Yea lowering ones voice, and sounding older than you actually are, in hopes to be taken seriously is not the way to be taken seriously. Despite claims from the English cast the voice direction of Frontiers "really matured the vibe of the franchise." If anything it just screams "Look at how mature I am, talking like an adult... Please take me seriously, please!" Especially when that the Japanese cast talk normally and can still sell a serious tone just fine, as they have continued to do the past near 25 years.
@@ctpp64eh not really, Roger just sounds like he’s talking in his normal voice (which doesn’t fit Sonic), Cindy Robinson still sounds too bland for Amy, Even Mike Pollock was lacking the energy of Dr Eggman that he’s managed to pull off for the past 20 years.
Gara Takashima and Hochu Otsuka are the only Japanese dub actors who have not done anything in The Final Horizon, the grunts of The end are reused from English, and at the moment of possessing Supreme, instead of a new dialogue, they use the first part of the Monologue of The end in Japanese.
Just got the CD soundtrack for this games 3rd update The Final Horizon the mail today at 2:34p.m. and it's the Sonic Frontiers Expansion Soundtrack: Paths Revisited CD and I'm listening to it while watching this! 5:47p.m. 12/19/2023
Most of the lines are more or less the same as the English localization, but I do like how nicer Amy was toward Sage at 20:35. I did find it odd how weirdly antagonistic Amy acted toward Sage in English with this conversation. I never understood what they were implying there lol
Kinda wish The End had more to say, I like this "cosmic order" thing its got goin' on. but for the whole battle after its introduction it just clams up. :(
This version is better purely for confirming that Amy is an atheist who believes that belief in God holds society back, and is thus shocked when an advanced civilization had religion. She'd do great on Reddit.
yeah this seems mostly unchanged. which is a good sign imo since for the most part, i think flynn did a good job on the characterization in final horizon, compared to the base game. so there's less that needed to be "fixed" this time for the JP version. (aside from amy, rip. but sonic's the most important imo so i'm just glad he's written better now)
I'm still kind of annoyed the japanese dub knows about Amy more than the guys on the country with eagles and guns and red hats. I hope the next game is Amy I'm actually seeing and not a sanitized cardboard like in this game.

I would say a good 60% of the original game is also faithful, since most of that is conversation scenes.
