    So if a car is stolen and is paid out by insurers, the finance companies are getting paid via the insurance claim right? So what do they do when they get the car back? Do they just auction it out?

      No idea, might get leased out as a "premium used car" or whatever marketing term they want to slap onto it - GH

      @@MotoringChronicle The insurance companies have contracts with companies like Copart so they recover some of their money by selling the vehicle directly to them. Copart then offer the vehicle for auction and somebody buys the car and puts it back on the road.
