    I've been using the flip 5 at work for over a year and it is an excellent speaker. Everything about it is perfect. It gets loud enough to where I have to turn it down at times and I work in a wide open space. To me it has perfect tonal balance. The bass is perfect and vocals are clear. You can hear ever instrument and if you just listen to it and shut everything else out it is mesmerizing. Even my co workers are amazed by it. The flip 6 isn't worth buying to me because nothing was done to improve the sound which in my opinion impossible because the sound is perfect. I also have the Bose portable home speaker and it just sits gathering dust. I will use it if my flip 5 goes down. I don't care what speaker comes on the market I don't think that it can best the flip 5 at its price point and size.

    You said you did not notice the sound change when you moved the Flex to a different orientation. You called BS. That is exactly what is supposed to (not) happen, the speaker makes adjustments based on the placement to maintain the same sound. The "PositionIQ" feature BOSE is touting really works.

  • @ronbatt756
    @ronbatt756 9 месяцев назад +2

    Seems to me that the Bose has a better capacity for Base ranges-- thus.. if your device (phone) has access to a custom equalizer setting as part of the phone then the Bose will produce the better overall result. I find that add on apps equalizers can loose some sound character and therefore are not good) In my market (Toronto Canada) the Bose is 50% more expensive than the Flip... both on sale...... so .. that could be a deciding factor for some buyers. Overall, I think the Bose will be the most satisfying experience if cost is not a consideration.

    this video dosen't do the bass justice for the bose flex. at 60% volume the bass is the best iv ever hear out of a speaker this small. its way more then even a b@O A1 gen2 and its lighter. not a huge fan of mono but to me its not that bad. i compared it to the bass of the charge 5 and while the charge 5 does have stronger deeper bass, the bose flex did not sound toyish next to it. most of the speakers i compare to the charge 5 in its size range sound like toys in comparison. the bose weights 1.3 pounds and the charge 5 weights 2.1 pounds. at almost half the weight i am impressed at how much it hangs with the charge 5. of course at max volume the bose dosen't stand a chance. i know a lot dont like the mono sound and singe driver set up but its really the only way to have speakers as compact as possible but still have good sound if the single driver is high quality. the more drivers and tweeters you have weight and size go up. there are still tons of premium brands that sell mono speakers. B&O A1, P2 for example. they cost far more and imo dont sound as good. I personaly think the bose flex is priced well. it should eventually go on sale for something like 120-130 ifi had to guess from time to time after its been out a while

IMO the jbl charge 5 is the clear winner. it has the cleanest bass by far, goes deeper then both the soundcores and goes louder. my motion boom and plus distort at max volume moderately. the chage 5 never does. you really cant up the bass much with the eq app for the soundcores as they just enhance the distotion and brings it down to lower volume levels,

There some strange volume modulation at medium volumes. He's not as sold on it as he first was. At the end of the day none of the stats mater. It's the one you like most. For me it's the charge 5. Now if I'm listening at very low levels then the motion boom is my choice like 30- 40% because I can add all the bass I want and it still doesn't distort at that level and it sounds strong and full of depth. Jbl doesn't have the best bass adjustment for lower volumes. Jbl is best at, 60-70%

    IT’S LONG BUT PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ THIS.
    Just a thought on the JBL Flip 6 vs the Bose SoundLink Flex. They are the same size and according to the internet the bose has a larger transducer than the JBL but the JBL has a tweeter and an adjustable equalizer within the app where as at this time on the bose connect app there is not an equalizer to adjust the sound. But I have another bose speaker and it uses a different music app and it runs on the bose msuic app and in the bose music app it has an equalizer so you can adjust the bass and the treble to your liking. And in the JBL portable app you can do the same thing except you can also adjust the mid-range. Bose could add an EQ to there app in the future/near future. Bc I read on the internet that when the JBL flip 6 was released it did not have an adjustable eq within its app for its speakers. But now it has an eq in the app. I think with the equalizer off on the JBL the bose sounds better but with the eq on I think the JBL sounds better. So if bose added an equalizer that could change things. I know the speaker has position IQ technology where it’s supposed to adjust the sound depending on which way you lay it but it would be nice to be able to turn that off if you wanted to. A similar portable speaker called the sonos roam has a similar feature but in the sonos s2 app you can turn that feature off. In the bose app you cannot do that or on the speaker itself either. And also Sonos has an adjustable EQ within the app like the JBL. The bose is behind the times with that but I bet they’ll change for the better. I would turn position IQ off and have an equalizer set to my liking if I could. I prefer my bose soundlink flex to sit upright so it’s pointing at me but they say it will produce more bass if you lay it flat, in my testing this is true. A little more bass for sure. Which I like. But I shouldn’t have to lay it flat to get maximum bass output. And the speaker needs better rubber feet on it because sometimes it will move it self. Or vibrate itself off the table. So I would recommend not placing it near the edge of a table if you don’t have to. Thank you for whoever actually takes the time to read this.

    Yeah, I'll never trust user reviews ever again. I bought the flip 5 based on glowing reviews and it sounds absolutely terrible. Im using a Samsung S23ultra so the source is of the audio is excellent. People who think base is what makes a speaker sound good have no idea what they're talking about. I have high-end audio in my home theater and vehicle as well as high end ear buds. The JBL flip 5 sounds like trash in my opinion. JBL was definitely targeting an audience that doesnt know what good sound actually sounds like. The speakers has lots of bass and thats literally all it has. The volume doesnt even go all the way up. Its stops at about 65% and then just sounds muddy, distorted struglling after that. It sounds horrible. Im returning it and getting the Bose.

    I hear more detail in the JBL. The bass is harder from the Bose, but also more muddy and I miss detail in the higher end as well. Also the JBL is more flexible in terms of shape and build. Also pity that it's just bluetooth 4.2. Means it loses out in terms of range and lag.

    Typical Bose adherence to the juiciest tone, and JBL for the shrilliest tone. What do people expect? The best of all worlds? Not in a plastic press-mold plastic box. Looking forward for the masses to have a box which is accurate, stages well, and produces nice accuracy at all frequencies. The golden nugget evades us yet again. Is it impossible? No. Is it profitable? YaaaaaYYYAYAAAAY!

      the helsinki is full of problems. the major being the design flaw of the bass radiators. after 65% volume the bass radiator flutter is really bad. i had to return mine fora new one and it was even worse. the only good ones where the earier batches like the one oluv has. also the app tp access the differant eq modes doesn't work anymore. hard pass overall
