FIFINE AM8 DYNAMIC MICROPHONE REVIEW - HOW DOES IT STACK UP FOR GAMING, STREAMING, CONTENT CREATION
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 5 июл 2024
- Review of the Fifine AM8 which is a entry level $50 microphone. I compare the Fifine AM8 dynamic microphone to my SHURE SM7B via phone, usb, and XLR with a GoXLR mini. I am aiming this review towards the beginner content creators, streamers, and gamers out there. Thus, I avoid many technical details.

his name is revan the nub and that was a microphone test
😂
I'm commander Shepard, and this is my favorite microphone test on the citadel.
😂😂😂😂
For $50 that's pretty slick. Definitely punches above it's weight class.
I just bought the Fifine Microphone and it is absolutely worth it.
A fine revew for a fifine microphone. I think in future reviews coming up with presets that could be used with your specific XLR interface or even just on the nobs vs no preset cleanup could show how a mic like this could be tweeked to sound amazing.
Thank you Revan! Definitely a quality review video! Keep up the good job👍 Btw, your cat is so cute~
I will never forget your name because of this mic test bro.
I agree
Holy, yeah you can hear the difference between the Fifine and the Shure, but it sounded so good for a tenth of the price it sure is amazing! I think I know what mic I'm gonna be buying now, thank you!
I'd love to own an SM7B one day, but I'm definitely going to need to bust my ass to afford one. I love chunky looking mics that still look modern, so this is right up my alley- I've been running with the K669B from the same manufacturer for two or three years now and with a wind screen it's passable but I'm definitely looking for upgrades lol. Looks like this one fits the bill :)
Also you must to add sound filter in any mic's for get the best sound , Buy the lower price and add sound filter i think that's a good idea For save your money
Very nice video! May I ask how long the usb cable is? I just can't find anything about the length online.
Hi! The cable appears to be about 6ft
@revanthenub Thank you, sir!
Hey, maybe a bit late and of topic, but what in ear do you use 1:39 ? I am thinking of switching form my regular headset, because of the typical headphone hair.
Fiio fh3 great budget iem. I've had them for almost 2 years and work great
@@revanful I literally just bought those today, I also bought this mic today 😂
I picked up the SM7B paired with the GOXLR Mini
Aight i was hesitating but as it is Kora approved, i ll order one from amazon today!
does it have windows software for further tuning like mv7 ?
Does the dual output (USB & XLR) of AM8 operate alternately or can they be used simultaneously? If they can be used simultaneously, is it possible as a backup in case one of them encounters an issue? How about K688? Can the USB & XLR be used simultaneously? I appreciate your assistance.
The USB & XLR of both the AM8 and K688 can work simultaneously! And most of these types of mics should do, so yes, you can definitely use one of the connections for the audio backup.
Did u do any tweaking with the AM8 on xlr, or just plug and go?
Plug and go. If I tweaked it it would have sounded better
It didn’t sounds better then the Shure until you changed it to Xlr. It sounds way better with Xlr.
My snowball doesn't even pick up my keyboard and it's on my desk even though I don't think I pound my board that hard like damn... but I'm definitely getting it
My snowball was terrible about it! Thats crazy! thanks for sharing.
I don't think anyone using XLR would be buying a 50 dollar mic. That's a really strange feature. Great review though, thanks for the work!
I think it would be part of an upgrade cycle. Use via USB -> buy xlr and use via xlr -> buy better mic
@@revanful now they got their own XLR for around $50.
I bought this mic to use xlr. I went with this mic because most of my budget went into my gaming pc and a go xlr. I will upgrade the mic later on for sure though
Not that strange, these type of mics is getting more popular because they're offering entry-level users one more option on their way to being experienced. When they're still out of reach to use a proper XLR setup in terms of skill and budget, but not satisfied with the audio quality from the USB connection, they have a compromised setup, not breaking the bank, but up the audio a little bit. Anyway, it just provides an option so they don't need to always stick with the USB.
its in the name its just fine for a fine price not great but you can get a whole, setup for very little
Mine was super quiet via USB and I send it back. I had same issue with K688.
what did you get then?
Behringer xm8500 - amazing for the price. T.bone BC500 - i have sticked to this one. Superlux D421 - ok, but more expensive and harder to drive. King Bee II - very nice, but huge, very heavy and kinda price'y.@@apratimsingh1306
From what I heard it’s onto their cable. You need to switch to a faster cable. usb3 or something?
I tried that.@@chlfd
@@chlfdthat's correct, on my PS5 at least I had to get a USB 3.1 cable to get proper audio quality out of it
Using it on my PS5, my only complaint is the LED lights, I don't want it at all 😅 I gotta turn it off every time. Sounds great, party chat approved.
Also you may need to buy a separate USB 3.1 cable for it to work properly, the cable it comes with wasn't good for me.
for the ps5 do you just plug it in normally usb to c ? or do you need any other cable
@@Stinoo_Recclezz yes just plug it into any of the USB slots. As long as you have the right cable it should work.
@@Chr15Payne what cable you recommend ? and if you can, can you lmk where you got the cable from
Tbh, i was here just for kora's review
I listened on sennheiser momentum 3 Bluetooth headphones which are some of the best there are, and could hardly hear a difference through RUclips, especially on the USB mode.
Am i dumb for thinking this sounds bettter than the Yeti? Im currently Using a yeti
it does my uncles had both and the fifine is amazing compared to the yeti
Hello! Does it handle loudness well? I yell a lot and talk loud, and wonder if it peaks badly
It handles it okay but I would recommend setting up a compressor regardless in obs or something else
i have a ps5 and i just got this mic. but the only problem i have is that when i talk into the mic it's very static. could you help please !
Could be the USB connection to the PS4. Consider turning the gain down. That is about all I got
Some people say that the USB that comes with it is the problem. Buy new USB
Get a USB3!
hi revan just came across this review , i just started streaming and i stream directly from my ps5 console and i use a condenser mic with xlr to usb directly into ps5 and my sound is very far or echoes with lots of background noise even after adjusting sound settings in console. so i was wondering if this fifine microphone would work great with the ps5 directly with usb
It's sounds like this may be more of an environment issue. Are you keeping the microphone close to your face? Is your room very echoy?
@@revanful I am keeping the microphone close and the room is not echoey at all. Idk why the mic just pics up background noise so sensitively
It works with PS5 and since it's not even close to the sensitivity of a condenser mic, it will pick up much less background compared to any condenser models. But in the case where you won't be able to use any plugins as you do on a computer, even a dynamic mic will capture some of the background.
what's your digital clock, it looks cool :0
Tidbyt. It is super cool but expensive. I received it for free.
on the mic tests did u keep it on the stand, i want to know if it sounds as good as it does in the vid with the included stand on a desk
I used it on the included mic stand. How did I not see the comment :(
@@revanful I ended up buying it and it’s been nice I’m glad u recommended it
@@darwhin sir does this mic pick up any keyboard clacking when ur playing? surely that shouldnt happen if the mic is close to ur mouth or does it???
@@ExitiumD The way i have it set up: The included stand propped up on the box it comes in, thats right next to my mouth. I use external software to make it sound better; It does pick up the keyboard if you set the gain too high(theres a sweet spot where you get your voice and no keyboard though!) for context my keyboard and mouse are infront of my mic which is closer to me and in front of my mouth.
for the gaming noise rejection did you put your mics behind your hardwares lol ?
No
both of these mics sound the same
Which keyboard are you using in this video?
Higround bonsai
can i ask what kind of monitor arm do you use?
That the time of this video: a $30 one from Amazon
Now: elgato low profile mic arm
Revanthenub this mic is now 75 euro, is it still worth it cuz its more than ''50$"
i found it for 50$ in my country so i think it might js be 75 euros in urs
do i buy the fifine am8 or hyperx quadcast s?
i’m also planning on using the am8 via usb.
I think the hyperx quadcast is not worth the money at all. That is personal opinion and not influenced by this free product. I have always been pretty apprehensive when it comes to the quadcast. Hyperx makes some understanded mice however.
I think the Quadcast is a condenser mic, isn't it? So completely different focuses. If you're going to use it on a computer, specially for gaming or working (meetings and stuff), the AM8 or any decent quality dynamic mic will be miles better than any condenser mic just because dynamic vs condenser.
I know the comment is old, but someone might come in here wondering the same.
Fifine sounded way better on xlr.
My name is Revan the Nub, and this is a microphone test.
Is there a way to disable the way it rejects noise?
Um any problem with the way it rejects noise? Since it's the characteristic of the capsule itself, we're afraid it's not a subject to change.
My condensor 669B actually rejects a lot of my Model M mechanical keyboard a foot beneath it.
Thanks for sharing! Yes, the K669B is one of the condenser mics that doesn't pick up that much background or desk noise.
@@FIFINE Yep, still using it for my content creations. Works Fifine. Doesn't pick up my computer fans or my refrigerator running in the same room either, both of which are quite noisy. Sample: ruclips.net/video/DVvDY_V3EhM/видео.html
@@choppergirl ❤Wow thanks for the sample video! Really great one!
ok revan the nub, also is this a microphone test?
Life is a microphone test
can you do a tutorial on how to set it up bc my audio is very low and idk what to do
Sorry about the issue! We have a tutorial on our official channel ruclips.net/video/Y8o48EBOJ9g/видео.html See if it can help! And if there's still any problem, feel free to let us know!
Can it also work with usb to Xbox?
No no no, definitely not, no third-party USB audio devices are allowed to use with Xbox.
can you unscrew it from the base?
Yes
No problem!
Where did you get your cat?
The pits of hell
Can u turn off the rgb?
Yep
Why does am8 sound better
There might quality is the legit same just buy the cheap one😂
The GoXLR mini isn't the best interface tbh
fine fine wtf its FIFINE
A representative at fifine literally told me it is fine fine 😭 and insisted I had to say that. It doesn't make any sense
GET OUT OF MY HEAD REVAN THE NUB
This is a microphone test
AAAAAAAAH@@revanful
Hahahah
The end comment “more wobbler than your grandma” is extremely offensive, don’t ever say that again. I’m surprised this made it to RUclips 😢
My grandma's are both steady as can be. Dead though.
yo do u think this mic is better then the blue yeti?
@@revanful
Bro which mic is best under 70dollar please 😢🎉
it's fifine not "fine fine"
Tell that to fifine who explicitly told me that is what it is.
@@revanful you even pronounced it fifine in the video while talking about it
