you need to take a photo (with another phone or by taking a screenshot) of the QR code the app gives you when you want to transfer your codes, then save that photo and print it to keep it safe somewhere. If you lose your phone you'll be able to do a backup of all codes by using that QR code you got previously.

You can still export and when the QR comes up take a picture of it and send it to an email so you can take a picture off of that.

Doesn't a transfer of an authenticator account from one device to another eliminate access from the old device. My understanding is that just like Highlander, there can only be one. I was looking for a REAL way to backup codes, in case you have to replicate the one working account. I have a feeling, perhaps wrong, that people attempting to use this method will actually be deleting the old account. Lets see the video when you try to reboot the original app after transfering it to another device. Does it still have accouhts on it? Do they show the same numbers? Otherwise I suspect FUD.
