    Mark Carney did not talk about several big issues: declines in GDP per capita (in the context of massive immigration), declining industrial productivity (post and pre-pandemic), relatively low research and development spending (compared with other industrialized countries), ballooning federal deficits funded by Bank of Canada money printing- along with massive increases in government debt serving costs. Too many easy questions to a guy who's polling at twice the popularity of Trudeau.

    • @professorakiba434
      @professorakiba434 6 месяцев назад +3

      Because some of the things you are making noise about aren't big issues. Case in point Bank of Canada printing money and connecting it to ballooning deficits. One ballooning deficits begin with the previous Conservative government because it was a Liberal government that had balanced budgets. Printing money came into prominence as a result of the credit crisis that came as part the Great Recession in 2008 and again was a consequence not of this Liberal government but the previous Conservative government. While I agree with you that ballooning deficits under the Liberals are a problem, voters chose higher deficits when they brought in Trudeau in 2015. He didn't hide the fact that was going to be policy.

      Nah, the carbon tax's contribution to inflation is .15% or virtually zero. Alberta economist Trevor Tombe has shown that axing the tax would benefit the wealthy. Canadians who earn less than $250,000 per year - get more back in carbon rebates than they pay in carbon tax. When will conservatives ever acknowledge that climate change is increasing costs and causing hardship for Canadians?
      In 2023, the hottest year ever recorded - when Canada experienced its worst ever wildfire season - 60% of small & medium sized businesses in Canada reported being impacted by record wildfires, damaging storms, floods, and heat domes - with 51% experiencing increased operating costs as a result - and 44% reporting a direct loss of income. Theses are stats from KPMG, the world's largest accounting firm.

    Canada can't absorb and safely accommodate half million newcomers a year. We don't have such a vast housing supply, and never will be. Our immigration system worked perfectly before Trudeau, when quantity of newcomers could safely find a rent within an acceptable price range. And also most of the newcomers were skilled trades or with degree and ability to adapt and find occupation without putting strain on a system and taxpayers.

    If a family pays on average $500 more towards the carbon tax to potentially mitigate our overall impact I can understand if it's done responsibly (which it isn't). What I can not understand is why oligopolies like Rogers & Bell are allowed to do as they please in the telecom space without competition. We have a few phones within my immediate family and a 25% reduction in those service fees would more than cover the carbon tax. Further, a reduction in data rate fees would reduce the need for broadband services in several hard to reach areas. Rocket Science. In Canada cell phones are more important than climate change apparently.

    Two Canadians out of three are disapproving of the Justin Trudeau government!
    The two Canadians out of three are saying that the Justin Trudeau government has done a poor or very poor job to help make housing more affordable!
    The Liberals MPs have a short-sighted vision if they still believe in a Justin Trudeau come back !
    One Liberals MP from NL had the courage to raise the issue about the elephant in the room!
    But he received no support from other MPs! The courageous MP was forced to back down!
    A true leader is not afraid to answer questions about his leaderships!
    During a cabinet retreat, all issues, all questions must be debated!
    The Liberals still have to the time, before the 2025 election, to find a new leader.
