I feel like the problem with Dan and why people hate him (and Jenny) so much is that they don’t just act like the Upper East Siders. They act like them and then still think they’re better than them in some way because they’re “self aware” and the things they do “are no different than the horrible things they do to each other.” The difference is that the main friend group is always able to forgive each other and come together when it’s necessary. Dan is good at being there for people, but he’s not good at forgiveness. Even when he acts like he’s gotten over something, he still holds onto it and writes about it and exposes people. Yes they’re all guilty (except Nate) for exposing secrets to Gossip Girl for the world to know, but all they do is spill secrets, they aren’t the ones telling the world exactly how they feel about how horrible a certain person is. They say it to their face and then forgive each other. Something Dan doesn’t do. He hides behind a screen and forgives but doesn’t forget.
I don’t blame Dan though Dan and Jenny act the most realistic on this show when it comes to standing up for one another and the reason he isn’t as forgiving as others is because he doesn’t like gossip or being taken advantage of they aren’t use to that environment you’re right but I don’t think hating Dan and Jenny is fair either Blair, Chuck, Serena, and Nate did worse then them. The only thing Dan did worse then them was becoming gossip girl and spreading rumors behind their back that I could understand why he gets hate. I get why Nate punched him as well though.
Also it’s okay if Dan can’t forgive people right away like the others there’s nothing wrong with that and he shouldn’t be hated at all for that reason either
Unrelated, but I hate how it can be years after they finished HS, and yet Nate is still dating petty HS girls. This man’s fetish was Constance Queen B’s.
Exactly! Every single word he wrote about Serena was true. Golden shell with daddy issues - empty, superficial, ready to jump the bones of anyone who shows her some love
Would you like it if your friend disclosed all of your dirty laundry for money? Most people who aren’t rich and powerful have done things they don’t want printed. That’s why his selling out is so much worse. It makes him a danger to everyone.
More I grow up more I understand Bart. His son is a fuck-up, his second wife too and the entire gang act like spoiled brats. Dan actually made a grown-up move and dude gave him respect.
you lost soul don’t even know what you’re talking about, please. The “grown-up move” you’re talking about is the book he wrote about a friend group he literally wanted to be apart of so bad while criticizing every move of them while not being any better pls
Chuck is much better compared to Bart infact he himself messed up Chuck, if he were good father Chuck wouldn't have turned out like that in first place atleast he became better person but Bart never did. Infact he actually went to the extent of killing his own son how is that man better and deserves any respect?
@@jasonmoukala8909going against his own friends writing crap about them. Yes they were wrong but still they were his friends. What he did was wrong I don't know why Dan deserves any praise he is an opportunist and a selfish guy and is no better than his friends atleast they don't pretend that they are good unlike him.
Bart was a monster lol, what are you talking about? Even Chuck wasn't that bad and Chuck was a would-be 🍇ist. Also, Dan's "move" wasn't remotely grown-up in any way, whatsoever.

@@changinglocale9114he is just imagining no one hates dan.he keeps the story interesting otherwise it's just another stupid teen drama.
Exactly
@@changinglocale9114people don’t dan for that. They just hate when he acts like he’s somehow better than them. Same with Jenny and vanessa
I'm still sad there was no Georgina Sparks spin off. She was the most entertaining character and Michelle was incredible playing her
Unrelated, but I hate how it can be years after they finished HS, and yet Nate is still dating petty HS girls. This man’s fetish was Constance Queen B’s.
I think they just needed a fresh new face to somehow keep it in high-school and he was the only guy available to date her
It’s strange even if it is an 18 yr old and a 21 yr old. She’s still in HS and they r working adults. It’s screeeaaaaaams ick!!
These people all did terrible things to eachother, but its fine, because they're insiders, but Dan writing the truth about them is a big no no.
Exactly! Every single word he wrote about Serena was true. Golden shell with daddy issues - empty, superficial, ready to jump the bones of anyone who shows her some love
It wasn't his story to tell!
dan so called loved Serena and wants her back but does everything in his power to expose Serena. might as well marry Vanessa if you don't like her.
The whole point of him sending that article was because he was like it better to be feared than it is to write a love note on the upper east side.
Would you like it if your friend disclosed all of your dirty laundry for money? Most people who aren’t rich and powerful have done things they don’t want printed. That’s why his selling out is so much worse. It makes him a danger to everyone.
imagine hating Dan when Chuck Bass did far more heinous things than him..
Dan always despised Serena.
Exactly. He’s a scary example of how men can lust after you and hate you the whole time but still call it love.
Yes it didn't make sense for them to end up together and they broke up lily and Rufus for this toxic relationship.
4:45 Dan and Georgina could've ended up together as an evil couple.
3:11 Dan was speaking facts though
Serena deserved so much better than dan
she mistreated him just as equally
Dan was telling the truth about those things in the book
Like who? A married guy? Her bff's boyfriend? Much older dude with daughter much closer to her age than him? Ooooh wait... 😂😂😂
as if Serena didn't slept with her bff's boyfriend for a year, had an affair with a married man, and didn't test Dan while having other flings.
Yes, exactly! She should've ended up with Nate instead. Serenata should've been endgame... end of discussion. ❤
😂😂😂😂😂😂 2:03

Am I the only one who HATES Dan?!
Yes Dan was an attention seeker he pretended to hate the upper east side but he was constantly trying to get into the group
