Alien is just so defining and unforgettable, came at right time in my life personally, obsidian is amazing and is a great sort of continuation to Alien, but man..... Alien, its been out for almost 4 years now and it still feels new, its one of those albums that i just cannot get tired of listening to.
I prefer Obsidian more than Alien because it's very innovative and refreshing. Tracks like: Abomination, Plenty, Obsidian and Cypher are the best mixes of metalcore and electronic music ever. But still, both albums are alright! Obsidian focuses more on that "Eclipse" sound from Alien and improves it a lot. I really need a mashup of new Northlane and original Mirror's Edge [Combat/Chase/Puzzle] soundtrack. And yea, i know that's weird, but this might actually work if you put: guitars, vocals and breakdowns on top of this soundtrack, i hope they will go deeper into this dark sci-fi electronic sound.
Alien 1 million percent over Obsidian. Obsidian was… aight. I loved Plenty, Clockwork, and Carbonized. But I just wasn’t feeling the edm dance stuff as much. Alien had this dark gritty soundscape. Then again, Alien is one of my all time fav albums
obsidian gonna be recognised properly in a few years time. its way more experimental than alien in the best ways and has more creative freedom with its production and how the tracks are structured. alien is pure class tho

I almost had a heart attack when i saw the 13vs13 on freefall vs inammorata and in the end the best song of alien for me won
right! lmaoo freefall is one of the best on alien and inamorata is one of my least favorite off of obsidian imo

Not even close. Alien. I listened to obsidian 5 times through. And they were forced listens to try and let it grow. It just doesn't.

alien is still iconic, so different for the time and feels fresh to this day. 4D has been on my "on repeat" for years on spotify lol.

I also listened to obsidian first but right now I mostly just listen to alien so I don't think it really matters what you hear first😂
