We like 50 to 70 degrees.
If it’s 80 I sit under the AC!

Thanks for the video of the Boulder Beach campground, looks like a place we’d like to try. We’re from Southeast Texas so we’re used to hot, but we try not to camp in extreme hot. In the past we have camped at our local lakes or beach in 88 weather, sometimes with electric sometimes without. We tend to do more spring time trips before it gets too hot, then we head north out of Texas. We use solar and fans, hardly run the generator( only to cook) our new rig will be tested in a week as we set off on a two month trip to Glacier, making a big loop. Don’t think we will see you, but we are trying the Badlands boondocking again, that’s we’re we met you two before on that horrible storm night!😮. Safe travels to you both!💜

Good question about temp & dry camping. Honestly, the older I get the less I like heat above … say, 80 … haha …and i live in Phoenix. So, when camping, if evening temps are >80, I want the AC. This summer, we will see as we are traveling Phoenix to Lake Superior. We have solar, and hoping we will have electricity but won’t have AC. We hope to dry camp where we can but if heat & humidity are high, we’ll seek 30 amp service.
Seems rather unseasonably warm in NV & the PNW.

Alabama Hills, California. August 2020. Record heat 105 degrees. Most expensive "boondocking" we ever did. Ran generator almost continuously (No neighbors thankfully). We had to make a run into Lone Pine almost every day to get 10 gallons of gasoline to make up for what we were using. Note we have 1200 watts solar and 600 amp battery. Didn't matter. The 5500 generator could only power 2 of the 3 ACs. The sun just beat down on us and using the awning was problematic due to high winds. Thank God for the silver insulation panels to put in every window. If we ran the AC in the AM we could keep the rig Ok until about 3 PM and then it would inch up into the mid to high 80's in the rig. We still wouldn't miss it - the site we were at is now unavailable for boondocking.

Hi Bob and Pearl, I am not sure why you have not moved north yet. I am about 4 days slow moving up north myself. I got to St. Louis, MO overnight but it has been either raining or very cloudy for the last 3 days and it will rain tomorrow also as I move north. I only move 70 to 110 miles a day. I have been staying at Cracker Barrels and Walmart. This is my Cracker Barrel and Walmart 2023 Tour. LOL It also has been hot 85 and 90s humidity. So about every other day I have to run my gen for about 2 hours. If I could get sunny days I would not need the gen. But I can ran my bedroom AC all night on my batteries. In two days it will be 15 days cooler in northern IL. Could you the full hookups at half price? Dave, is not cheap. He will spend money on others just not on himself. I call that thrifty. LOL
