the irony of a fnaf movie video being delayed is hilarious to me
kinda funny because scott is known for releasing his fnaf stuff very early, even before the release date
At the very least they didn't follow Scott's tradition of being very vague with the lore to the point of being unsolvable
Hoe Jawley
@@KraylebStudiosThey kind of did that. What happened to Mike’s brother? Where is he? What is this yellow bear version of Freddy and why is he torn up? Why does William want to kill kids? They leave so much open for the sequel that they just should’ve had I. The first damn movie
Nice pfp
Why is markiplier on screen for 95% of this video lol
Lol I noticed that too
Why wouldn't you want Markiplier on your screen for 95% on a video? Lol
Yeah why is he only on screen for 95 precent of the video why couldn't it be a hundred mark ows us an apology fr
To avoid copyright most likely. Having a face cam on the screen, as well as a border, helps to dodge the copyright system pretty well.
The duck song
The one thing I love about the FNAF movie is that Jim Henson's Creature Shop did such a great job with creating the animatronics
Sorry but it apparently looks like CGI according to 4k horse eyes man, even after finding out the animatronics are real
Yeah, it definitely looks like a mix of practical and CGI effects, may not be the best balance, but I feel like it was critical to the film's success. Going back to video game movies can be more successful if more true to the source material.
I was lucky enough to see them at universal studios during a fright night event. And, yeah. They’re pretty dang cool. So glad they worked on them.
@@thejedisonic67
Because they _do_ have CGI all over them. I don't know why it makes you mad to point it out, I think it's kinda insulting to the Jim Henson company and the hard work they did that the editors smeared CGI all over their creations, just because they had to move fast to make the spoopies happen
this is the “like if you [blank]” of the fnaf fandom
About the horror, I always bring up Coraline. The idea kids movies can't be scary is bull shit when Coraline exists. A pretty spooky kids film. I think horror rated PG-13/PG, is important to get new fans of the horror genre.
Agreed, indicted former US president Donald Trump
Only difference being Coraline did the horror well, and I don’t think the Fnaf movie had any strengths in its horror.
True, but i think since Coraline is older we need to accept it isn’t the standard anymore, it probably would be a higher rating today. The FNAF movie, a movie about straight up child murder from a horror franchise, needed to be allowed to go harder
@cantthinkofaname5046
That is a legitimate possibility.
This is gonna be a wild comparison, ik, but other PG horror movies that would've had their rating upped (if released today) are classics like Beetlejuice (and in the case of the movie Gremlins, that one WAS re-rated to a PG-13).
Same deal with Coraline, what was PG over a decade ago might be too hardcore and would've been slapped with a PG-13.
And, dare I say, there are probably some PG-13 horror movies that either teeter on an R or would've been full on R.
But the issue isn't just the PG-13 rating, it's that they never once utilized that rating to its full extent. Most likely because if they pushed the envelope, it probably could have been unfairly slapped with an R. (Cause the MPAA notoriously despises horror movies.)
So instead of taking risks, genuine risks, they pusssied into this awful middle ground that impresses nobody.
@@tyldrthepark64 And the movie is 13 plus. Which means Coraline, a kids movie, is somehow scarier than that...
Can’t believe it’s been six months, the hype was absolutely insane considering it’s hellish development cycle, and hearing the living tombstone in the end credits felt like yesterday. Wow, and now I’m waiting for the sequel
Hearted by ls mark let’s go

SIX MONTHS??
How many months ❔
I think going on a friday night surrounded by at least 50 other people who grew up with the game really made the movie special for me. Not as fun on rewatch, but the atmosphere and childhood wish fulfillment aspect of that night was just.. unforgettable. The staff were even in costume too and had set up a little scavenger hunt in the lobby. I still have my fnaf pizza box from that day saved.
probably the most fun movie experience ever, going in on opening night at like 8:50pm with the most crowded screening room ever filled with people cosplaying as characters, probably the most packed and crowded night the cinema had in years with everyone literally fighting for a seat. I can still remember audibly pointing out Matpats voice before he appeared on screen and how the room shook after he appeared. God it was so fucking fun.
That one kid you audibly yelled "WAS THAT THE BITE OF 87" in my audience really enhanced my experience
it was like the game version of the endgame theater experience,
Exactly. The first watch I was with all my friends and the theater was full of FNAF fans, the second watch was with a couple friends from work in an empty theater. Two completely different experiences
I will forever curse my introverted self for not going at opening night because I was too nervous to ask for tickets to the weird furry movie and so waited until I was asked to go. I guess I should be like Mike tho and let go of the past.
I think people forget the best part of the movie: motherfucking balloon boy. He has NO contribution to the plot, he only shows up THREE times in the movie, and every single time is a genuine fnaf 1 style jump scare, out of LITERALLY NOWHERE, returning to the plot immediately after it happens. Best character 20/10
It’s kind of crazy to hear that the FNAF movie went through so much production and script delays to have it finally be released, only for people to only talk about it having MatPat in it. I feel like if the movie was released in the 2015-2018 it’d be more remembered.
Matpat in the diner absolutely ruined any amount of me being able to take it seriously cause it was so jarring.
I can stretch my suspension of disbelief *REALLY* far, but that's where I draw the line.
how did i find you again wth
@@TyshaggyGaming i dunno i thought it was fun
it was just hype i dont think there is a world where a fnaf movie could be good, they either go down the vhs route, which sucks. Or they try and mimic the games which would also suck
@youraveragehotdog6836 I'm of the firm belief a FNAF movie, even a trilogy, could work (hell I'm working on a FNAF movie rewrite in the form of a novel). It just requires a bit of thinking outside the box, and an understanding of what makes a good story. Unfortunately all the official movie did was think inside the box, and not even the right box at that lol
The movie is a lot like the Mario Movie. It took a long time to make, critics and audiences completely disagree with each other, but they're lots of fun to watch.
I do kinda wish that both movies had more to them. The Mario Movie having the Charii5 rewrite, and FNAF having an R-rated cut.
I think the 2023 Mario movie is good, I just wish Luigi had a major role and it was (at least) 100 minutes long
@CaptainCat101, I agree. That's what they both needed.
@@mariajimenafigueroa233 I feel like Luigi being gone helped the film for when he got rescued it felt really good and happy though I do agree Toad needed more time and been guiding Mario as his partner and Peach got way too much time and should've either been removed or put in a way smaller role and the Mario and DK emotional scene should've been longer and would've been the best scene in the film.
If the FNAF Movie had a R-rated cut, then it wouldn't be FNAF...

Fnaf, the video game still legitimately frightens me in some weird primal way. I’m pretty disappointed that the movie wasn’t even remotely scary. It’s the bizarre paradox where children become interested in horror media because it feels taboo and edgy, only for that franchise to start pandering to them and getting rid of what had them hooked in the first place.
This is like if a Call of Duty movie adaption was made which exclusively panders to kids using the MCU formula, being a generally inoffensive action movie, yet a terrible war movie.
Yeah, the first four game still creeped me out especially the fourth game. I don’t know why the nightmare animatronics are creepy AF. Also spring traps design is truly genius easily one of my favorite horror characters ever.
Yeah seriously, the theater was jam-packed with kids and they started playing ads for kids' movies. I thought I sat down in the wrong room because of this.

22:26 What do you mean “they took the approach that later took center stage”? The animatronics have always been possessed by dead children, confirmed in the first game by the newspapers on the wall. The animatronics simply malfunctioning and seeing you as an endoskeleton was likely a lie told by phone guy to keep Mike from panicking.
well in the first game alot of things were more implied but never directly stated like much later. Yes you could put things together and assume the missing kids possessed the animatronics but even those newspapers were kinda hidden.
Can’t believe Mike Schmidt quit baseball just so he could be a FNAF security guard…
I forgot he was named after a baseball player tbh
@@BucketIHead idk if it was on purpose or not. But naming your character after the greatest 3rd baseman ever guarantees that your character will never be the top result for that name.
It sucks how much of a chokehold the Universal Mafia has on RUclips.
I’m sick of people not realizing this film is shit and are just blinded by the amazing work the Jim Henson Creature Shop did with the animatronics.
Yess, finally some said it 😅
Yeah, I've seen so many people defending the rotten tomatoes 87% audience score and it makes me wonder if we watched the same movie 🫤
It's funny how much more this movie takes from the novels than the actual games. Which I know kinda makes sense since the first few games don't really have that much a plot even with the lore in the background, but I find it funny how the "Five Nights" in a single room gimmick is barely utilized in this film.
I find it even funnier how a lot of it was taken from The Silver Eyes but was done worse in almost every way (and that's saying a lot because The Silver Eyes is good but very flawed)
Next one should be a bottle movie.
I kinda hate people who defend this movie as being meant for the fans, like the implication being that fans will accept any movie as long as there’s needless fan service, no matter how bad the movie is
Yess, fanservice does not equal a movie for the fans. A movie for the fans would delve into all the aspects that made the og games so good.
People honestly overreacted with critics, let's be real. Yes, critics may be unfair most of the time, but audiences give Wish a 85% despite getting bad reviews. Critics may have give bad movies high scores, but that dosen't mean audiences are completly flawless.
The critics didn't give the movie you like a 90% or higher? Big deal. But you then realized that you found some flaws (A couple plot holes, rushed pacing, some characters weren't giving enough spot light, etc).
It's nice that we're getting video game movies that are faithful to the games, but the live-action Barbie movie told me that flim adaptions need more then just references to be good.
That’s part of the reason why I’m conflicted on it being as big of a financial success that it was.
On one hand I’m glad that the FNAF film was so successful because then that means more people will be exposed to it and the franchise can expand.
However, on the other hand the fact that it did so well while having this many flaws could lead to the very real possibility that in the sequel, the filmmakers will either keep or double down on the aspects that don’t make this franchise scary. Out of a misguided sense that those aspects are precisely why the first film did so well
I dont understand why nobody mentions William saying "I always come back!" As he's dying because like haha funny reference but it makes no fucking sense at all. Like how have we been shown that he always comes back? It completely took me out of the scene and I'm still mad about it
I think it’s more to show his complete confidence/ lack of fear of death. It’s just a way to show that he’s definitely coming back in the sequels. Then again, I kinda wished we saw what the novels did (the scars on him from a previous spring lock accident) just to give the line more context
The fact we got him saying that which doesn't even make sense in context yet we didn't get Afton's best line to date:
John (or Mike in the movie's context idk): "And what makes you think they won't kill you?"
Afton: "Because I am one of them."
Seeing Matthew Lillard saying something like that would've went hard.
I would've even taken "You can't" because that could've fit easier and they should've saved the "I always come back" line for Springtrap
I think it’s supposed to be his ego rather than literal when he says it before he actually comes back, like how the richest of society have a deluded sense of grandeur even though they can’t escape death better than anyone else either
That part was definitely a forced reference
@@moltenspaget4370 nah they definitely should've just saved that line for a sequel because we already have it confirmed there will be a trilogy and he's William Mothafuckin Afton of course he's gonna return
I wish they didn't make the aunt such an antagonist. I rather her be a supportive, but tough love kind of character. Like Mike is constantly messing up and is responsible for a child. I could see her being a safety net for Abby, to make sure she has a roof over her head since she's doubtful of Mike keeping a stable source of income. That would be a much better and reasonable motivation than wanting child support money, especially since the aunt seems pretty well off.
It was too childish for me. I get it’s a kids game whatever but it made it kinda lame. I hate the fort building scene like what they’re dead kids y’all aren’t scared at all? The whole child who talks to ghost trope is annoying .
Yea its whack,
THIS!
I know these guys are kids and all, but c'mon! They didn't NEED a scene like that!
And even if they did, wouldn't it make more sense to have it take place before the scene with the burglars? That way, it would do a better job of showing the audience their true colours: they may be kids, but they're far from completely innocent.
@worthybutter2004 I agree with this so much because one of the biggest problems I had is how they took away the autonomy of the animatronics. The way they tried to lessen the severity of their actions by saying "William Afton is controlling them" was weird and not explained very well either.
Isn't one of the biggest horror aspects of the first game is that these animals can clearly move and think for themselves when you know they shouldn't? They're way more deceptive and unpredictable than they appear. And like you said, even if they're children, they're still commiting some pretty horrific murders. This could've been a way more interesting aspect of the film to explore.
I work from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. and I rely on the camera to tell me when customers are here. No joke, that *Talking In Your Sleep* song does come on randomly, and the first time I heard it at 3:00 a.m. I was like "there's no way"

The problem was the terrible promotion and the writing was abysmal by the series' standards
@@SeanLecca Agreed But that's my point. There's at least SOME level of competence and effort in those other movies beyond just the superficial application of the "look of the game" cause otherwise they'd all be in the same level as the ratchet film

I definitely like your idea of Mike finding out about why Freddy’s closed via an old newspaper, and it works well with the games as well. The first semblance of lore we got from it was from the random newspaper clipping what would something’s show up on camera. Speaking of, I kind of wish the played more into that as well. Sure there is that one glimpse of “It’s Me” and all but take it further. Have it so that some stuff changes playing with Mikes mind. Some posters show up randomly, the employee of the month pictures are changed out to the kids he sees in his dreams, etc.
Overall though I do think the film we got was fine and it’s a great starting point, though I do hope they take the critiques and implement them in the sequels.
From what the creator himself said, after the movie released, he said he listened to the critique and is going to basically do his best to implement it. So while we don't know if it'll be way better than the first film, I'm sure there'll be a lot of improvements regardless. :)
it feels so, so SO great to hear your thoughts on this movie because it's EXACTLY how i felt watching this movie when it came out. it was such a disappointment to see them take such a tame, lame approach to a genuinely terrifying concept, and make it so dull and unappealing it's just comedic, so far away removed to what it actually made the first game so scary in the first place and make a mockery out of it. i've loved this franchise for years and grew up with it, despite not being a fan of the later entries. so seeing the movie weve waited years for be such a letdown was so disheartening and frustrating. seeing you share the exact same thoughts i had while watching just feels so cathartic as weird as that sounds, and more people should really know to praise something when it really TRULY deserves it. this doesn't. not everything is negative but most of it is.
at the end of the day, it's just a silly movie, there are more important things to worry about, but the impact this franchise made on my life isn't to be glossed over. it means a lot to hear someone agree and actually criticize the movie for what it is. hoping the next movie is actually good, but i am not holding my breath knowing how much of a disappointment this first one was.
Omg I feel exactly the same way, I totally agree with you.
before i watch this video, i want to say that my biggest complaint was that vanessa wasnt killed off. i think the it would have made the weight of how bad they wanted afton, actually hit. it definitely would have had me leaving the theater thinking "wow that is a terrible father"
they probably have plans for her character in the sequels
I think a good direction for her character in the sequel is a sort of internal redemption arc. While in a coma she experiences flashbacks of herself and William Afton in his prime during the peak of Freddy's (which would give us some lovely Matthew Lillard screentime) and show us how she was a culprit in his crimes, but most importantly their relationship. I always thought it would be way creepier if Vanessa wasn't Afton's biological daughter but he just stole her from a young age and manipulated her, maybe with the promise (and lie) that he knows about the supernatural and can bring back one of her deceased loved ones or something, because bro's a weirdo, but either way we definitely need an expansion on their relationship, and an expansion on Afton in general because he is barebones in the movie if you ask me.
Unfortunately I don't think we're going to get that. I think Vanessa will be out of her coma immediately in the second film, they explore the second location, Springtrap pops up out of nowhere, and they defeat him in five minutes like the first film. Then the cycle repeats for the third film.
I'm still of the belief that the only way the animatronics can directly kill slmeone without it risking looking stupid is by biting them or choking them out. Other examples like Bonnie punching the player in tjoc or Chica's cupcake eating someone's face look so ridiculous
I would totally watch bonnie deck joshy the whistle man in the face
In FNAF 1 I always thought they jumpscared you, grabbed you while you were still conscious, and then shoved you in the suit alive, which I guess happened in the movie but Mike was such a heavy sleeper bro didn't wake lol
As a kid I always imagined they went at you like a chimpanzee does, biting and tearing at the face ripping off your nose and lips, tearing off fingers while you're still alive until you pass out from the trauma (and then get stuffed into a suit)
Otherwise it was kinda goofy to imagine the big furry suit just punching you lol
@@vespernight4236i thought the same thing (not as a kid tho). It just feels the most horrific
Thinking about it, Mike telling the police about Freddy Fazbear's and what happened to willaim would've been the perfect lead in for a sequel.
Have it cold open on a group of officers going into the ruins of the pizza place, slowly getting killed one-by-one by the withered animatronics and springtrap (or maybe exclusively springtrap to make him feel like more of a threat), with the final kill hard-cutting to the title.
Man I’m sure glad this video didn’t get taken down the day it was supposed to be released by Universal which caused Mark to have to delay this video by a day
I feel like one of the things that worked really well in the game that they didn't really do in the movie was the basic horror of noticing something inanimate has moved without seeing it move, there's a sort of self gaslighting sense of doubt that makes anyone go "I'm imagining things, that can't have moved"
Exactly, that's what made the first game scary. You look away, then look back and they're somewhere else, which implies that A. They know when you're watching them
And B. They know they're not supposed to be seen moving
It gives them juuuust enough sentience and agency without revealing too much.
I agree, it gave the first game a sort of weeping angel effect, especially if you go in as blind as possible and aren't sure how the animatronics can move and how tiny the differences could be. Also how the shadows obscured the characters in a lot of the camera angles in the first game made it really hard to tell what or who you were looking at.
Dude mark the bite of 83 intro you talked about was exactly what i wanted, if the story was really about micheal afton (yes i think movie mike isnt mike afton) that would have been perfect
But that wouldn't make sense because the crying child doesn't exist in the movies timeline. In this timeline Mike's brother Garret is most likely the puppet instead of Golden Freddy. Why would they show something that doesn't exist in the timeline? But hey, who knows. Maybe I'm wrong and it'll be in the sequel 🤷🏻♂️
@@DiamondWorldRUclips thats why I said if the story was really about Micheal Afton not this alternate mike

question is though will it suffer from the same problems of the fanf film by the filmakers toning down the creepines out of fear of scaring away the kid fans
Until Dawn is also happening, that should be interesting
Dead By Daylight is supposed to get a film by the same studio that made FNAF. Who knows if it ever gets made though
Fun fact, in the movie's novelization, mike was more proactive in figuring out the mysteries and oddities of Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria. I learned about it from here: ruclips.net/video/p_RaeZZKhs8/видео.htmlsi=vbhJIMchisDivC22. By The way, here's an older version of the script (which is apparently R rated): ruclips.net/video/TdJ2G9jO75w/видео.htmlsi=VJTMBY090fI_Nu5U
Well, that's good. Must've been based on an earlier script.
At least, it means we get to see Mike actually DO his job.
I heard it might have been taken out so Mike won't be compared to other theorists in the FNAF community @@worthybutter2004.
I think the only part of this movie that made me giddy as a FNAF fan was seeing how good the animatronics themselves actually look, as well as how nice the set is for the pizzeria, and seeing William Afton’s death translated into live action, along with the bit at the end where he’s dying in the back room.
Other than that, in my opinion, I find it bad yet enjoyable as a fan of the series.
I really like that last piece of advice.
Is something recent that was mentioned with other adaptations: they point out the absurdity or silliness of some of the elements of the source material as a way to tell the audience "we know, just go with it":
I think the One Piece live-action adaption managed to avoid that issue. They were not afraid to take themselves seriously, which can really help the audience to be more invested about that world. Thankfully they didn't make the mistake to break the illusion by saying "This is not how it works in the real world, snails can't talk and it's weird, but ignore we said that to you and enjoy anyway".
I'm a FNAF fan but I wanted a movie that could stand well on its own and be somewhat timeless. I feel like steering away from a darker tone to accommodate for more general audiences was a bit detrimental. The movie isn't a horror movie. But it had all the right ingredients to be. Focusing more on the kids and what happened in the 80s would have worked really well. Anyways, maybe each movie could open with a different death and the next one could be the bite of 87.
I’m bummed that we got matpat in the FNAF movie but for George Clooney returning as Batman in the flash we didn’t get nostalgia critic.

When I watched this movie I was expecting sh*t my pants scares like what I experie when I first played the game. But when it devolved into the animatronics being friendly and fun I only thought "this is not what I had in mind for a movie based off FNAF"
plus 0/10 for them not giving us the 10 minute sex scene with Markiplier and Freddy Fazbear with Matpat dissecting each second and angle for lore
This was honestly the worst movie I saw last year. And this was rated 15, and it did NOT deserve that rating.

I watched it even though I'm not a FNAF's fan, And it was honestly very interesting imo! And I especially enjoyed the performances of Josh Hutcherson and Matthew Lillard he did an amazing job as the villain of the movie though it doesn't nearly top his performances in the Scream movies.
Agreed, but didn’t watch it for the horror. It was PG 13 it was obviously not going to be scary, unfortunately. I would LOVE a FNAF horror movie but I’m still happy with what we got and how CLOSE it was tied to/respected the source material. The movie was ass. The first half was pretty fine, but it completely fell apart at the end
Yeah I thought it was doing okay until the second half
39:57 most serial killers genuinely do that
I love how mark censors his face here even though he’s shown it before lol
I went into the FNAF movie expecting a stupid cheesy B-Movie horror film, and I feel I got that exactly. It was perfectly cheesy for me and was a blast to watch, even if it’s fundamentally flawed and not very scary.
I feel like movie companies forgot that Thriller is a genre and just list thriller movies as horror
Glad you could upload this, been waiting for it 🙏🏾
Simply making this movie rated R would make it sooo much better.

Not to be rude
This is blatantly not true
It’s pretty obviously hinted they move because they’re possessed and the whole “free roaming mode” is just a bullshit lie from phone guy and fazbear ent.
Maybe I misunderstood your point but that is heavily alluded to never being the case
I hope Mark was fired for that blunder.
Mark: Do you know what's scarier than Freddy Fazbear?

*OOH OOH TEMU. OOH OOH TEMU . ALL OF MY NIGHTMARES CAME TRUE*
I think with more and more live action adaptations coming out now, it seems like a generally vague rule that they can be faithful but up to a certain degree. It's like finding a nice freshly paved road then noticing that there are large pieces of the road taken out, then the remaining ends are smushed together. They just drop so incredibly nonchalantly "oh yeah they're haunted by dead kids btw" halfway through. Not to mention springtrap showing up in the very first movie to begin with. If this is setting up his return in the third, then i'm not really going to care since he was introduced so late and dispatched so easily
markiplier crying on each fnaf scene is gold
Ive literally been unable to breathe from laughing at it popping up
I have rlly stupid humor
I’m upset there wasn’t any pizza in the film. There was spaghetti and burgers, but no pizza.
How could they
Willy's Wonderland was unironically better, actually funny & the soundtrack was good.
Ik, had a better time with that movie than the FNAF movie. It was fun bad, FNAF was just bad
Oh btw its not child support payments, its adoption payments. Since Abby has lost her parents and also a siblings that was kidnapped she would be able to increase her monthly support to 2k+ a month even more if she claims shes having to take her to loads of therapy.
I miss when Mark had enough balls to just say his opinion and not give me a 10-minute expose as to why I shouldn't dox him before he says his opinion on RUclips
deadass like the fans will like damn near anything they got, the animatronics and set look great and i do like mike and abby’s dynamic but like mark said it’s not scary. i find it disappointing and a bit underwhelming
The fact you gotta spell this out to people to not get a bunch of hate comments is sad. People wanna be right or wrong more than they wanna actually engage with discussions.
It’s the double standard of if you’re making a positive review, you can insult the critics as much as you want, but if you’re making a negative review, people expect a ton of respect
glad you were finally able to get this video out! i’m excited
This pretty much sums up my thoughts on the movie. The sets and animatronics look amazing, and everything, so a surface level, look pretty good, but it's so hilariously not scary and lame at times, that it really negates the scary atmosphere of the first game. I remember when the movie first came out, much like the Mario Movie, fans of the franchise were praising it to the high heavens, while most other viewers (even ones who were fans) didn't really care for it. Most people just thought it was good for the references and such, but then later came to realize that just having references don't make good movies. I thought the Mario Movie was great when I watched it in theaters, but now just think it's alright after having rewatched it a few times. I feel the same for the FNAF movie (though I haven't felt the need to rewatch it, cause it was just alright on my first viewing.) I hope Scott, and the whole crew, take notes from this film's reception, to make a genuinely good sequel!
I am making a sandwich rn I will eat it when I’m done
Edit: I have made the sandwich and have eaten the sandwich it was like 7.5/10
What kind of sandwich was it
@@nateeeeeeeeeeeeeee a pb and j
@@Tacomanyay that's a good sandwich I'd reccomend salami and provolone
i can’t believe it took you pointing it out for me to realize that there really is no mention or suggestion of the Bite of 87, or any Bite event in general. the closest suggestion is probably Max’s death showing how deadly the animatronic’s can be. it’s still REALLY odd there was no mention of it given how that was the big Mystery Lore of the first game, it was one of the things about the game that had everybody making theories and trying to figure out the story at all. to not have arguably a vital part of what made FNAF become popular at all in the movie is strange.
i went into the movie assuming that Scott was using it as his chance to redo the FNAF story overall, looking at the games now it’s very easy to see that he had no solid idea of what story he wanted to tell at the beginning, so i was down with whatever would happen. it was interesting to see what parts of the story he used, it’s not my place to consider the movie the ‘true canon telling of the story’ but i think considering the mess that is the FNAF games timeline, the movies will have a much more definitive and easy to understand timeline lmao
edit: while i’m sad Mark didn’t appear in the movie i’m kind of glad he didn’t, mainly bcs i would have been personally mad at him getting killed off at the very beginning when he’s the kING. OF FIVE NIGHTS AT- (you also make a valid point about the tone, it would have been confusing and everybody would have been screaming too much to hear any line he would have said)
At least for a pg-13 film it actually has really good gore.
Most horror movies rely on disgusting or unrealistic gore scenes,
imo I think it feels cheesy when horror movies do that but the fnaf movie actually surprised me.
movie sucks springtrap didn't fuck matpat unlike the books it was based on
I'm dying 🤣
I liked almost everything in this movie, except the horror. And that stupid ass fort scene like who decided to put that in a horror movie?
Glad you finally managed to release this. Studios are really sensetive to fair use lmao
I just think it sucks that after 13 scripts this was the best one they had
Wondered what the worst script was
I truly doubt that it was
Is it really that surprising though? When you've had to remake an entire scipt 13 times this is the best you could hope for from the burnt out writers
They had an original script where it was supposed to be R rated like I don’t know what they were thinking when they made this movie PG-13 it’s ridiculous
@@Kelsey1987 There's a video on what the R-rated script contains, its basically the same as what we got but a little worse in some ways, with some extra gore, and with some other interesting concepts not present in the final script but all in all I think the r-rated script was far worse.
Okay as someone who's still with the franchise and saw the ENTIRE journey of this series, I knew this movie wasn't gonna be a proper horror film.
There are a couple of factors as to why, but the BIGGEST reason is because now Five Nights at Freddy's is played for younger kids' audience nowadays, when in reality, it wasn't at first.
The first 4 games nailed the horror feel and the scary atmosphere to their environments and characters... but then we got FNAF WORLD, a cutesy version of those characters... then we got Sister Location, where that was the start of the more sci-fi elements of the franchise, then with games like Pizza Simulator, Help Wanted, Security Breach, those games kinda sucked out what was left of the horror aspect of the series.
That's kinda why I really like Ruin and Help Wanted 2, because while yes, they still have the sci-fi elements, they managed to bring back the horror that's been sorely missing from the games. And this is coming from a guy who LOVED the movie. Like by the end, I thought to myself " could've been more terrifying, but hey, I'm just glad a Five Nights at Freddy's movie finally exists."
I keep hearing that the sequel will focus more on being a proper horror movie, and while I doubt they'll go the full on horror, it would be nice to see this series fully go back to its horror roots.
I have to mention this: I love how MatPat was tied to the movie. The very beginning of the movie had the concept of Dream Theory shown to the viewer as a central focus, so "It's just a theory" works in two ways.
I love the anti copyright crying Markiplier.
If im going to be honest mark
I think fnaf movie is a 9/10 pacing could of been better
But when i first saw it I did expect it to he bad
But it genuinely surprised me of how much it takes from mostly the first game but it also took alot from the franchise as whole with the references and such
But most importantly it truly captures fnaf 1 the ambience
People complain it should of been more gory
But that wasn't fnaf 1 it focus more on the unnerving factor
And it captures it perfectly it truly felt like fnaf 1 came to life however the biggest thing is this movie is a perfect love letter to the franchise
Including matpat cory maybe mark in the sequel altho i wanted him more in fnaf 1 since he helped the game take off back in 2014
Even tho critics didn't like it i doubt it was made for critics
Like the Mario movie it was made for the fans of the franchises
As someone who’s been anticipating this film ever since I was 12, I didn’t expect this to be good. The overall experience however, watching it with other Fnaf fans (five times to be exact) was so charming and delightful. It was something I wanted so badly. When you’re told as a kid that the thing you like makes you look stupid and worthless, it’s nice to see that there’s so many other people who love it just as much as you do and that’s ok.
Coraline and Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark are both PG-13 horror films that dont look down on their audiences and actually build up suspence and tone with their sense of terror. If FNAF had a more clear sense of what it wanted to be, it could've had that same sense of stakes whilst being suitable for the franchise's child audience. Fan service should be a fun addition to a film, not a replacement for a solid story.
I LOVE the fnaf movie, but I wish it wasn't as safe as it was and they took itself more seriously, fnaf isn't usually a franshise that just tells you the lore, I mean look at the games.
I just hope that the Fnaf 2 movie has a more serious tone to it, and also I hope Vannessa and Abby take a bit of a backseat in it, Vanessa alone gives mike company in the pizzaria losing that being the only one at the night shift kinda feel. And Abby alone forces the scenes to be safe and appeal more to children ensuring that nothing too graphic is done or being said in a scene.
Anyway, those are just my thoughts, I can't wait for the Fnaf 2 movie next year :D
I think the movie woulda been better if they captured that creepy feeling when you see one of the animatronics in the camera just staring at you. The glowing red eyes was a mistake too, they should just have kept those dead eyes the animatronics have. Woulda made it way scarier
Yeah, the eyes they have in the movie look like they need some Clear Eyes for their dry eyes or are high AF ☠️
That's why it's called a thriller 😭
My guy THAT'S WHY IT'S CALLED A THRILLER 😭
42:38 The best depiction of springlock failure imo is from Battington's "nonexistent video." It's a brief scene, but I feel it depicts the horror way better than the movie's version.
Yo, you got it posted, that’s awesome
Also how come Mike doesn’t give a reaction when it’s the same guy who hired him.
Fun fact: Chica is the only animatronic to not kill anyone.
I know Matthew (actor of William Afton) signed for a trilogy, but to be honest? I don’t want him in the second movie. Definitely the third but I feel like the second movie should be based around the second location.
Maybe throw in a couple mentions of Garret but I want Michael to try and move on a bit with his life in the second movie now that he knows who did it to his brother. centre the second movie around the toy animatronics and make it so the withers perhaps lost their memories due to being damaged to make it actually scary. Michael trying to survive all those nights without being killed by several animatronics whilst trying to wind up the music box and have the last night them all attacking him at once as well as the puppet. Maybe throw in a plot twist to do with the puppet being related to Garret in some way. Maybe just have William Afton be in a couple of flashbacks whilst Vanessa also tries to move forward with her life after recovering with Michael.
In the third movie have William finally return as spring trap and base it around maybe Michael and Vanessa finding out he’s alive in an end credit scene of the second movie. Then the third movie can be them trying to find ways to get rid of Afton for good but they need to give the kids their happiest day before being allowed to destroy the place for good to end the cycle of animatronics not being able to move on.
Anyways that was just my take.
Only real Sigmas know that he uploaded this same video the other day
guess I'm a real one 🗿
What an Aries thing to say smh
comment brain rot is real
“The other day” it was only yesterday….
@@jordaniX1I’m not sure if you understand that I said that ironically?
my favorite cousin invited me to watch this movie with him and I felt really underwhelmed. All I had to say was, "it's okay"
I feel fnaf is not a horror franchise anymore. Scott started it as a gruesome horror game, then he saw how many kids watched and played his games and decided to make a 180 and change the direction completely, thats the reason i stopped caring about it, it seriously feels like a kids franchise instead of an actual creepy game with horrific lore.
Same, I don’t think it was Scott who changed the direction. Pretty sure security breach was the first game with that approach.
@@HallowzDev This movie is not close to being how the og games were, this is literally a children horror movie. Guess who directed this?
