Your videos are really informative and your soothing voice calms my anxiety. I took sabbatical from my job for medical issue last year and had been suffering from depression. Ur videos were my rescue and instigated me in gardening. Gardening filled me with optimism. Thank You and bless you ❤️
I watched many other videos, but don't know why nobody talks about good drainage through the soil 🤔 Thanks to you, my search ends here for this question 😊
Urgent I dont have access to garden soil for my flowering vines I just have premade potting mix , got some bajri(orange construction sand ) and have various organic khads.,vermiculite ,hydrated lime How much of the above do i mix to make a good drainage mix for my 10inch pot. Please advise as drainage issues are troubling me
You are greatly appreciated, been looking for a way to figure this soil business out and you provided the clearest information about it. Great day to you.
I'm 240th. Mam your gardening videos are really interesting and knowledgeable. I learnt a lot of things by watching your videos. So, thankyou for these video. And I have a request can you make a video on “How to treat your plants in growing years and prevention from pests??”
Also there are flying insects which are not mosquitos and are always on the soil .. whenever I water the plant they fly for sometime and settle down ... what are they... how to get rid of those..? How to get rid of symphylan? Whenever i mix neem cake in an effort to solve... fungi develop on the neem cake .. i tried both neem cake powder and neem cake pellets... fungi develops on both... what's the reson? What's the remedy? Someone pls help me with these....😒
You can put fish bone meal to ur plants That is very much effective Neem base whenever you add see that the soil is dry first if u putting liquid fertilizer, secondly mix the neem khal well with soil so that it's not on top & water when the top layer is dry Also see that u don't add neem base in winter's it creates lot of problems during that period
I've been using the sponge-like material (they sell for fish tanks) for pots drainage holes. It's very soft and drains only the water and not the soil.
You cleared on of my nagging doubts with this video..Thanks!..I always wondered if the the "old" soil needs to be discarded n "new" soil used while repotting..
thank you so much your all videos are such amazing and informative but I always say your indoor plants in feel o my God they are so so beautiful and why my plants are so dry
Thank you so much what a great relief…please make a similar video for outdoor plants….rather you can also make a series for the potting mix for different plants….,it will be a hit and very helpful for the viewers….💫💫
Love love loooove the video 💖 fantastic job 😊 I'm always excited to see a new video. I was wondering if it is possible to turn the red south indian soil into black one somehow 🤔 and also how to treat the soil in my garden which is super red and there's no water drainage in it, for purpose of planting trees or veggies? I would love to see a video about outdoor garden soil preparation if it is possible 😊
How much perlite can and should we add to the potting mix? Please do tell. And thank you so much for your videos. Love the information, and love your whole presentation. Your voice and manner of speaking is so very pleasing! Thanks once again.
Hi. It was very useful for me as I'm planning to have indoor plants. I have a small doubt. Please solve it.Can I place dry leaves in the pot before planting indoor plants .
Hi. It depends on how confident you are that they are fungus free. The best way to ensure this, is to put them in gunny sack (bori), and leave it in a sunny spot for a month. Ideally, these should be crumbled by hand and added to your potting mix. They provide a nitrogen fix, and more importantly, improve drainage in the potting mix. This is a organic substitute for perlite. Hope this is helpful.
Thanks for such valuable information. I usually mix exfoliated vermiculite in place of perlite. Reason being most perlite that’s available are fine dust. I hope using vermiculite is ok?
Vermiculite holds moisture, so its a cocopeat substitute. The added benefit of Vermiculite is that it hold fertiliser -such as NPK- and root burn is mitigated. Perlite on the other hand aids in aeration. There are options available which don't supply dust. You are right not to use this dust, as Heaven knows what it may contain!
Very useful video. Thanx for sharing. I have a question ..in potting mix for indoor plants can I use vermicompost in stead of cow dung compost? Please reply
Love the video Ekta. Thank you for putting in efforts to provide scientific information. I have a query hope you would reply. Soil in my indoor plants becomes hard especially on top also inside the pot but still has good drainage. Though when I water it takes a lot of time to completely seep in . How do I resolve this issue any ideas?
You can use perlites as well as cocopeat in your potting mix....it will retain the moisture...if still it too dries up, then use pebbles on top layer of soil or you can do mulching too....once in 2wks you can till/dig the top soil also....
Great video and calm explanation, as always. Thank you so much. One request - can you please explain how to propogate Pyrostegia venusta? Thanks in advance
Once we pot the plant with all the necessary ingredients, after how long we need to repot them and also after how long do we need to add the fertilizer to the pot .. after the first potting. Kindly guide.
