Honestly, I think a silent Gregory would have the potential to be more emotional and way better. Maybe just whimpers and panting to give a reaction. Scared to silence. "That is the security guard. She can help!"
*Cue head shaking animation and frightened whimpers*
"No? Why not? You seem frightened. Very well. I suppose we can find another way."
Animatronics near by? A smal gasp and muffled heavy breathing.
He could be nameless. Or it could be revealed at the end of the game. Or in the first Vanessa scene where she scolds Freddy.
"A child is hiding in the pizzaplex. His name is Gregory."
    So much potential, wasted.

One thing I never got was how Vannesa was changed so drastically. In the trailer, she seemed to want to help Gregory and knew about the dangers. But in the game she is a brat that gets two minutes of screen time total, including Vanny.

Yeah it really annoys me how Vanny/Vanessa barely get much screen time or explanation aside from the endings. I feel like what really happened is that Vanessa was supposed to play a bigger role in the game, and was probably planned to help Gregory escape. Why do Gregory and Freddy talk about them like they were well aware of it? How are these disappearances even related to Fazbear Entertainment? I mean, it can't be because they happen in the Pizzaplex, after all, Vanny catches Gregory in an alley on one of the endings. I think it's a little annoying how the main enemy was just the staff bots. It was an inevitable consequence of having a massive environment, and only three animatronics chasing you.
I do think the idea of a "support" enemy that can't kill you by itself is interesting, but I actually would've given that role to Vanny. It would play into the idea that she's toying with you if she never actually tried to kill you herself, but would still follow you around, taunting you and pointing you out to the other animatronics, maybe even being able to control staff bots (which in my design, would be otherwise passive and less numerous) and turn them violent
On top of this there should really just be more active threats throughout the game. Maybe bring in that big tangle of wires and animatronics earlier than the actual final mission. Maybe there's a mission early in the game that brings you into some kind of "History of Fazbear" attraction, and while you're in there, Vanny shows up and lets out a bunch of older animatronics from past games, that roam around for the rest of the game
Just spitballing ideas because I really find it annoying that the staff bots are the most frequent threat during a large part of the game

They removed things like "blood" from the games dialogue and even removed Vanny's knife from her design altogether. I feel like they should have done the entire focus on one single ending, building up to a final boss, and keeping the non-child friendly stuff out, because, this is a horror game franchise. It is meant to be scary, but the bright and colorful Pizzaplex really isn't. The jumpscares also don't help, as they seem too toned back from earlier games in the franchise. If I recall correctly the developers didn’t want those changes to happen but were forced into it via the contract for their PlayStation release, to avoid making the game rating too high which could have been an issue with sale numbers. Even tho the use of the word Blood or a Bunny with a knife (that you wouldn’t ever see used) isn’t in anyway “too much” for a kids horror game, there’d almost certainly be parents out there who don’t judge each game individually and just flat out ban their kids from playing M rated games.
In some places around the world (not sure about America) game stores aren’t legally allowed to sell M15+ games to kids who can’t prove they’re T least 15yr old, so I understand why the rating was an issue if they wanted to make a profit, it’s just whoever is behind determining what is PG or M is being way too precious in how they determined whether a game is suitable for kids or not.

That isn't just it. The colourful neon environment, and the colourful shiny characters make it hard to feel scared. To the game's credit, the daycare was a solid sequence. It was dark, the moon was fairly creepy, and you have to navigate a narrow space. Unfortunately, this part is over too quickly, and your objective is very straightforward. You can also just increase your brightness and see the entire room clearly, removing the challenge of navigating the dark narrow space.

The decision itself isn't a bad one in a game design perspective, but outside factors such as jank that ends up killing you makes this decision extremely punishing, more than intended.

I feel like they could have done so much more with the Daycare Attendant. He's such a cool character, but he was kinda just there for one segment and existed as a hazard, and that was it. So many questions, like:
    * If it was nighttime, why was Sun hyped about a slumber party? Isn't that Moon's deal? Why does Moon exist if Sun can handle the nighttime activities?
    * Why are the emergency power switches in a children's play area?
    * Why was Moon evil?
    * Why does Sun toss a child into the unknown for breaking a rule? Surely there must be a time out where bad kids go, instead of being tossed out into the Pizzaplex
    * How does the switch from Sun to Moon happen? It's vague and doesn't make a lot of sense, and I feel like showing that could really help anchor the character
It's not even that hard to find an answer to all of these questions. Reworking how you interact with Sun and Moon can greatly change how he works as a character.
Let's say Moon is going a little nuts due to Afton's influence (this would change Moon's red eyes to purple). It makes sense then that Sun is up at night, and handling the activities. It also makes sense why he's so insistent to keep the lights on. Perhaps there could be a bit of dialouge:
Gregory: "Wait, I thought it was nighttime? Isn't Moon supposed to be out?"
Sun: "Moon is... err... under the weather. So let's keep the lights on! On. ON."
Sun allows you to explore much more of the daycare, and will only drag you back once you near the security desk, warning about how it could get them in trouble. However, there would be much more fun activities to do with Sun, like drawing and storytelling. Offering to tell a story to Sun, Gregory makes up a story about a kid lost in the Pizzaplex, and Sun is quick to see through these thin lies. Then, you get two allies in your quest to escape, Freddy and Sun. Sun could perhaps keep you safe, blocking a lethal jumpscare and letting you continue the game while he wrestles with whatever came to harm you (this would not apply to certain enemies like Vanny).
But, let's say you're not a fan of Sun, and want to defy him. You can knock over the stack of toys, turn off the lights, and see Sun transform as usual. This time, it's a simple change of the face spinning into a new color and the spikes slipping away and replaced by a rod that pops out a hat (the hat is connected to Moon's head, which is why it doesn't fall off when he spins it). The clothes have already changed in the dark, as the pattern changes depending on the amount of light. This is a unique way of doing it, and certainly believable in the world of FNAF. We've got a dress that appears black/blue to some and white/yellow to others, so in a world of living animatronics possessed with children's souls, a pattern changing with light fits right in.
Regardless, now you're chased by Moon, being chased out of the Daycare and perhaps into some other room where the switches are. Once you've turned the lights back on, Sun will catch you and put you into time out, where "you're going to sit until you've thought about what you've done!". Then, you wait to be busted out by Freddy, and upon escaping, Sun will ban you from the daycare, since you don't want to stick around anyways. This fits more in line with his character, while still providing a way out of the daycare.
These two options will also change how the game is played. For 30-60 minutes after the lights come back on, Sun will make their way back to the daycare. If you decided to abandon Sun and you come across him, he'll send out a security alert, warning nearby enemies to your position.
Just these small bits really help flesh out one of the coolest and most creative characters in this game

This has easily been one the most tedious game I ever played.
I stayed up till 3am local time to play it at launch, but because there was no pre-download I had to download the entire thing first. I'm in a fortunate position to have good internet speeds, meaning the download only took about an hour. For the record, it was the PS5 version which is only 20ish GB instead of the 80GB the PC version takes up.
I started to play it (I had the day 1 patch installed), and instantly noticed frame rate issues after the intro cutscene. To make matters worse, not even **10 minutes** in I had to reset the game due to a game breaking bug. Freddy did not spawn for me after I opened the door to his room, so I wandered around clueless for a good 15 minutes, before asking a friend who told me Freddy was supposed to spawn there.
After that I progressed fairly smoothly for a good while - with minor bugs of course - until I reached Parts & Services. There was a common bug on PS5 where a button prompt did not show up to enter the charging station at the end of 2am. I spent a looooong time running around wondering what to do, until looking up a RUclips video of a PC user where I noticed it was as simple as a button prompt having to appear. I tried for many, many hours to bypass it - since a couple lucky individuals made it past without issues - but no luck.
Luckily for me a friend let me play his PC version because he couldn't stand the bugs. Turns out the PC version - at the time at least - is even buggier than the PS5 game. I run on high end hardware and could not play the game on any settings higher than medium for the framerate to even be **acceptable**. Even on medium I had TONS and I mean TONS of frame drops.
I *somehow* managed to beat the game on PC, after around 30(!!) hours of bugs, glitches and pure confusion. I had already noted that my PC was getting pretty hot - despite my hardware and the low settings - so I closed it frequently. But it had to happen of course, and my GPU (a 3080) nearly overheated from this damn game. Luckily I managed to notice the smoke in a timely enough manner to avoid any serious damages. I have refused to touch the PC version since.
So I went back to the PS5 version, which still couldn't be completed, but hey...maybe if I tried a new save I could get lucky. And at least the PS5 doesn't overheat...right?
Clearly wrong. At some point my PS5 randomly turned off with a loud noise and refused to turn on for a good 10 minutes, i.e. the signs of an overheat. I refused to touch the game until the PS5 patch, which at the very least seemed to have fixed the overheating issue, but my goodness - that should never have happened in the first place, ESPECIALLY ON 2 DIFFERENT PLATFORMS TO 1 PERSON.
Those ramblings aside, yes I agree the game is super broken, even in the current patch. I've had countless times where enemies (particularly security guards) would randomly teleport in front of me. I've also died to lag spikes many times (specifically in the West Arcade on PC) due to animatronics I was running from randomly catching me during the lagspike.
I also remember my save getting COMPLETELY wiped after I finished the Princess Quest minigame. Luckily I learned to keep lots of back-ups but wtf?? This was on the current patch btw.
Speaking of the Princess Quest minigame...
It couldn't even be played on the

Read your whole comment, and I agree 100%. The game had serious potential but it’s just bogged down by so many issues. I’d call it the Sonic 06 of the FNAF series, it’s got solid ideas and a lot of care and effort put into it, but the performance and polish is just not there, and it brings the whole experience down.
The most egregious issues for me personally are the ways in which you can literally lock yourself out of content if you don’t get it at a specific time in the game. I absolutely hate when games do this as it means you’ll need to reset ALL your progress just to get 100%, and it’s a clear-cut sign of either lazy programming or rushed development.
I’m sad because like you said, there IS a really great game beneath all the garbage, and I do enjoy plenty of the parts about this game, but the overall package is just too flawed for me to call it “good”.

a trap many writers will do when revising and editing a story they’ve worked on for a long time is remove crucial plot points thinking they’re unnecessary or redundant (or an editor will) and not know the plot point is missing because they’re working with the knowledge of how the story has progressed. THATS a major problem of security breach, when “trimming the cake” they forgot that the players will be coming to it with ZERO knowledge of the years of work and storyboarding and character development they had while making the game, and clearly forgot to put it back. they cut the actual cake off and only left the frosting.
fnaf has alway been vague, but security breach isn’t vague, it’s fully expects you to understand cutscenes and story beats and especially ENDINGS that have no context left in the actual game. the context was left on the cutting room floor and no one in development realized because they were working with a shared common sense basis that the player will never have

There's a few pieces of evidence, mostly circumstantial, that there was originally supposed to be 5 nights. E.g. the 4 animatronics, one "works with you" per night, before you all team up to defeat Vanny.

The ending was so anticlimactic combined with the fact that we barely see Vanny and Springtrap is shoved in for no reason *yet again* I thought Glitchtrap was supposed to be the main antagonist that strings along Vanny to do his bidding. This game could have been much better than what we got, I hope we get DLC to answer all the unfinished questions and to actually establish the characters in the first place.

The game should've been split into two separate parts: Story Mode and Explorer Mode. Story Mode is of course the cohesive story played through in a more linear fashion with Autosaves and ONE ending. Explorer Mode would be the player simply exploring the Pizzaplex, engaging with the animatronics, and playing minigames related to Scott's previous work and extra lore bits.

And a point for collectibles, like have a room where Gregory goes too where he can put all the stuff he collects in it, so at least you have reason to collect them

  • @cblake4111
    @cblake4111 2 года назад +55

My personal thoughts on my idea for the game:
The game would begin with Gregory arriving at the Pizzaplex, with a brief intro showing the development of the Pizzaplex and the robots, and the mention of the mysterious disappearances. Gregory would watch the show as Freddy crashes upon spotting him. While Freddy recovers in his room, Gregory sneaks around as security guard Vanessa realizes that he is not registered. Finding Freddy's room, he meets Freddy, who offers to help him escape, though when they get past Vanessa in the maintenance tunnels, they arrive at the front gate as it closes. The other animatronics come out and meet Gregory, and they each play with Gregory as they show their respective areas, with Gregory solving a changing maze controlled by Chica, playing a match of mini-golf against Monty, and participating in an actual race with Roxy on the completed raceway. During their time together, while they are friendly, small bits of their character flaws slip out as the virus begins to affect them, such as Gregory catching Chica gorging herself after the maze and ashamedly hiding it, Monty snapping briefly after the match, and Roxy being a bit prickish to Gregory following the race, with the latter two apologizing afterwards.
Vanessa then finds Gregory, irritated while also worried and seemingly nervous for some reason. Freddy and the others manage to convince Vanessa that he'll be safe with them; while nervous, Vanessa is assured what with the presence of the other four able to protect him. They decide to set up a show just for Gregory, but just as they start, the three then come under the effects of the virus, activating the previously disabled security mode (mentioned later by Vanessa); Vanessa briefly spots a figure in a warped humanoid mask and coat watching from afar. While Freddy holds off the others while taking some mild damage, he tells Vanessa to hide him in the Daycare while she looks for the figure, where Gregory meets Sun; the playful Sun insists that the lights remain on no matter what. When the figure appears briefly and the lights are disabled, Sun begins to transform into Moon, telling Gregory to find the emergency generators to reset the Daycare power before turning. Gregory then avoids Moon (who fears Gregory's flashlight) as he traverses the jungle gym while starting the generators, using his flashlight to hold Moon back. When the lights are restored, Sun removes Gregory from the Daycare for his own safety, revealing his fearful knowledge of his other half. When Gregory reveals what is happening with the other robots, he tells Gregory that he can hide in the main security station overlooking the main hall, but must get a pass from a nearby security station to access it; he also reveals that most of the other bots have a weakness to bright lights as well, and mentions that he can use either a Fazcam or a Fazblaster to defend himself.
After taking a shortcut through the tunnels, Gregory narrowly evades the three while he finds the office and holds them off while Vanessa works to remove the lockdown. Finding and entering the main security station, the figure then appears on the screens, and she seemingly sounds an alarm that alerts the bots to his presence. The animatronics attempt to break in, and Freddy establishes contact with Gregory, telling him to use the electric shock systems to keep them back from the doors while searching for Freddy on the monitors and opening several doors on a path leading to the room beneath the station. Freddy saves Gregory, and the two decide to head to the Parts and Service area to repair his damage. Gregory briefly heads to the control booth for the stage to activate the stage lift, with them both heading down to Parts and Service. However, as the power briefly dips, Moon appears and attacks, taking Freddy to the repair station. Separated, Gregory finds the entrance to Parts and Service, but he requires another security pass. Vanessa tells him that a pass would likely be in the endoskeleton development area, and Gregory enters to find it. However, the seemingly docile endos then activate on their own, and Gregory uses his flashlight to keep them at bay until he escapes.

Vanessa, a crazed and devout believer in the Afton murders, takes a nightguard shift after hearing stories of previous nightguards. She discovers a kid is sneaking around after hours in the pizzaplex, and hastily conjures up a costume from scrap animatronic parts littered behind the scenes in the pizzaplex.
Eventually, she cuts all power, which sends the pizzaplex into darkness, a few hours after Greggory is accustomed to it being bright and having relaxing jazz playing in the background. This cut in power also disables freddy (maybe you can have a gag saying how modern tech requires a wifi signal or something).
With no light, no music, and a limited flashlight charge, Greggory must head across the entire pizzaplex to restore power. His only pursuer? A lunatic in a rabbit costume, as human as he is, yet looking like a mangled amalgamation of disused animatronics.
This brings back the power concept, and with little to no audio, the game will be as terrifying as ever as you make your way without knowing whether you are truly safe.

Part pf the problem that most FNAF's fans are lucky to have something as powerful as a PS4 pro, PC or not. Besides help wanted they were all very modest games before. This is a problem because FNAF SB was made with the UE4 engine; and is demanding. UE4 is notorious for becoming vastly more buggy on low end or old hardware the more intense graphics are. Slingshot bugs, textures never fully loading, script timeouts. I like it a FNAF SB lot as a game, the scope and environment are amazing, and it has been mostly bug free, but I am mid 20s with a computer that would be considered still high end, even if 3 years old. I still love how a lot of fans are pinning the blame onto the fans, whenever pressure from fans has almost nothing to do with an overly ambitious game that was developed in a clearly small timeframe for what they wanted done. Yes, they should have delayed, but this problem could have also been avoided if the gaming industry wouldn’t announce games like in the concept stage, instead of waiting for late development to actually start putting out teasers and trailers. Like, I mean final polishing stage, like the game could be released next month and complete stage. The amount of bugs, cut material, and unpolished and optimized stuff is a symptom of what went wrong, and what is wrong. Much like another popular studio, Mojang, they attempted to do a lot, and when they realized they couldn’t they delayed it, and then released a cut and buggy version that’s almost unplayable because they haven’t even optimized it yet. That is the real problem

There was multiple times in this video where internally I was like 'oh the answer to that is because....' but remembered it's secret lore. The basic game without all the tiniest lore details up to date doesn't make any sense. The experience between ppl casually play in the game for fun and ppl who play for lore is a massive gap which is a shame. That's the exact problem I have with MCU, particularly as a comics fan. There shouldn't be homework for a price of art you want to enjoy.

I strongly agree with the fact that it would've been so much cooler if Vanny was just a fucked up crazy person inspired by William to kill children. Something like this could still be done with current story of Vanesa being mind controlled by William, like she could get sick of being told what to do and being pushed around by Glitchtrap and other people in her life, eventually giving in to Glitchtrap and going full serial killer Vanny, but instead she choses not to serve Glitchtrap, instead maybe seeing his flaws in his plans and killings, trying to be more than him and out do him.
This is just my personal opinion but I really just want William Afton to stay dead at this point, he was such a good villain in the OG games but now he's just handled poorly in my opinion. I was hoping with the soft reboot of Help Wanted that Vanny would become the new main antagonist for the future games, William would still be there but take more of a back seat, instead something like just call backs and references to him, kind of like Vanny's idol. Like it would have been so creepy to see a a whole shrine room of William or something made by Vanny.
Despite the flaws of this game I still enjoyed my time with it, I just hope that whatever is next will improve upon the flaws of Security Breach and further develop the things that worked in this game.
    I'd give the game a 7/10

I think one of my biggest problems is just how boring the enemies (gameplay-wise) turned after a couple hours into the game. I mean, I understand moving and running is the core mechanic of the game, but every single enemy, despite some of their behavior differences (more/less speed, more/less aggression, etc), can simply be avoided by running and hiding. I think it would have been better to cut on the budget of some map areas and instead add way more animatronics that serve different purposes and could even be associated with their "personalities". Examples: what if roxy was extremely fast and almost unavoidable but, because of her "narcissism", she's easily distracted by lights and sounds; what if monty was rather slow and "dumb", but because of his "anger issues" he constantly destroys obstacles and hiding spots, making it more difficult for you to escape other enemies; finally, what if instead of a million security bots around the area, those same cams you use to help you could also be your detriment, meaning that they constantly share your location to the animatronics and guide them through the map to reach you (and don't just wait around two miles away and teleport in front of you once a bot discovers you).

Security Breach was the biggest disappointment of the year for me, and as a big fan of the series that just breaks my heart to say. Everything you said reflected my views on the game: overambition and lack of focus. The game supposedly ended up being three times as big as it was supposed to, yet in retrospect i think that was a mistake. Better to have a smaller, polished, more linear and focused experience than a big, vague, unfinished mess.
We have two villains that have been hyped up for years, Vanny and the return of Afton via Glitchtrap, yet both of them got barely any screentime at all. Hell, Afton has more lines in the _trailer_ than he does in the game since he's completely mute. The game should have been all about the connection between Vanny and Afton and how Gregory does (or doesn't) fit into their plans. There was a big opportunity to flesh out these characters that was completely wasted. The story just... _stops_ once you get the first party pass. It worked with the other games because they were small enough to have simpler plots and leave the interconnection with the rest of the series to secrets, but Security Breach is such a large game that it _needed_ to have a proper story to keep us going. It doesn't and ends up completely unsatisfying as a result.
Plus, you know, the true ending completely spits on the ending to Pizzeria Simulator by having Henry's sacrifice turn out to have accomplished absolutely nothing. Not only is Springtrap still active for some godforsaken reason despite having a much better continuation in Glitchtrap, but the other animatronics are also still there via the Molten Freddy Blob thing.
Gameplay-wise, the decision to turn off the save stations at 6 AM just completely boggles my mind. You're seriously telling me that nobody thought that disabling the ability to SAVE YOUR GAME in a game designed around exploration and finding secrets and multiple endings was a bad idea?

    • @VenomQuill
      @VenomQuill 3 года назад +23

The game went super well up to just past Daycare when you got the first badge and found yourself in the main area. I think what happened was the game was linear. You could do literally nothing else. At all. Just a linear story. Keep away from robots, roam some dark hallway before the daycare, evade Moon, and then get out and grab Freddy's help. After that, you're on your own.
Being on your own in an open-world game is rarely fun. Skyrim was open world and fun, but it had pretty much zero plot, flat characters, and was made to just be a sandbox to play in. The DLCs were amazing because they were full of plot and cool new stuff. And guess what? They were linear in a smaller environment.
I love Security Breach. However, I think it would have benefitted greatly from being a tad more linear. Maybe letting people choose which boss to fight first is cool, but most of the game is "Here's an extremely vague thing you need to do with a vague description, get on it" and then being thrown into the world. A more detailed quest list and maybe some bumpers on the bowling lane would do the game very well. Again, not so much that it ruins the open-world aspect or feels like an interactive movie, but enough that you know what to do.

Why did he just randomly think of Vanessa the minute he saw the name? At least have him actually think for a bit before immediately having him go, yes. They are probably the same person the minute he learns her name, especially since he doesn’t even know who the rabbit lady is or if she even existed since she’s supposed to be invisible to Freddy. (Also note, it’s weird that he also knew her name near the 6:00 AM mark but I’m guessing that’s due to the cut content.)

He expected (Like I did too) that we would drive and actually have some sort of "boss fight" like we did against Monty but no it's a 10 sec scene where we don't even control gregory and Roxy gets hit in the face and that's it. The scene after that is us doing the normal run to a point without getting caught and hide along the way. On multiple occassions Roxy got stuck or just walked right past us or stood right in front of us without killing us for some reason, really taking us out of the experience.

I think it says something when the fan games feel better realized than the official games. Joy of creation kinda did what Security Breach did but much much better. It was scarier, shook up the formula more, and was all around an excellent game. This game though? Just too buggy, and the story never felt realized. Its like they made the giant area to freeroam but did not think about how to connect it story wise.

my genuine thoughts on security breach:
honestly, a good attempt, but bad time management.
i kind of prefer the less horror focused in exchange for more lore based gameplay. fnaf always relied on jumpscares for its horror, which people forget is the main reason fnaf was considered childish, not actually the fanbase it obtained. jumpscares were cheap horror elements designed for easy scares, and the fact the jumpscares are worse isn't really a bad thing imo, especially since the REALLY scary jumpscares were meh at best after the 2nd game. the game still has horror elements, like hearing those animatronics barreling at you is terrifying(until you know their mortal weakness is a table), but its clearly a lot less horror focused then the others. this also offers the chance to implement actual HORROR instead of relying on jumpscares to do the work for them in the future.
the story is...unpolished, but i can see potential if it was fleshed out, the story feels kind of terrible mostly because so much content was cut, a lot of loose ends are visible, and the entire story feels extremely random, but i imagine they had a much better story in mind, especially since at the end freddy is aware of vannys name, and they learn of the deaths of children implying theres a LOT of story that we lack access to.
the bugs. honestly, so many. its kind of sad. theres too many to list, and so many of them are so simple to do, and half of them involve just...jumping...and honestly removing jumping might completely fix it, making me think jumping was just a late addition and ended up ruining everything. you can literally bug the animatronics by just...jumping on a table. really ruined any attempt to scare the player, and i think thats why this game doesn't feel scary, because bug's are an easy safety net, and with jump scares being dialed down, it comes out as a really mild horror.
freddy...honestly, i really like the freddy as an ally direction. it was a twist and honestly, really feels refreshing since fnaf loves to betray you with its "allies" like baby and even phone guy a bit. i know it might feel less horror like with a hunk of metal to protect you, but i think just because you have a partner doesn't mean you cant make the game scary, and with relaxing moments could REALLY up the bar for the next horror element. if someone is constantly scared they prepare for the worst, but when they feel safe, thats when you can genuinely scare the shit out of a person.
honestly, i kind of hope this failure doesn't put them down, and instead encourages them to fix their mistakes, because they have potential, they just need to iron out a few issues, and decide on a direction they want to go and fully commit to that, even if the fanbase gets huffy about how long it takes.

Actually fnaf didn't rely on it's jumpscares to scare people, mostly on atmosphere and absence of action and sometimes even information, you can clearly see that when you play the games (except for fnaf 3), the game also relies on the eerie appearance and lore behind the animatronics, especially in the first game where they had this uncanny valley sort of feeling to them which is what made them so terrifying. I also disagree with you on the freddy ally thing being a good idea, they tried to make him seem like a good guy who just wanted to protect gregory which made most players establish a connection with him therefore eliminating any fear we previously felt of the character, and then you had the other characters as well being given personalities for some reason, it just felt like they completely forgot that fnaf is a *horror* franchise and not some dumb stealth game

@@Suren2122 if you took away the jumpscares, all fnaf games wouldn't be scary...at all. trust me i'm one of the most scaredy cat people out there. games like amnesia i can only play for like, 10 minutes before being like "nopenopenope" but i can literally sit through the entirety of fnaf and unless i get jumpscared i won't be scared...at all. the first game is the only exception to this, and even then its BARELY there. this is why kids got attached to fnaf, because the horror in fnaf isn't genuine horror. if a kid tried to play any other horror game they would be scarred mentally for months.
fnaf relies on jumpscares. and all scary moments are in fear of BEING jumpscared. your not scared of the animatronics, your scared of when they jumpscare you. theres literally a commercial where you can see them singing innocently and if you tell me that got you scared then honestly you should try to play any other horror game and just see the difference.
not trying to hate on fnaf. im honestly just stating my opinion as someone who actually gets terrified from horror.

i guess it's kinda a guilty pleasure, and besides, my biggest problems only come from me believing the game needed more time to be worked on
i feel like they put their focus on visuals before thinking about anything else, because while the game *looks* good, the gameplay and story do not seem like they were prioritized before they made everything shiny

Y'know, there is actually a very easy way of getting around the auto saves have been using for a while now. Simply keep the current save point setup BUT make checkpoint's at certain key story events. When the game is turned off, simply return the player to the last save point without the problem of getting soft locked. Hell, if you wanna go even further with this, give the player the option upon loading up the game to reload their save OR the checkpoint.

I would say that Security Breach was something completely different about 6-5 months before release. The current version is quite imperessive compared to the other games but it feels like a very cut down version of something that was meant to be more. Judging from the trailers and such the story was meant to be quite more of an element and was waaay different beforehand. I do not know what happened at Steel Wool to end up with what we did but my guess they either want to keep those elements for future projects or decided this is better. Who knows, but the game is pretty decent in my opinion.
