After watching the Japanese versions, I did a small project where I gave both SA1 and SA2 new English dub scripts. My goal was to not only make it more accurate, but also make every line fit the mouth movements and timing. I kept some of the old English lines if they were good enough or too iconic to change. It took two weeks and I’m proud of my work, even if it took an excruciatingly long time. I wish I was able to get VAs and coders to make a dub mod. But I’m not rich or have contact with anybody of that talent.

I've played this game literally hundreds of times at this point (been playing it since 2003 lol), but for some reason despite using the JP voice for speedrunning the stages, I never played the story mode with it, and oh my god what have I been missing all these years, this dub is AMAZING in comparison with the more classic english one! Also watchin the whole story in chronological order feels so fucking good! I learned so much about what happened when because of this. I honestly can't put into words how much this video was a blast to watch, I thank you again from the bottom of my heart for making this!
Oh yeah, I absolutely cannot agree more. It's probably the most impactful part of the game for me, personally. Genuinely never fails to make me tear up in the original Japanese dubbing every single time. The emotion and message there actually feels REAL and IMPACTFUL.

Honestly, for as many improvements as there are, is it just me or does Eggman's line seeing Shadow make him sound stupider? Like, I think it's cooler to imagine that he thought Sonic happened to flash on the scene when he least expected it, versus here where he somehow thinks that Gerald's writings would have Sonic here to prank him.

I can tell the animations and mouth syncing was made more for the Japanese version than the English version. In the English version, the words don’t match with what they’re saying, they’re constantly talking over each other, and it’s very out of sync.

Seems the script was done when Shadow was originally much closer to Sonic in sihouette, see anything regarding Terios if you want a comparison.
