Hey I cant figure out how to remove the 2 rear bolts from the electric frame on my seat now to install it on a manual seat. Your video doesn't show how the frame seemed to lift up on swivel bracket? Thank you for your video.
Thanks for this. Do you know if going from electric to mechanical driver seat in the Dakota lowered the cushion/seat at all? My son has a Dakota of the same generation as yours with the electric driver seat. But, he sits about 2-3 inches too high no matter the adjustment. So, he has to squat down to see traffic lights, tall signs, etc. I'm not sure why Dodge did that. Thanks for any info.
The manual seat rails will lower the height of the seats not sure exactly how much I would guess a couple of inches iam 6’1 and it’s perfect for me to sit in, the electrical seats always seems to high for me also
@@walg4344 Thanks much. I guess Dodge decided that a 20% smaller truck had to have 20% shorter drivers. My son is also 6' 1". He was lucky in that last year, he inherited his 05 Dodge Dakota with only 47k miles on it - hardly driven. The downside is fixing up the odd things takes work because the 05-11 generation didn't sell too well so parts are rare. I don't see those manual rails in obvious places online, so will have to watch or hit a junkyard. Thanks.
Success. Important note and a question for you... Important for others: If you have the style of seats in this gen Dakota where there's a 3rd seat in the middle between the driver and passenger, not a console...then the 3 seats are all connected via bolts underneath the middle extra rail joints, with 4 bolts facing *upwards*. *What this means is that to get just the drivers seat out, you have to take out both the driver and passenger seats with center jump seat, then tilt the whole thing upside down to disconnect the drivers seat!* Second, we did also end up getting that airbag warning red light, despite trying carefully to retain all relevant connectors, and we disconnected the negative on the battery for all the work. What did you do to get the airbag light to turn off? Thanks in advance.
We've researched and to get the air bag warning light off will likely take a reset by Dodge, or it's possible an advanced OBD reader that can clear codes might be able to clear it. The controller is under the passenger seat, and we can actually turn the light off by sitting in the passenger seat. Do you recall what you did to clear that air bag light? Thanks again for being the only in-depth source I can find for this rails modification.
Only added benefit was that it longer range of motion pushing forward and personal preference, passenger side is a manual figured why not and I found one in the junk yard

I will leave you be about this.
How’s the truck running with that many miles on it ?
My transmission went out about a month ago but until then really good so out of the stock transmission I got 278k miles not bad
Why go to manual?
