  • 2022 Lamborghini Countach - Makes me emotional
This is what happens when you go back in time, study the greats and combine it with modern design and manufacturing methods - something all major car companies should take inspiration from.
The 2022 Lamborghini Countach is still powered by a screaming V12 behind its ribcage and it brings back one of the most iconic automotive silhouettes in history in a modern style.
The V12 in the new Lamborghini Countach puts out 780 hp with an added 34 electric hp.
Lamborghini will build 112 units priced at $3M. All of which are sold.

@J B Jr Sadly, there won’t be. Lamborghini has announced they’re only building 112 units worldwide. People won’t mod a car this expensive and rare, and there isn’t a large enough customer base (even these issues aside) to warrant any real aftermarket.

I Love it. They did all of this without the exaggeration of taking everything from that legendary 80s supercar to today. Looks perfect on both future and 80s. Front kinda similar to centenario too at certain angles. I think the hybrid powertrain is the only thing that lacks the character that would lives up to the countach name but other than that this tribute car is a perfection.

Being in the hospital the release of the new countach was definitely a bright spot for me. It looks so beautiful, exciting but also simplistic. It's wild but not to an extent as the newer models and by far the best of the limited production Lamborghinis, even better than the Centenario and Sesto Elemento.
Now I want Ferrari to make a new Testarossa and Porsche to make a new 959 :D

    • @sentinelcheese3420
      @sentinelcheese3420 2 года назад +12

While I'd love to see Ferrari revive the Testarossa name, it's sadly not going to happen. Because Ferrari didn't use the name Testarossa for over 25 years, the court ruled that Ferrari lost copyrights for that name to a German toy company. And because Testarossa name is now owned by a German toy maker, it's now impossible to see how that name can be revived. Sad this happened just a few years ago. :(

Repositioning the headlights made a huge impact in my opinion.
When i saw the press release photos, things that bugged me were the tail lights and headlights. The taillights were too identical to Sian, which bothered me and still bothers me. In my opinion countach should and must get a unique taillight treatment ( The taillight housing is extremely beautiful). The Headlights were too Angled and a little bit off. I really wished that, if they were horizontal lights it would have been seducingly beautiful. After seeing this redesign i think i can see what i meant by saying "seducingly beautiful".

4 the most part tho, u r rite. Nissan’s making a 400Z with more classic proportions, the Supra has returned, the Integra is returning, Acura’s actually making Type-S cars again, Mitsubishi brought back Ralliart, a new patent hints at a Mazda RX-9 with an actual rotary (albeit with hybrid assist for emissions related reasons, but it keeps the rotary, which is that made the RX lineup so unique in the first place, so it’s as good as it’s gonna get), etc.

Beautiful seems like a cheap word that doesn't do it justice. It's way more than that.

the man himself, designer of the original 70s Lamborghini Countach LP500 concept and the LP400 prototypo that followed and the rest of the countachs that followed for the next decade, was involved in the making of this one.

Totally agree with you Sketchmonkey, the result of the interpretation and execution is great, nothing to be changed. The only thing that I regret is that only 112 will be made. This project turned out so much better than Bugatti's Centodiecci.

the countach uses a lot of design elements from the Sian too. The rear lights, the black triangle on the sides, the lines that the front headlights of the Sian make up are alse recognisable.

They absolutely nailed the redesign. My biggest complaint is the low number of new Countach's they're actually making. 112 is low for one of the most iconic supercars of all time.
I'm really hoping we start seeing some in depth reviews of it. I'd also like to see what Lamborghini's modern take on a Countach spoiler would look like. If they did it right it could look really nice.

For worldwide homologation the headlights have a certain dimension from the ground to the center beams, I agree I think with a little massaging the lower lights are reminiscent of the poster I still have
