangerous than caffeine is because caffeine has legal limits whereas sugar does not. For the record I don't have a horse in this race, Caffeine is fine in moderation, as is sugar. The poison in any substance is in the dosage, some things are deadly in small doses and some are deadly in large doses. Some people can't have much sugar at all, some people can't have much caffeine at all, but absolutely nobody on earth can survive a scoop of pure caffeine. It's an important distinction because someone could read your comment and think that Caffeine is far far safer than it actually is. Caffeine with no eye for moderation is actually surprisingly easy, and anecdotally extremely uncomfortable to nearly kill yourself with.
@@ARVash You're in danger of polluting the comment section with critical thinking.

I am 66 and many folks say I look so much younger than my age. I only drink water for 41 years and also don’t eat fast food. I started drinking coffe at age 10 and by age 25 my bladder was wrecked by caffeine from coffee and diet soda, and also processed food. Now: Coffee is good for you and lowers risk of cancer
Next year: Study links coffee consumption to cancer
2 years from now: Study finds coffee lowers risk of cancer
3 years from now: Study links coffee consumption to cancer
Anyone else thinking this lol. It's the same with milk and eggs too.
It's because people live very varied lives and any correlation in consumption of X with disease Y is most likely a lucky pick, considering the sample group members' individual behaviors. One group's members may be doing more of something that MAY increase the risk, but it's usually not looked at and attributed to the studied consumption of X. Next year they take another sample of people and the results are the other way around...
It's almost pointless doing it unless you were able to take a large number of healthy and genetically-strong babies and raise them on various diets for study purposes over many decades. THAT would be a proper study. What we are able to do now on humans is just glorified guesswork, many times not even involving a multi-varied analysis or double-blind testing.
The truth is, it lowers the risks of SOME cancers and increases the risk of OTHER cancers.
@@TheUltimateBlooper this. A good number of research studies only find a correlation, not a causation. Unfortunately however finding a causation is incredibly difficult, especially if the problem is spread across the whole body's digestive process - you'd have to repeatedly find out how coffee affects those specific body parts repeatedly, across multiple accounts... which is simply in many cases unfeasible.
Science is pretty solid; it's the media's science stories that are messed up and inconsistent.
i guess excessive intake vs moderate will change outcome. they say similar thing about alcohol, not necessarily reduce cancer, but healthy for body if take small amounts while consuming too much together with smoking will greatly increase cancer risk

Caffeine, do your own research, in the library, The opinion of coffee, before 2000, is much different today. which one is correct!
This video was very interesting! I’d love to see one about caffeine on ADHD brains and those who are calmed down by stimulants! That would be super interesting too! :)
Interesting that that’s a thing! The calming effect of coffee, that is. I drink coffee to feel confident at job interviews and it makes me feel lively and good around friends. I can focus so much better, too! That said, this video has scared me as I take the pills ALL THE TIME in order to combat the lack of energy that Lyme disease has bestowed upon me.
Omg same. I had really bad ADHD and take around 80mg of methylphenidate hydrochloride in the morning and I feel like caffeine calms me down so much. But when I want to exercise, I also wakes me up.
@@AllanLovezGaming I do that too! It calms me, but I also use caffeine to get me going ‘cause I’m generally dragging all day. I suspect that I also have ADHD, have a very hard time concentrating and absorbing info and can’t sit still.
That would be interesting! I myself have ADD and I used to take prescribed Adderall growing up in school. Problem was the meds turned me into a zombie - I guess I was so hyperfocused that my personality suffered because of it? I ended up stopping the meds because of this and I noticed caffeine helps me focus better and keeps me from daydreaming throughout the day
Stimulants are generally bad for adhd. At first they calm you down and your focus and feel like your life is saved but then the pain and anxiety and lack of focus come, because you’ll need more of that coffee or adderrall. Only thing I take now for adhd is Dopa Mucuna, and working out and quitting anything that gives instant dopamine like weed drugs porn, coffee, etc. that’s the trick for adhd. You stop messing with ur dopamine receptors and let them rest and heal and work better. Adhd isn’t permanent most people have gained it from their bad habits these days.

Yea dude🤣 i sleep 5 hours n im gucci
Did you suffer from anxiety before quiting?
and the beginning of migraines in others whenever you come around
Wait, you need less sleep when you quit caffeine?
I overdosed on caffeine twice in my late teens. It's awful, you absolutely think you're dying. It feels like you're having a heart attack. I had a severe insomniac sleep condition that was undiagnosed, and the constant harassment from my teachers for nodding off in class got too much. I started drinking up to 4 energy drinks a day and chewing/pocketing caffeine pills like chewing tobacco just to function and make the harassment stop. This also DESTROYED my teeth because of the abrasion and sugar deposits. Thankfully I'm on medication now and I'm able to sleep, but my teen years were straight hell and those teachers were definitely abusive.
Reduced my coffee intake from 5 cups a day to 1 cup in the morning. Had a 4 day migraine that was unbearable If I bent over or did anything strenuous. Went to bed at 5 o'clock on the first day, after feeling like shit all day. It's been a couple of weeks now and I'm just starting to feel normal.
4 months and I'm still struggling with depression. Anxiety completely gone tho
Have you cut out all forms of caffeine; tea, caffeine free coffee, chocolate, cola, energy drink, etc.? I find it takes the body a really long time to adjust to normal after 30 years of coffee drinking, I find I am still learning to live a balanced life where I truly listen to what my body tells me of its needs. I used to unknowingly “medicate” with caffeine and sugar, and now I try not to. Migraines are almost gone and I sleep less and I don’t feel like a wreck in the morning. I am about a month in, and I will never be a coffee drinker again. Dropping chocolate is harder, as I LOVE it. But I realize now that I get migraines from chocolate too (in the form of withdrawal symptoms). So the completely caffeine free life is still my goal. I am four weeks in, so far. I hope you managed to stay caffeine free too, if that is your wish. Best of luck!
@@MuzakFavo I have significantly reduced my caffeine intake but no, I haven't cut it out entirely. Ironically, I am typing this with a headache as I had an energy drink yesterday, due to having to do a long drive at 3 a.m.

You know that caffeine is in the tea as well, do you?
I've been addicted to coffee since I joined AA 36 years ago. I drank enough when I was working to strip a major Columbian coffee plantation several times a year. My job had a coffee service that delivered regular and decaf and used the BUNN drip system. The decaf stunk so no one drank it. I took the orange pot and would use 2 bags of coffee to make one pot. After two or three cups in a couple of hours and it started to get hard to blink but then, when you drive a forklift for a solid 45 minutes out of every hour on third shift, Not blinking often is a plus. At this time of my life, I would get up in the evening and like a heroin addict with his needle, I would prep my coffee pot and cup for that rush of get up and go.
I've been disabled for 22 years now. At 66, I don't drink nearly as much coffee as I used to but when I do, I use 1/4 cup of ground Columbian coffee for a 20 ounce cup. I mainly do this if I have to get up early or make a long trip. Some of our medical appointments are at a hospital 75 miles away. If I don't drink a cup until after noon, I'm usually easily up until 8 or 9:AM the next morning. Sometimes, I'll go days without any coffee. The times that I am most grateful for it is when I get a headache. Coffee clears it up faster than aspirin.

You always have great videos, but this one is my favorite :P Thanks!
Lol, I remember I’d average at least two packs of red bulls per 8 hour shift. And sometimes a monster, two or three my dews and four cups of death wish coffee before those shifts. I also would eat espresso beans because I just couldn’t stay awake at work. That was my daily caffeine intake for at least two years before I noticed that my lack of sleep was messing with my health. I am now a huge advocate for getting as much sleep as you can. Sleep is the best way to stay awake and alive 👍

So therefore, Coffee: the credit card of beverages
nope il sleep when im dead hahahahaha
Fuck coffee.... i just snort a line of speed and am way more awake then a cup of coffee
There's no free lunch. Energy now is a trade off for low energy later.
Strangely coffee (caffeine) doesn't affect me at all. I can drink a couple strong cups of coffee straight without sugar and it's the same as drinking water. Somehow my body doesn't metabolize caffeine and a lot of other drugs.
This is thoroughly insightful!
I remember a book many years ago saying that since caffeine is hepatic, your liver breaks it down into trimethalxanine at its half life and that is much stronger than caffeine, then it goes through the liver again and so on becoming less strong.

As someone with severe ADHD, Coffee does nothing for me when I'm not able to take my ADHD medication. I found this out when I had to go weeks without it due to complications in getting refills. I drank around 4 cans of energy drinks, coffee, etc every day. It barely got me to normal functioning levels but it's all I could do at the time while I was trying to get a hold of my doctor.
Now when I have my prescription and can take my ADHD medication as I'm supposed to, I can't drink coffee at all. If I do I become overly paranoid, see things, heart starts to not feel great, etc. It's not a fun experience so I stay away from coffee.
I have an interesting one...I had a coworker whose cousin took a narcotic which had an adverse effect (was a pharmacist but after had to be watched like a child). The effect was an unbelievable tolerance to alcohol..according to my coworker she could drink hard liquor not to different then you may drink a soda..and be fine

These studies don't take into account what else the people are consuming with or without their coffee. 5 caramel lattes every day is different to one freshly roasted black coffee without sugar!

Richard Middleton very true. You have to separate causation from correlation
Its what you put in it thats the problem

I mean organic green tea is healthy and it got caffeine

the most popular drug in the world.... sugar: "am I a joke to you"
Yes, because sugar isn't a drug.
Your organism *needs* sugar in order to function normally, and you can live with 0 caffeine intake just fine.
@@lastylie True, but it's still addictive and kills more people than other drugs combined.
@@lastylie That is false, sugar is not needed in our diet. We can break down carbohydrates into sugar in our body and protein can also be broken down into sugar. Even without any carbohydrates in your diet you will still function normally since you can use fat and protein as an energy source. In fact carbohydrates are the only energy source that we do not need and sugar is one of the worst energy source that you can possibly have (alcohol is worse in high doses, trans fats are probably worse too). I am not saying that you need to take the trouble to avoid every bit of carbohydrate, but avoiding sugar is a good idea if you want to stay healthy and avoid diabetes, overweight, heart diseases etc.
@@lastylie if you eat no carbs whatsoever (including sugar) your body will create needed glucose through the glucogenesis so no, you don't have to eat any sugars
milk more hydrating than water?
give me some sources please
"The study is funded by Dairy Farmers of Canada."
thats all i could find it was obviously very biased research
@@LTDLetsPlays Funded or not, it would make sense in the same way that adding things like salt to water also makes it better hydrating than just pure water alone. Pure water is pretty shit at that job - it needs to be mixing with something, allegedly. In the animal kingdom it's usually food, salt licks, etc. Drinking water on an empty stomach is pretty shite.
Hey Vsauce__ Micheal here
@@TheUltimateBlooper Can I have a source on that? In terms of the body absorbing water, it would make more sense that the water is more concentrated than in the body, like diffusion.

I watched this video yawning, and with a headache. Sadly, I suffer from hypersomnia, and work does not wait for anybody, so I've become dependant on energy drinks and coffee...before 2022 I used to be quite susceptible to coffee, two teaspoons gave me awful shivers and tachycardia.
Who knew? This is well done. I am really craving coffee now, I gave it up after I quit smoking but now I an going to get some.

I've been taking coffee for two weeks now. It increases my confidence, stopped overthinking, I feel active and energetic.
Most substances that are useful tools are like that in the beginning. It's like a honeymoon period. Be smart and only use it when you really need it and you can really mitigate that dropoff of positive effects.
This explains a lot. I get thirsty after drinking coffee so I grab a glass of water afterwards...and then every 20 minutes I need to sprint to the restroom
"Now, we all chuck down coffee likes it's the tears of Jesus". OMG That has to be the funniest expression of our collective coffee addiction I have ever heard.
Really? It made me sad. It made me think of the people who killed him and hiw they metaphorically drank his tears for their own pleasure.
I can vouch for this to be true. I would drink 2 cups of coffee a day and never felt energy or rested after a sleep. I decided to give up, well I was so lethargic and sleepy for the first 3 days, just laid on the bed for most of it, had a slight headache but not too bad, along with some muscle aches. I now drink Chai or Tumeric lattes when I go to a cafe and have so much more energy and feel great in the mornings after a sleep too.
I recently stopped drinking coffee and I am glad I did. Kind of a freeing feeling. I also lost a lot of weight and I am doing more walking and exercising. 😊👍
Over the last two year's I've noticed drinking coffee fuels my anxiety. I love coffee though, I had to switch to drinking 1 caffeinated coffee in the morning and decaf for the rest of the day. Decaf might not be 100% free of caffeine but it works for me.
decaf has hella pesticides though

Caffeine addiction is no joke. I was dependent on energy drinks for over 2 years and it was hell for both my body and my wallet. Luckily finally got myself to switch to normal coffee (2-3 mugs a day) and even though it’s still not healthy I’ve been feeling a heck of a lot better.
My 40 yr old daughter was chugging those energy drinks for years. She was hyped up bat shit crazy. Worse when armed with a baseball bat.
