Bang and Olufsen's sound profile tends to be more neutral and focuses on instrument separation and detail. B&O is more like fine dining, it's about the subtleties. Bose, JBL, Marshall, they're all enjoyable, but they're more like fast food.
Bose fast food? Have you ever heard the SoundLink Flex on its back? Nothing but separation of the instruments and clarity. The omnidirectional position gives a more spatial sound especially with 2 of them in stereo.
maybe it's just how the sound came across in the video, but the worst were by far the Bose. Muddy with too much bass. The A1 sounded best followed by JBL
Bass does not equal quality sound most manufacturers use bass to cover up the terrible quality of their speakers. The Bang and Olufsen sound is so perfectly balanced for the price it puts you right in the music like you’re there.
Yep, I have actually compared the Bose flex and the b&o a1 gen 2 and ended up going with the b&o - the sound stage is so much more mature and big, the bass is big, don’t worry about it - you’re not suppose to hold a speaker in your hand when you test it. The bass actually sounds better than the Bose if you ask me. Easily the best most fun speaker in this video’s list. (Flex is also great, better than the jbl and the mono sounding Marshall’s)

Not sure about the other speakers but when it comes to the A1, it must be resting on a firm sold platform in order for the base to perform best. Handling them in your hands will affect the outcome a lot. I have the A1 first gen, and all I can say is that every time friends listen to to its sound they just can’t believe that awesome sound quality especially base is coming from such a small speaker.
One major thing to comment here Danny, everyone who bought the Explore or A1 noticed the sound is not so great out of the box, however, I really recommend you install the app and play with the eq, you'll be amazed what it can do, I would recommend move it between Energetic and high bass! then you can re test it. Trust me, it will worth it.
Hi, thanks for your video! Did you get a chance to play around with the EQ settings on the B&O speakers to see if the sound/bass improves ? I've seen a few videos of people who seemed to have success with that, and most said it sounded better than the Bose Flex! My Bose Soundlink Revolve (mini) got a battery issue for the second time in less than 2 years so I'm searching for a good replacement for it if you have any recommendations! Thanks!
I have the a1 and explore and use the explore way more because of the durability and battery life. You gotta EQ the speakers which is dumb but it does help a lot.
I'm confused.. the Bose clearly performed the worst whereas I feel the B&O A1 took the crown when doing the playback comparison. Did the recording pick up sound quality that bad?
To be honest: according to me: 1. A1. 2. Marshall. I own a B&O Beoplay P6 and Marshall Stanmore II: My P6 is better than my Stanmore II for at least 50% LOUD! The Stanmore II is at least 3 or 4 time heavier! I will get the B&O A1, just for my dest setup, to use advantage from that 3 inside mics... VOCALS VOICE, youtube, and bosa nova music B&O is the best of the best...
I own a Kilburn 2, Beolit 17 and a Beoplay P6. Obviously, the Beolit 17 sounds the best. But the P6 is honestly not far behind in terms of sound quality and it sounds way better than the Marshall. Of course it drops when you go louder than 60% in comparison to the Beolit. The Bass is actually as deep as intended. With the Kilburn, I feel like the bass is loud, but its not deep. Bang Olufsen is insane!
I has bought Explore and i should say its way better than all this jbl sort off speakers. if you know something about liniar sound, resolution, details - this speaker is for you. killer design and materials
I've stumbled upon your channel since I was looking for emberton reviews. After watching that video, I immediately subscribed. You are doing pretty great! Keep it up! 🙂👍🤟
I have an Emberton 2 - well worth it, and a great sounding speaker. I am still tempted by the Bose - purely as I have a Bose TV Sound bar and headphones.
Can confirm just like many other commenters that the A1 has legendary bass if you put it on a wood, or even better, glass/stone surface. Just got it and it blew my mind.
You just have to be negative to the B&O! Because you ghave no taste! Two beautiful speakers and the rest of them "Ugly constructs". B&O you could be proud of having "33" hours of quality battery life with your ugly speakers left in the "Smoke". Try to like quality and beautiful and ditch the ugly ones.
What a bizarre review! Surely the skill of any reviewer of audio products is to understand how to get the best out of the product they are reviewing. The A1 needs to be placed on a solid surface. Then you will hear plenty of bass. Holding the speakers up is a ridiculous way to test them. I have noticed that if you place speakers under a pile of blankets, they sound muffled . .
Thank you for the comparison. Some thoughts on your speaker placement: The A1 is designed to enhance its bass response by the placement on a solid surface. Also many use cases have a bluetooth speaker standing on a solid surface. So the reflections (highs + mids) of the surface around it also shape the sound.
Good day. I understand that everyone has a different sense of sound, but still, which is better, whose sound is closer to the original, without exaggerated bass or highs, balanced - emberton2 or bang & olufsen beosound explore or bose flex? It was not possible to listen to marshall and bose at the same time, and in general to listen to bang & olufsen, my feeling is that the flex plays better than the flip6. Or Sony better? Which?

The first Music I heard on the bang & oulfson cd hifi was Eva Cassidy. She wil forever be my test for B&O. I’ve just bought an explorer on Amazon will arrive Wednesday, So let’s see 😎
Holding them up doesn’t accurately produce sound and the A1 blows away every single one of them. I’m a B&O fan and i don’t care for the explore, but none of those speakers are even a fraction as detailed, dynamic and controlled as the A1 🥴
Man I love that A1 so much. The clarity is absolutely amazing. And with very nice BASS. What's crazy is the fact that the A1 is only less than a half inch wider in diameter than the bose micro and other micro speakers. It's still super small but blows those other micro speakers AWAY! It's my favorite personal speaker. It's on a whole another level.

Well, not really... B&O still has their premium line. This is the line that is more targeted at a younger crowd as premium audio market is shrinking.
