honestly, i'm not shook that dan changed his name to joe and became a stalker/psychopath/serial killer. it rly feels like the appropriate progression of his character
@@lar.a.130 No this all goes back to Dan. Just because they sent in tips didn't mean he had to post them. He is the problem. Dan started this up since the 9th grade. A guy who acts like he despises the rich kids because of their privilege but at the same time desperately wants to be in their world. He is a sad individual.
this espisode wasnt even good because the reactions werent realistic. blair would throw a tantrum serena would go away and nate will go after serena, chuck with calm down blair, and georgina would laugh
Blair was the only one who was being realistic: Dan was a total jerk for being gossip girl!! Seriously Serena saying that it was like a love letter to them is pushing it
Danii Faith you are pretending like rich people are victims that don’t bully or scheme lol . They always looked down on him . He was jealous because they had money . They ruined many people as well .
@@blackhoodie4170 What he did wasn't justice. He started this nonsense in the 9th grade and kept it going. Talk about having an ax to grind. This speaks more to the character and mindset of Dan than to the rich he hates but wouldn't mind being!! What person in their right mind would start a gossip blog pretending to be a girl, posting shit that isn't always the truth, only using specific tips to ruin peoples lives, while sitting back watching the flames climb high. He's sick, and I wouldn't want anything to do with him.
I Thought It Was Actually Dorota Because Blair Told Her All This Information And Dorota WentInto A LOT Of High School Drama So InThought Dorota Would Have Wanted To Use The Information To Make A Huge Legend GOSSIP GIRL!
+Meghan Joseph tbh i was on like episode 4 of S1 when I found out it was Dan. I still want to watch a few seasons more. Not really a fan of Dan's hair though..
@Char Bear They did the same stupid shit with Chuck. For whatever reason, they feel it's super important to have a "bang" moment at the end of a series to pull in viewers. Almost invariably, it fucks up the entire plot of the show and actively works against their intentions.
Lol I love how Blair is the only one who is sensible enough to be mad at dan and everyone else is like "did he really ruin our lives or is this just you?"
Well, Blair isn't some goody two shoes either. She has ruined alot of people's lives as well. The end point is, all of them were bad people. I literally don't get it how people can even like a man like Chuck bass? How can someone forgive and forget his past doings? Regardless of how much ever change he went through, it doesn't excuse his behaviour. And dan, okay he posted about all those rich brats, but the worst part is that he ruined his sister's life as well. And the more worst part is that he was actually trying to justify it 🙄 All of them were messed up people, trying to bring each other down.
jenna H with all those gossip girl blasts! serena was literally the biggest target on there. even tho he had to to cover for himself if he really loved serena he would never do that.
Am I the only person who looked forward to the scenes in season 1 when Rufus was dating those chicks and had that art gallery? And how did he end up with Lisa Loeb? What happened to that Bex chick?
Rufus is beautiful, sometimes embarrassing Dan is charming enough to mask being potentially more potently embarrassing, and not as beautiful - like Serena and Georgina, or more like lily and that raven hair girl she hung out with on the west coast
Ju them being siblings ain’t even the biggest issue in my opinion. I think they don’t simply don’t match and Dan was a total ass (even though I’m not a fan of Serena either). Why would you want to date someone like that?
Why are they all so casual about this. Blair is the only one speaking sense. Serena you don't have a problem with this remember when he said you had a STD or were pregnant or countless other things.Ugh this is such bullshit.
really ? they seriously just laugh it off in the end? gossip girl has ruined their ENTIRE teen years and they're just going to brush it all off, laugh about it and forgive Dan?
emerson • but serena wasn’t REALLY gossip girl . she just picked up where she left off at her blair and chucks accident but even then she never actually did anything that hurt them . it was partially dans fault that blair and chuck almost died .
Okay but think about it. Without gossip girl they wouldn’t be the people they are now. They were spoiled rich teens living their best life with so many secrets. I feel like gossip girl was the one who made them into better people because they learned from the mistakes they made with all the secrets.
Gossip girl itself didn’t ruin any lives. They were already doing that to each other. Gossip girl just put it out there so they would have to own up to how awful they were
i liked Dan for the first couple of seasons but honestly I hated him in the end. i always knew him and Serena would be endgame tho. lol Chuck and Blair were the main reason I even watched the show XD
blair was the only real reaction. i think it's pretty pathetic how everyone was so calm like wtf? when they thought it was eric's boyfriend they were so mad but since it's dan they all blame each other and not gossip girl. shitty reactions, go blair.
I agree about the Eric's boyfriend thing, but I don't think it's too unrealistic considering they were more mature and really seemed to want to put it all behind them. Even Blaire let it go after protesting for a couple minutes.
@@michaelabarnes7597 serena is right about it. Despite the fact that dan always acted proud and like he doesnt like elite, he was obsessed with them and wanted to be the part of their world so badly.
It started out great and continued great but it went out with a whimper. Though I do love that my favorite Blair was the one person who truly grew and changed throughout the whole series
I don't know why but the first time I watched gossip girl I thought it was Blair also Serena was my absolute fave but Dan just got on my nerves so much
Henry Jackson exactly! Blair was by far the most complex character! So were Lily and Chuck! Dan was so basic and predictable the way he acted throughout the series was ridiculous.
+Rosetteliyu With the way things are unfolding in PLL at the moment, I'm sure everyone will be pissed off at the end of season 7. The show/storyline is going nowhere :/
Considering most of Serena's storyline on Gossip Girl was trying to "destroy gossip girl" , her reacting to finding out was so unrealistic. I mean I get she was with dan at this point and loved him (don't even get me started on their season 6 relationship) but it's pretty unlikely for her to do a 180 and all of a sudden just forgive him like this
well, serena is a hypocrite saying she doesn't love the attention but is actually craving for it. like that whole plotline with lola as an "it girl" in season 5 and serena sabotaging her so the title of it girl wouldn't be stolen from her?
I don't really care how the ending went and that dan was gg and that serena and dan got TOgether, all I care about is that chuck and Blair are together
+Naomi Elkheir Chuck arguably had the best character development of anyone on this show. Blair....she's still Blair. All that's different is her acceptance of Dan.
+Grant Stoutenburg And Serena is still pretty much the same Serena that we saw in the first episode. And Dan well, we figured out that he always was like the season six dan
I disliked his character from the beginning and it wasn’t a hard jump to hate. He was always so judgmental, self righteous and critical of people he didn’t even try to understand
I'm with Blair. Gossip girl destroyed their lives at one point or another and all the sudden Serena is going to overlook that because it was Dan. I would never forgive someone who did that to me
@@Dirtnap1986 but he can’t post without any tips so i mean it is what is it they are all at fault lmaoo they gave him the clout and allowed GG to control their lives by giving her power (ie the tips they sent in) but yes you’re right he didn’t have to post them
@@Dirtnap1986 Oh okay, so if I send you something because I am INTENTIONALLY trying to ruin someone else's life, I'm not guilty as long as I don't post the material myself? It's the thought that counts, and most of the times they sent in tips they WANTED the world to see. Blair is not in a position to criticize anyone as she didn't hesitate to use GG when she wanted to undermine someone else's reputation, GG was just a means, and Dan may have created it, but the fact that many times they resorted to it doesn't make 'em any better.
Even if GG didn’t exist they would have still found a way to spread their gossip and hate. GG just put it out their on social media, instant instead of the old slow gossip mill.
"Gossip Girl ruined our lives" she says wearing a tiara. No one on this show knows what a ruined life really means. Having issues due to horrible things happening is a guarantee, but her life is not ruined and she shows it (no matter what she went through on the show, losing a baby or anything else) with the tiara.
Actually, you can be rich and your life can still be ruined. The fact that all of you can't see it makes me think you're materialistic enough to think that money does buy it all. It sure makes things easier, but it doesn't buy real happiness and peace.

Fern Leaves Studio maybe but it can numb u to the pint that u dont feel pain depresion or whatever pains u ...
Megan Louise Cosplay now it makes sens in season 2 when he spoke in british accesnt and wanted to sleep with Blair fooling her it was actually Lord Marcus
Hahahahahahahaha it's not because he is british. Lot of British actors do American accent with a "normal voice". Actually his voice always annoyed me...
Watching this after watching YOU and hearing Dan saying Gossip Girl is dead makes me think he killed Gossip Girl then said it was him and you can’t change my mind
There were so many instances in the show that made it clear that Dan couldn’t be Gossip Girl though? 1. The times when he was on camera when she sent out a blast and he physically couldn’t post anything 2.The times when he’s alone and he seems genuinely shocked reading what she wrote 3.The time he yelled at Jenny for sending a tip of him and Serena sleeping together when he was with Vanessa 4.The time when he had a conversation with Gossip Girl who blackmailed him into bringing Blair to a party 5. The time When he’s searching for Juliet and emails Gossip Girl for Juliet’s location 6. When he continuously outs himself for cheating 7. The times we visibly see him sending in tips to Gossip Girl If you’re just looking from an overall standpoint it makes sense but there’s too many plot holes that make it impossible for it to be Dan. It would’ve made way more sense for it to be Eric (the original plan before the NY Post outed it as him), Nate (the backup plan before they decided to use Dan for shock value) or Dorota. They didn’t even start planning for Dan to be Gossip Girl until season 5 but by that point it’s too late for it to make sense 🤷🏽♂️
It was supposed to be Eric but the directors changed it last minute because of an article that came out saying they suspected Eric was Gossip Girl, so they changed it to Dan. They also thought about changing it to Nate. I wish they would have stuck to the original plan to be Eric or at least a random person.
Seriously, it's 2020, but this still doesn't make sense. The stuff GG wrote was way over the top , hurtful, spiteful and ruined lives. The writers of GG admited, they pulled this out of thier ass, Dan was never meant to be GG, they just picked someone and went with it. I can never understand why Serena married Dan, especially since he was GG, Serena was the one who was hurt most through GG post. Essentially, Dan the outsider was jealous that they had money, stature and he was the 'poor brooklyn' boy, he just wanted to be accepted by them. Dan was the hypocrite, he portrayed he was better than them as he supposely had morals but in the end, he was worse than them, hid behind 2 faces. I wish the writers went with another route and actually worked on the who GG was instead of doing this.
When that big reveal was on, years ago, I SHRIEKED. I SHRIEKED AND SHRIEKED SO LOUD IN MY COUCH TO THE POINT BOTH OF MY PARENTS RUSHED INTO THE LIVING ROOM. I HOLLEREF AT THEM TO TELL THEM WHAT HAPPENED . And then my mother said, very calmly ' Actually, we knew the whole time.' I. ABSOLUTELY. LOST. IT. IT TOOK 3 WHOLE DAYS TO CALM DOWN. When I went to school on Monday afterwards, that was ALL EVERYONE AT SCHOOL COULD TALK ABOUT. THE ENDING OF GOSSIP GIRL IS ONE OF THE MOST SHOCKING AND DESTRUCTIVE IN THE HISTORY OF TV.
I just don't consider it canon. They fucked Chuck up as well, and I don't consider anything that happens after the bullet train episode to be canon. It makes rewatches a lot more palatable.
Dan was a writer he was obsessed with serena that's the only reason it made sense. But there are moments that he get messages from gossip girl so he couldn't possibly be him
I think they should've just left GG anonymous. I always pictured GG as being some lonely 15 year old girl blogging about the social elite from her bedroom, as a way to somehow have the upper hand over these people. The last season was pretty bad. It felt like the writers just fell asleep at the wheel and just wanted to rush the finale to provide closure and didn't take the time to make it worthwhile.
In the book not a single character ever mentions GG. It goes "chapter- blog-chapter-blog" GG is just a story teller. It does not actually impact the story itself.
True I wish chuck and Blair would have been a little more romantic like I know there was some stuff but with the wedding being so quick but still cute I wished for something more
lets be honest the way Serena acted she didn't deserved to end with anyone she treated her friends like shit and they always let her slide with her bullshit. Ig she derserved dan bcs there both bad ppl
@@destroyathedestroyer Nate,Dan,Carter,Colin,Ben,Aaron,Stephen, and that guy she thought she married in season 2, Nate's cousin Tripp and he was married lol I might of missed a few..Yes,she was for the streets and so was Nate really
serena didn’t deserve anything💀 she was one of my least favorite characters. she was one of the biggest liars and manipulators on the show. you could see she didn’t care about anyone but herself.
I don't believe the writers when they try to claim that Dan being Gossip Girl was a long-time planned plot device. It was simply a way to showcase their ideal vision of Penn Badgley as the supposed main actor of the ensemble cast. If by any chance I'm wrong and it WAS planned all along, then it was a TERRIBLE decision to go back to Dan and Serena as a couple at the end. Not only were they step siblings who shared a half-brother, but also, Serena always said that Gossip Girl made her life MISERABLE, it's why she had skipped town before the Pilot, and it ruined her friendship with Blair. Dan never claimed responsibility for all the creepy, invasive GG texts he sent out to the school for all those years until the very last episode when unbelievably, Serena FORGAVE him (WTF??!!??) It's such terrible writing. Chuck and Blair ending up together was the ONLY thing that kept me watching this show the whole 6 seasons, thanks to Ed and Leighton's natural and intense chemistry. Serena's endgame relationship should have been with NATE, who was the only guy on the show who loved her unconditionally and never expected her to change who she was to be with him. TOTAL letdown. Chair and Serenate will always be the endgame couples to me. Non-Judging Breakfast Club, as described by Blair in Season 1
Well, it was pretty obvious already in the beginning. If you listen to GG's narration, it was quite obvious to be honest. Try to watch the first season again.
+iluvlafferty It's terrible writing in general. Chuck attempts to rape Serena in the Pilot but by the end of S1 he suddenly really cares for her. I admit that the coupling in this show was a nice ride, but none of the developments make any sense. People are all doing "bad" things left and right, and constantly judging, hurting and forgiving their on and off 'friends'. Think of it this way, if you were to make a list of all the awful things they've done to each other (I'm only on S2 a its already a hefty list), they're constantly lying and pulling trash on each other. Gossip girl is no different, so in that sense perhaps by the whole thing they have going on forgiving them Dan is possible.
Purrineko I think they're just trying to show how difficult it is to be in the upper east side, and all they've got are each other. Plus, chuck had the biggest character development in the show. He changed a lot. Also, I though he was drunk or under the influence of something when he almost raped Serena.
THIS CAME ON MY RUclips PAGE AND SPOILED THE ENDING WHEN I WAS HALFAY THROUGH SEASON 5!! DONT PUT A FREAKING SPOILER IN THE TITLE ESPECIALLY ONE LIKE THATTTTTT
Christine Canuck I completely agree with you. It was cringe-inducing how Dan always resented Serena's lifestyle and always yelled at her for not being the fairytale girlfriend he had imagined her to be as a kid. The Dan/Serena reunion was clearly a rushed decision on the writers' part to appease the long-time Derena shippers who kept begging the GG writers on twitter to have them be endgame. Look back to Season 2 - the writers made them step brother and sister (and even gave them a half-brother!!) Then look back to Season 3 and you'll see that SERENATE was finally given another chance, after years of Nate being desperately in love with Serena. It's absolutely ridiculous that Nate and Serena were not the endgame couple. I honestly thought they would be, given that Stephanie Savage called them "The Golden Couple of Gossip Girl". Really crappy writing after Season 3. Chuck and Blair ending up together was the ONLY thing that made sense.
Christine Canuck I agree that Dan/Serena always felt a little off to me. The best person for Dan was, in all honesty, probably Olivia. I never really liked Serena, so I don't really know who she would possibly end up with. Ben? Sage's dad? Carter? The possibilities were truly endless. The best people for Nate were, in all honesty, Juliet and Sage (more so Juliet). Jenny could only really end up with Damien. Despite all that, Dan and Serena was inevitable because apparently it's what the fans wanted at the time.
Yeah....there is an interview that Penn Badgley (Dan) gave on Huffpost about being GG...apparently he didn't know until the last minute too....he looked just as disappointed by the ending as we were. haha. ; P
Liz Shannon : But the actor not knowing until the end messes up things too though because there would be times where Dan would look super surprised or angry about stuff that GG would post in the show....but if he was GG...he wouldn't react like that...it's dumb. xD I mean obviously you don't want things being leaked but still....unless Dan just pretended to be surprised by stuff in public...lol...but even in private...when he was alone..he would act like he was so surprised. xD Obviously you don't want fans figuring it out but there are ways to hide it without Dan looking like he has a split-personality disorder...
it kinda makes sense if you watch from the beginning to end and see the little clues like 2x25 the goodbye gossip girl when serena and gg planed to meet and dan showed
I love Chuck's growth on this show. That and his relationship with Blair and Lily were the best parts of the show for me. He was a troubled character but he was good and not just to Blair either. He adored anyone who showed him any kind of true kindness that it breaks my heart. He sold his prized Victrola to pay off Nate's money issues without a second thought and he didn't want him finding about it either. He loved Lily (that was one of the most fulfilling but underrated relationships of the show; I personally think that it played a huge part in helping him grow so much), embraced Serena & Eric as siblings even if he made a joke out of it as a front. He always looked after Serena's interests and was even quite civil with Jennie till he lost his mind and slept with her but then was immediately repentant and made amends as soon as he came to his senses. He even opened up to Dan and considered him a friend when he showed loyalty by punching that one guy in the bar. Everyone kept on reiterating that he was the worst of the worst characters to make the viewers believe it, but if you look closely he was one of the few who was actually truly decent beneath drugged out and sex crazed tendencies from earlier. He was never truly vicious like most of the other characters were at one point or another save for Nate. The only thing I wished they did differently for him was at the end when the writers made him out to be a tacit murderer, which I thought was out of character given his progression, but I guess you could say that he was at the height of frustration at that point. The boy was just starved for love. He had the good in him from the start but I'm glad he had best development arc so we could all see his growth throughout the show
Nate and Serena should have been endgame. She spent her whole life searching for her one true love, someone who would love her for her no matter what and make her happy, which Nate did. She admitted that he and Dan were the only good guys she ever dated, and considering Dan wasn't such a great guy in the end (since he had tormented so many people he allegedly "loved" and "cared about") I truly can't believe that they didn't end up together. Honestly, I doubt the writers had this ending planned from the beginning despite what they may say. Looking back at the first season, it seems as though they set it up so Nate & Serena were meant to be from the start, but lost their plan as the show unfolded. Without Juliet in the show, I imagine Nate and Serena would have gotten back together in season 4.
csd136 I hated Nate and Serena the whole time they were together honestly. Nate was too honest and nice to end up with Serena. The whole thing just felt fake and like it should've never happened. Maybe it's because I just didn't like Serena. "I love you. Wait no I love Dan. No wait, it's totally you." In the books, Nate ended up by himself because he had the show Serena's mentality. Maybe she should have ended up with no one lol.
I don't get why people give Dan so much shit. Serena and Blair were awful people. The amount of times they did shit behind people's back and humiliated people, not to mention they sent it the most tips out of anyone. GG posted mostly from tips, so if they didn't send it stuff, then GG wouldn't even work as an idea since Dan couldn't possibly know what's going on all the time. I agree Nate and Serena was better given the terrible history between Dan and Serena and the show was poorly done in the last couple seasons.
In retrospect, it was kind of obvious that it was Dan. Like he said, he wrote himself into their world. If someone else was Gossip Girl, they probably wouldn't write about him because at the end of the day he was just one of the many guys that had a crush on Serena.
Dan is the weirdest guy ever. Serena is very naive and not likeable. Chuck turned into a melodramatic batman character towards the end. Blair and the oath thing was so contrived and nonsensical, her bulimia and miscarriage was marginalized. Nate was incredibly boring with no character development. One thing that also annoyed me was the lack of friendship and communication between NSBC. They were like a bunch of acquaintances brought together by random situations. Chuck and Blair seemed to be better friends than Serena and Blair...plus they had some of the best one liners and dialogue.
I agree, the show started off really good. Season 1 and 2 and I think 3 had great spirit, I thought Nate had lots of character development then and Chuck and Nate's friendship was interesting because they were opposites of each other but it was awesome. But then... I think season 4 happened and it became so centered on other stupid stuff that character development barely seemed to matter, especially for characters who were so important in the beginning mainly Nate since out of NSBC he was the one with the least amount of character arc love. I never liked Jenny so I never count her. When Juliet came into the story Nate started to get some of that old season 1,2,3 spark back but then they had to make that all about Serena so they ruined it for him. Chuck did become melodramatic and he was an awesome douchey character, almost like the perfect foil to Nate the Golden Boy and that's what made their dynamic great. Then the show only focused on Blair and Chuck not being together and them being together (all the bloody time), same with Serena and all of her love interests and Dan pining for Serena then pining for Blair that Nate still did not get any story lines unless it was with some bimbo girl who never amounted to anything. As you can see, I've always loved Nate so I never appreciated the writers lack of story line for him. The best moments was when the four of them "took down" someone because that was in the spirit of their characters, outside of those moments... it got convoluted. But I still loved the show =.=
i thought they should have went out with a bang , like. blair went to see how dan was doing before walking down the isle and then they end up hooking up lol then dan walks down and gets married to serena. lol sorry i guess im kinda wishing they kept dair as bffs on last season
It made sense Dan was the gossip girl from the beginning. at season 2 last episode serene text gossip girl to met at the lounge and dan was the first person showed up and the only person did not received the text that gossip girl foward to everyone meeting serena at lounge. .
Even when in Season 6 where Dan caught Ivy and Rufus together Gossip Girl said something like that's something I didn't want to see or something like that when Dan was the soul person on the screen. Also we all new Gossip Girl had to be someone close because not everything that got posted was sent in Gossip Girl already knew what happen and because Dan is the only one the writes for a living it made sense cause he had a lot of time to do it. And when Serena/ Nate had a tracker put on a tracker on Gossip Girl's phone and left in the limo after Dan left in a taxi and they went on the same trail. So there we a lot of hints that Dan was Gossip Girl from Season1.
Dan may have created the site, but they all schemed and sent clues and pictures in to hurt each other at some point or another just to get even with each other. Just because the site was there doesn't mean they had to participate. They could have ignored it all. There wouldn't have been any drama to post about if they weren't all awful to begin with.
This "plot twist" makes no sense at all. Does anyone remember in season 2 when Dan was going to go to Yale, and then that rumor about Ms. Carr and him sleeping together started? Why would he put his own future in jeopardy by posting a false rumor about him online? Or in season 1 when Serena bought those pregnancy tests, and Gossip Girl posted the rumor online about Dan getting her pregnant. Don't forget in season 2 how he wasn't supposed to talk about his brother to anyone yet because Rufus and Lilly didn't want him to. Dan wouldn't go behind their backs and tell his girlfriend. If you rewatch the series, Dan being Gossip Girl will not make sense.
Ciara Horan that's like this everytime something is posted about him... i think that's because people send tips to him and if he starts to select the informations he gets taht would be suspicious
Ciara Horan To be honest him being Gossip Girl actually makes the most sense. He would post it because if he was selective with the blasts, people would figure out its him really quickly. And think about it. Who else in the show would write about one of the millions and trillions of boys that happened to like Serena van Der Woodsen? Name one person that would do it.
Ciara Horan For me it make sense because I have a slightly different conception about Dan. He WOULD jeopardize his future with a scandal like that because, as Vanessa said, he wanted more than anything to be one of the 'Upper East Side kids' and what screams Upper East Side more than a student/teacher scandal? I felt like it made sense that he was Gossip Girl because he would be the only one who would WANT to be written about, he said it himself, he tried to write himself into the story of the UES. He valued his fame more than anything else.
Ciara Horan Actually it dose make sense . Dan exposed his affair with miss Car because he got mad at her for using information he told her , to get Blair out of Yale. So he desided to do what he tought was right by exposing her . He posted the rumour about Serena being pragnent so that she would talk to him if it`s true and it would be suspicious if there were no blasts for him ,besides he was always writting about life on Upper east side . He showd the video of Blair telling Chuck she loves him at her wedding because he knew she didin`t love Louis
Just finished the last episode. I just feel like Season 6 was rushed and not well written. They should have pushed for a Season 7 to end everything properly. Still, was a great show and I'm going to miss watching it!
CW didn't give them a proper ending. 10 episodes was not enough to end the series. Still, the first two seasons were excellent, and seasons 4 and 5 were pretty good. I miss the series.
Peter Parker Sean Gault CW actually gave it a proper chance to end the series. Season 5 had horrible ratings and it was a definite cancelation and they still got a season 6 renewal to finish the story! Great series but they messed it up at the end! Everything went down-the-hill from season 5 and season 6 finale.. really? Dan as GG?
There was an interview with one of the original showrunner recently that it was supposed to be Eric and then that blew up and then it was supposed to be Nate because he had never sent in a tip Iike he says here but they ended it with Dan.
isabelle ardern yes you’re correct young lady. But that’s only because it was 10 episodes not the usual 20 plus episodes. Stay lit, Stay calm and most all stay rocking hard nipples.
CrayCray RayRay I just finished watching the show and I found out it was Dan before I started watching it, for me anyway, it didn't take any of the enjoyment out of it, it might though if you've just watched this video
at first i thought it was eric and then i thought it was dorota , i never imagined it was dan 💀but tbh the only reason i watched gossip girl in the first place was because of chuck and blair like I’m so happy they were endgame 👑❤️and it should have been nate and serena not dan and serena like tbh that was really messed up of the producers🙄
I actually did a rewatch during season four or five, to try to figure out who GG was, and during my rewatch I landed on Dan and/or Georgina. And the main reason I landed on them was because in the first episode of season four the gossip girl website is on hiatus. Which makes sense, since Dan and Georgina were busy all Summer taking care of their baby. Some would argue it could have been Chuck, too, since we all know he got shot and wasn't around anymore, but if it was Chuck, who put the site on hiatus? So, nope. It had to be Dan or Georgina. I, one-hundred percent, believed it was one of those two. They were the only ones that made sense at that point. But, I agree! I only watched the show for Chuck and Blair tbh.
Not true. He was the clear protagonist in the first season, then he started acting like a bitch when he turned his back on Vanessa so he can fit in the Upper East Side.
Sometimes he is yummy charming likable Then sometimes like a smug rug that's been beaten in like an old baseball glove or dingy pair of shoes that he covers up with more lacquer than Serena who sparkles enough to pull such a thing off better
think dan is an aspie savant serena full on autistic savant they don't envy each other, even when dan gets respect and serena gets options, not just opportunities
I don't get what's wrong with Dan being GG. It's plausible since the first time I saw him behind the laptop in season 1. However, the fact that him and Serena ended up together was the dumbest thing ever. He humiliated her, rejected her, went out with her best friend and they still get married??? On top of that Blair went from living with him and sleeping with him to calling him scum again. That whole Dan and Blair concept boggled my mind. I preferred Louis over them. The last episode was too rushed I wanted to see more, not just five seconds of Chuck and Blair's wedding and then the flash forward of five years into the future.
Have you seen how many shots they filmed of Dan throughout the entire series looking shocked at something he read of Gossip Girl's (while alone in his room, mind you)? I doesn't make sense and it's just stupid.
locutus94 I never said it was a smart move but then again when Serena told gg to meet her after graduation and Dan first showed up it kind of added up. He was the one that never was accepted into their group. The show just wanted to surprise everyone
@@Sam-wt1cxbecause many worship characters like Chuck and Blair despise their behaviour overlooking their toxicity while making sure to point out their less favourable characters behaviour which are just as bad or slightly less so however it would be deem worse. I certainly didn't watch the show for either character, nor did I ever grow to like them above other GG characters and I definitely wouldn't have watch the show if it was just about them so they didn't save anything for me because I found them to be quite horrible to many people unless it benefited them. I'll admit for me the quality of the show lessen as the series went on for it's run especially the ending of the reveal of GG and Serena and Dan's wedding even if they were my favourite couple. This final episode wasn't a great and fitting end to the show and despite all efforts from the cast, it just came across to me they were over and done with the show.
honestly, i'm not shook that dan changed his name to joe and became a stalker/psychopath/serial killer. it rly feels like the appropriate progression of his character
It does!
Lol
hahahaha

What he did wasn't justice. There were so many instances in the show that made it clear that Dan couldn’t be Gossip Girl though?
1. The times when he was on camera when she sent out a blast and he physically couldn’t post anything
2.The times when he’s alone and he seems genuinely shocked reading what she wrote
3.The time he yelled at Jenny for sending a tip of him and Serena sleeping together when he was with Vanessa
4.The time when he had a conversation with Gossip Girl who blackmailed him into bringing Blair to a party
5. The time When he’s searching for Juliet and emails Gossip Girl for Juliet’s location
6. When he continuously outs himself for cheating
7. The times we visibly see him sending in tips to Gossip Girl
If you’re just looking from an overall standpoint it makes sense but there’s too many plot holes that make it impossible for it to be Dan.

Non-Judging Breakfast Club, as described by Blair in Season 1
well said
preach

Dan/Serena ending up together was the stupidest thing ever.
Christine Canuck ...why? They were meant to be.
the guy stalked her since they were 14.... in what world does this make them meant to be
Christine Canuck I completely agree with you.
Ikr!

Yeah....there is an interview that Penn Badgley (Dan) gave on Huffpost about being GG...apparently he didn't know until the last minute too....he looked just as disappointed by the ending as we were. haha. ; P
No the creator pretty much knew it would be Dan all along, she just didn't tell Penn Badgley that his character was gg until the very end.
Liz Shannon : But the actor not knowing until the end messes up things too though because there would be times where Dan would look super surprised or angry about stuff that GG would post in the show....but if he was GG...he wouldn't react like that...it's dumb. xD I mean obviously you don't want things being leaked but still....unless Dan just pretended to be surprised by stuff in public...lol...but even in private...when he was alone..he would act like he was so surprised. xD
Obviously you don't want fans figuring it out but there are ways to hide it without Dan looking like he has a split-personality disorder...
it kinda makes sense if you watch from the beginning to end and see the little clues like 2x25 the goodbye gossip girl when serena and gg planed to meet and dan showed
no they thought of it from season 1. you can tell i’m re watching it and i realise it’s really obvious it was him now.
"I need Vodka" same Dorota same
“Is your life really ruined Blair “ 😂😂😂... even chuck was like omg she is over reacting 😂😂😂💀
He had the good in him from the start but I'm glad he had best development arc so we could all see his growth throughout the show
Sexually assaulting someone is not truly vicious to you? Wow.
Chuck is secretly good whereas Nate is openly good. Those two are the best in the show to me.
"I always thought it was Dorota" hahahaha me too. 😂😂
+Karla Vanelys I thought it was Serena.
It would have been better if it was Dorota
I just imagined the intro in her voice, Slavic accent and everything.😂😂😂😂😂😂 I'm dead
He's so smug about it it's pissing me off
I’m team Nate and Serena all the way❤️
I have this headcanon that Dan and Serena get divorced and Serena ends up with Nate in the end
Adlyn Ogude agreed
Nate is boring af
no
In retrospect, it was kind of obvious that it was Dan. Like he said, he wrote himself into their world. If someone else was Gossip Girl, they probably wouldn't write about him because at the end of the day he was just one of the many guys that had a crush on Serena.
This is such a good point and now makes everything make sense!
I love that chuck finally was the one to say that dan was one of them.
WHO'S HERE AFTER WATCHING "YOU" ? I FINISHED SEASON 2. LOVE IT!!!!
But I still loved the show =.=
the show was amazing youre hater ..what do you know
maria DC This is one of my favourite shows.
es la mejor serie tu opinión no es relevante
mandy garcia You know what else isn't relevant? Your opinion on my opinion.
"We always knew it was one of us." chuck was the only one to accept him as one of "them" lol love!
1:55 I am obsessed how chuck was holding Blair’s dress train
From the first episode, when Jenny tells Dan "Ohh, now you read Gossip Girl?" I was pretty sure it was Dan
Crappy finale.
Blair should have ended with Chuck (done!)
Serena should have ended with NATE
And Dan, ALONE, as the "lonely boy" he is.
Nate and Jenny.
i thought they should have went out with a bang , like. blair went to see how dan was doing before walking down the isle and then they end up hooking up lol then dan walks down and gets married to serena. lol sorry i guess im kinda wishing they kept dair as bffs on last season
+Guy Incognito yeeeeeeeeeeees
+Guy Incognito couldn't agree more!
+Guy Incognito YASSSS
It made sense Dan was the gossip girl from the beginning. at season 2 last episode serene text gossip girl to met at the lounge and dan was the first person showed up and the only person did not received the text that gossip girl foward to everyone meeting serena at lounge. .
YES EXACTLY!
I knew it when gossip girl told everyone about the menage he had. Only a guy would do that and no one else knew, there was no time.
I thought dan was gossip girl in the first episode, there's a moment at the end when Dan is on the computer and the voice is speaking
not to mention the fact that out of all the main cast members dan is the only poor one so he was the obvious choice
Theory: Dan changed his name to Joe Goldberg due to people knowing he's gossip girl
The thought of that makes Dan even more a psychopath lol
It may not make a lot of sense but it makes the most sense.
Everything went down-the-hill from season 5 and season 6 finale.. really? Dan as GG?
I agree for one thing they should have at least had a full 6th season and not 10 episodes everything was rushed just to try and get it to end
Katie12886 same!
Jenate.. ;(
There was an interview with one of the original showrunner recently that it was supposed to be Eric and then that blew up and then it was supposed to be Nate because he had never sent in a tip Iike he says here but they ended it with Dan.
It’s dan’s fault Blair lost her baby
No its not💀
No One
He told the paparazzi where she would be just cuz it was gossipy and then the car accident happened and her baby died. So what your point??
No One it is though, he is gossip girl so he sent out the blast about chuck&blair being together
The final season was kinda disappointing and rushed 😕
isabelle ardern yes you’re correct young lady. But that’s only because it was 10 episodes not the usual 20 plus episodes.
Stay lit, Stay calm and most all stay rocking hard nipples.
isabelle ardern it was perfectly fine
Man I just started watching Gossip Girl and I'm only on season 3 I just ruin the ending but I couldn't help myself
CrayCray RayRay yh sme here😂😂😂
CrayCray RayRay I just finished watching the show and I found out it was Dan before I started watching it, for me anyway, it didn't take any of the enjoyment out of it, it might though if you've just watched this video
Same but I'm only on season 1 episode 6
I'm on season one episode 3
It really doesn’t ruin anything tbh. There’s so much to unpack
I dont know how can shows make couples that everyone love....but they can! CHAIR FOREVER!!!!!!
That feel when you ship an abusive relationship lmao
@@jonathanbaird8109 finally someone acknowledges how abusive they are
at first i thought it was eric and then i thought it was dorota , i never imagined it was dan 💀but tbh the only reason i watched gossip girl in the first place was because of chuck and blair like I’m so happy they were endgame 👑❤️and it should have been nate and serena not dan and serena like tbh that was really messed up of the producers🙄
Dan was annoying throughout GG
Not true. He was the clear protagonist in the first season, then he started acting like a bitch when he turned his back on Vanessa so he can fit in the Upper East Side.
I hate Dan and the actor that plays him.
ugggh go home Linda
Sometimes he is yummy charming likable
Then sometimes like a smug rug that's been beaten in like an old baseball glove or dingy pair of shoes that he covers up with more lacquer than Serena who sparkles enough to pull such a thing off better
think dan is an aspie savant
serena full on autistic savant
they don't envy each other, even when dan gets respect and serena gets options, not just opportunities
I don't think you know what plausible means.
Yup and Dan and Serena shared a sibling & were step siblings at one point. Makes no sense for them to end up together.
aw and the way chuck is comforting blair 🥺
"He schemed and lied and spread horrible stories."
Realistically, Dan's not the only one who's guilty of THAT, Blair.
I've just ended that show and now i want it again with a new cast a new story I can't over it !
same
same
Sameee.
SAMEE 😭
Fati Madrid basically pll
I think it would have been better if Dorota was Gossip Girl.
there’s so many things that say it’s not dan. i think it should’ve been eric or one of blair’s og minions
Am I the only person that thought it was Jenny at the beginning? It's so weird that it's Dan.
i wish it was little j! that would have made so much sense
Blair and Chuck saved this episode...
Just like they saved the entire show.
How exactly?? Chuck is the most useless character in the whole GG.
@@Sam-wt1cx How that lie taste? Chuck had a great storyline, the best out of all the male characters, and with Blair, they carried the series
@@Sam-wt1cxyou are one mind-numbingly dull tool.
