100% I haven't had a IG or FB account for years, it was making me depressed. Deleting it was the only way I could find peace from the comparisons, the addiction to checking my phone, the time wasted, the negativity, the politics, the distractions, the fatigue of having to post or comment on friend's accounts, the false "perfection", and the drama, it was more than my brain could handle. But most of all, I didn't want to model that behavior to my children; the behavior of constantly checking social media. It is so detrimental to our children's minds and I wouldn't want them to think it's okay because mommy is on there too. My parents are addicted to social media, and they can never fully be present in the moment because they are constantly checking or posting on Facebook. It's so sad how a screen can hold so much power over us.
@@GardenMinistry. so well said! And I know what you mean about family members not even being present at family functions because they are checking Facebook constantly. It’s crazy!!
This is convicting and helpful. My weakness is listening to something everytime I'm doing housework or cooking. It seems innocent but I notice I'm less present with my family and have less patience. And I don't even retain most of the information I'm hearing because I'm distracted. It seems so weird and difficult to stop but it wasn't that long ago that I didn't even have a smart phone. What did I even do all day lol. It's kind of eerie to think we all used to just go about our day without constantly consuming content and that seems so foreign to me now. I downloaded the audiobook you mentioned and hopefully it can ironically give me tips and motivation to stop listening to so much content haha. Thanks ❤
@@___Rebecca___ it is ironic listening to a book about uses less technology haha. But you’ll see it’s not that technology is bad but just being hyper aware of how we’re using it and using it to simplify our lives. He does a way better and more thorough job that I am 😊
Good for you Lauren! I don’t have social media besides RUclips. That’s enough of a distraction for me. 😂 The more I hear people getting off of social media, the more glad I am that I don’t have other accounts.😊 I have been trying really hard to not be on my phone during school time. Technology is so addicting. 🤦🏻♀️
@@jerilyn-ourhomeschooltable it is! And honestly I wish I would have stuck to my gut originally and just never did a creator page in the first place. But you have to learn from experiences and I definitely did with this one
I loved hearing your story, and definitely relate to finding RUclips to 'click' much more with what I want to create vs. Instagram. I also enjoy Facebook for the same reasons...that is my social media for long-distance family and friends who I really do love seeing updates from.
I gave up FB years ago and never had instagram. I try to keep it simple for sure and find social media to be stressful and depressing. Thanks for being a good inspiration out here on RUclips! 🎉❤
Good for you! I never got Instagram for these reasons. I also don't have a Facebook page but my husband does. I scroll his quickly about once a week just to try to see what's going on with family members. I only have RUclips. I never got tick tock either. I learn a lot from RUclips. Also I like to watch certain creators and support them and their channels by playing the ads
I get that feeling on Facebook. It’s really negative for me and I am in a better mood if I am not on it often. I do scroll instagram some for funny reels. 😅
Instagram has always confused me. The weird choppy videos. RUclips is so much more streamlined and simple. I like just sitting down and watching a presentation. I think Instagram aggravates my ADHD. It makes my brain fire off in too many different directions.

Funny thing, haven’t seen you in months, I deactivated my fb and this video popped up.
Life without fb is soo refreshing ❤
I have done the same! Have been off IG and FB for 4 years already. My mental health is 100% better!

I’m adding that book to my TBR list. 😊 Thanks for sharing the homeschool mom encouragement! ❤

Love this video!
Could you Please create a video on 'How to teach young children to read English words, how to hold a pen, and how to write"
I definitely am glad I haven't gotten Instagram and Facebook. I do have a timer on RUclips too. I gotta keep the phone out of my life more!
