    Quality video Ammar! normally I would say great as alway, but this video is next level! I'm stoked to see your comparison video and maybe a 2WD torque/range test. FYI, It wasn't me who did the acceleration video, it was Xianyu, an exway fan from China. Thank you for your support to exway and were looking forward to having you in our 5th exway carnival in Shenzhen, China!

    Exway has to either change their testing methodology for range or start giving realistic values. They’ve done this “2nd gear” testing on flat terrain on all their new boards and they keep giving values 20-30% bigger than real world results. I totally get that in this space that range is respectable, but it still doesn’t excuse giving non-representative values on their store page. Great review and very thorough! Excited to see some actually new stuff for eskating!

      @@ASeSkater No problem dude. Question, do you experience any leg pain or fatigue riding the Atlas? I had an Evolve Carbon GTR a few years ago, loved it. But after like 30 mins of riding it, my legs really hurt.
      Do the AT wheels and foam grip tape help absorb road vibration and negate fatigue since the board is carbon and doesnt flex?
      Exway has a black friday sale and im probably gonna by an Atlas 2wd.

    • @ASeSkater
      @ASeSkater  2 года назад +1

      @@timhealy7335 To be honest yes I do with the street wheels. Not nearly as much with the AT’s and foam griptape as they really help with softening out the vibrations. Of course though it’s a carbon deck so it’s less comfortable overall than a flexible bamboo board would be, but it’s an essential compromise to be able to ride high speed with stability

    Nice job - really well done and for the most part objective. It’s hard not to call the range out as a negative though. You had identified this as an issue with Evolve boards and stated that Exway had solved it with the atlas - 12-15 miles on AT’s is not really a solution to range, Evolve goes further in the same situation - accepted though that this is 4WD.

    • @ASeSkater
      @ASeSkater  3 года назад +1

      Thanks a lot Mark. Really appreciate you watching and your kind words. I think in terms of range the 4wd Atlas and GTR are neck and neck for me. I think in the conclusion I put a “😐” emoji there instead of “😁” to indicate that it’s sort of the same. Maybe I should’ve stated that instead of just messing with emojis haha. Appreciate your feedback

    Hello, for me 4WD is a bit gimmicky, heavy and drains the battery. There are super powerful boards using 2WD. How do you feel about the board today? Compared to Lycaon TRX 3.0 which is cheaper? One thing I do not like about Exway is they use their proprietary wheels so you have to buy pulleys and all for others. They also charge extra for everything. What do you think?

    Big kudos Ammar on this write up, I stumbled into your channel while looking at Evolve GTR videos and loved how honest you are with your experience. I'm relatively new to the esk8 scene and own a OneWheel currently which I've been enjoying. I've had a growing interest of the Evolve Carbon GTR but have seen all these Exway Atlas reviews pop up! As a new rider in mind, I would be considering the Evolve Carbon GTR, would the Exway Atlas be way too much for a beginner? :D

    • @ASeSkater
      @ASeSkater  3 года назад +2

      Hey Adrian. Thanks for the nice words and thanks for being here! To answer your question, no the Atlas wouldn’t be too much for a beginner because you can ride in lower gears until you’re used to the board, and you can also limit the power through the app. Between those two boards I would definitely go for the Atlas, it’s better and more refined in every way. The Gtr is old tech now, and you will get bored of the power on it very quickly

    I don't like a few things about the ECS. There's no way to change the top speeds for the gears. First gear is always useless, I'd love for the 2nd gear top out at 25km/h instead of 20. The power delivery is weird too. When going uphill in 2nd, the board just will run out of power. My other board just feeds as much power as it needs to maintain a set speed, but on the Atlas I have to switch to a higher gear to make it up steeper hills.

    Hello again, I have some thoughts on the Atlas. I think it lacks wheel options in the same manner as for example Eovan. 90 mm street wheels are not ideal I think on a stiff huge board and I am not into pneumatic ATs. Also do not like that they use their own pulleys and wheels and no other options as well as Exway seems to want to sell everything after you buy the board rather than having that as choices from the start. Cheers

    Two wheel front drive should be an option. Most cars have that these days for a reason.

    Hey mate, first of all, great, detailed review. Congrats for your work.
    But I still have a few things, I would like to say. The innovation in Esk8 is running at the moment and everybody is pushing. That is great, competition is good and makes things better. The boards getting better. But here is the thing with the Exway Atlas.
    In my opinion, the battery is definitely not well planned and should be criticised. Let me explain. We are talking about a 4WD and round about 500WH. That is not so much and 20 km range with an average consumption of 25WH/km is not that far. It is close to their advertised range, especially with more weight. That’s true, but isn’t the real question, why did they use only a 12S4P setup with 30Q and not a 12S4P with 21700 cells? That is the elephant in the room. The price of the board already shocked everybody, so why not 100$ more and better/stronger cells? Build everything to fit them, right from the beginning. That question should be asked. That is for me the one important point. Than it would be really worth the money. And a bigger charger, 3,5 hours to fully charge the board? That is definitely not fast and to long! 2nd question to be asked.
    And another thing for me personally, I don’t like to deal with Chinese manufactures directly, if something went wrong with my board. Let‘s see, what the Future will bring and if Exway really gets the customer support sorted out. Only time can tell. At the moment, I wouldn’t purchase a board over 2000$ without any direct customer support. With my other boards, I know exactly who to call, if something is wrong. With any Chinese manufacturer, no clue.
    Thanks again for this great footage.
    Cheers!

      @@esk8cave205 I believe due to shortage of the 18650's they are indeed now using the 21700's 🐘

    The belt covers... rubbish, I had so much belt rub on them.. Exway couldn't figure out a solution, so I left them off.. The grab handle.. it's lovely to look at, but the base plate is rubbish and too thin. My board rolled in my car which bent the handle and I spent 2 weeks figuring out how to straighten it and flatten it.. I think the base plate is too thin for this weight board!, more instruction on how the wheels fit on.. washers.. spacers, etc... I found that I've just had to guess the configuration on each wheel type to make the wheel fit without many issues....

    sorry but Im still not impress with that board and I still think its overprice I think Exway just teased everybody so much saying board was coming soon in May 2020 which was far to be true , also with all that amazing range and speed they were advertising ( Up to 60kmh top speed and 50KM range! ATLAS will speak for itself ! #exway Born For Freedom ) its impossible to get the speed and the range that was first advertise on one setting so it was bullshit ,on 4wd might get you the 60kmh speed but nowhere near the 50km range advertise , 2wd might get you the 50km range if you are supper light and ride super slow but you will never get the 60kmh speed advertise . so can I go for a ride with the Atlas and get that 60kmh speed and 50km range , no you cant !!!!

    Nice spin with that mid tier price crap. This upper tier pricing...and doesn't compare to the. Cycle eagle / propel 4wd board with real suspension and swappable batteries. You clearly a shill for exway bra!
