Too bad I can't afford to become a patreon atm considering my current electric guitar lineup is a spectre strat(inherited from my grandfather(not good but idk how much I am actually willing to do with it) a Lyon by Washburn L115 (saving to cheaply rebuild into something that actually plays and hopefully sounds good, installed tuners put strings on just so I could even see how it sounded.... needless to say strings are now hanging from the bridge rolled up like they should be in a string pack, with the body cavity open for diagnosis... conclusion screw the pups and electrical components just gonna redo it all) this guitar was given to me, and that is followed by the worst(not because it's a squire at all) a squire affinity strat(previous squire experience, the first 4 years I played was an Indonesian squire stratocaster [not strat] and I believe it was a much better instrument) but this guitar was brought to me by a coworker that one of his friends had left at his house years previously and when he tried to find out if this friend was going to get it was told to do whatever with it... it was covered with a layer of rattle can blackened ductape that once I started pulling from the headstock revealed a green and pink something paintjob, then I chose to explore the body and wow I'm not really sure how I plan to start this project though I really want to figure up a plan to remove and fill what would need to be for a lefty trem to that cavity and find a big headstock left handed strat neck and some vintage style fender tuners with the split and hole down the center of the string winding shaft basically building my own version of the now discontinued(I think) Hendrix strat but idk lol
Did you ever buy it? The myles kennedy sig is my first PRS and I love it. I managed to buy one of the first production models. Already wanting another PRS
Sivk people out there man. Just bought one of these and i love the bird inlays. It is defo worth the money. It sounds much better than the similarly priced epiphone or mexi-strat imho
@@markymark863 I just traded in my Epi LP Custom. Just something about it didn't feel right to me -- and honestly the sound wasn't all that great either. My sister's $200 Fender Squier we got her for Xmas actually plays BETTER in some situations. Really REALLY disappointed with the Epi LP...
Great review again. Owning both a PRS SE (Holcomb) and a mega-expensive Core PRS Custom 24 ten top, the SE's really do hold their own, and are a great guitar.
So my dad got me one of these as a christmas gift, as he found one used that was $300 at guitar center. Whoever had it last swapped the core pickups into it, and clearly had it properly setup. It plays better than my S2 and is very much like my two core custom 22's. Might be the best sounding guitar I own.
Love this guitar and the se 245. I had the se 245 and sold it and bought a Chris Robertson se... which is similar but with coil tapping and p90 in neck. I would pick the Chris Robertson over either the tremonti or the 245... but they are all three the best sound and quality for the price you can find... sound and play like a $4k guitar... and that's coming from someone who owns several $2k to $4k guitars...
I don't know why I noticed, but I think this is the first time I've ever seen a closeup of a black headstock with no dust on it under the strings and on the truss rod cover. I'm getting weirder.
What kind of a person hates on the bird inlays? Honestly, people have no taste. This is one of my favourite guitars I own. It plays. Like. Butter. Perfect mix of classic and modern looks and sounds. PRS never fails to put out quality, and this guitar is a standout of the affordable SE line.
Sick riff! And that tone is perfect for the riff too imo! This is my first guitar and I still play this guitar all the time (my standard e guitar). For the ringing issue, just stuff some fabric in the trem cavity, problem solved!
i have spalted maple se tremonti custom, best one of my guitars in terms of playbility, perfect action, tremolo holds tuning, solid guitar! great riffs man, i dig!
I appreciate this video so much, I am thinking about getting this guitar when I have the funds, and no other demo seemed to demo this guitar in a metal setting. Thank you 🤘🏻
I debated feverishly between the SE Tremonti Custom and SE CU24 and ended up with the CU24 in Trampas Green. The pickups sound similar to my 85/15S's.. I wasn't a fan of their dynamics at first, but after tweaking my amp, they have a unique (and awesome imo) tone i can't get with my Gibsons. SEs are fantastic instruments for the money. Oh and as far as the birds, I turned down S2 Vela and Studio Custom because they didn't have birds.
It’s true.. the fretwork on these are 2nd to none, in my experience. Blown away by it in all honesty..this guitar just feels right and I’m gonna make this my next guitar puchase.
I own one of these and initially I had an awful time keeping it in tune. But I fine tuned the trem' system by leveling and adjusting the trem' screws and most importantly widened the nut slots and now it stays in tune for days. The clarity of the neck pickup rivals the SD Jazz and the bridge p/up can get after it with gain. I'm selling most of my guitars as I edge into retirement. This one may make the final cut.
The springs ringing is normal for vintage style trems. Just stuff some cloth between the springs (or put foam strips inside the springs for a neater solution) and it should be fine.
Mark Tremonti is one of my favorite guitarists. He's awesome! Myles Kennedy has some good chops too. How long has it taken you to breakdown each segment to one of Mark's songs and play it well? Also, will you be reviewing any used guitar gems?
Dude, the synth at the end made that track. Great playing - I've got the same guitar in the discontinued quilted tobacco sunburst, and it is phenomenal (especially with locking tuners).
Yes! My guitar! I love it so much, though I am gonna put either Seymour Duncans or the PRS USA Tremonti pickups in the guitar, love Mark Tremontis tone!
I have this guitar and love it to death. if I had to nit pick, the pick ups could be clearer...but then again so can my playing. I guess comparing them to my Fishmens in my prophecy is not a fair comparison.
Quick question: The other day I saw a comment of someone saying “guitar solos” are not a thing anymore, which I totally disagree. What do you think ? Maybe a video on that ??
Nice, well build guitar. My one required minor set-up when out of the box(high strings action). If you are a tiny boy play this guitar first before you buy ....is very heavy
Hell yeah it is. I just got one myself. Want to put some locking tuners and graphtech nut on in, and it'll be perfect. Maybr some Seymour Duncans eventually, but honestly, the stock pickups are great.
I have a custom 22 and honestly I think Paul Reed Smith makes the best necks on any guitar I've ever played and that includes custom shop Gibsons. It's so smooth and comfortable on my hands, but you pay the price lol.
How on earth did I just get one of these for $400 with a gig bag, free shipping, and no tax?? Oh, and upgraded locking tuners, tusk nut, and strap locks too... I think I done good. It's weird... my guitar is only about 10 numbers away from yours (headstock code). I like that it's from Korea and not the newer less tried and true plant in Indonesia. Man, I can't wait for it to arrive!
dog gone if it doesn't need a set up from day one... but I got a good one!! The guy probably put the nut and tuners on himself and didn't know how to set the action. It's almost ridiculously high. This sucker is heavy too and is oddly weighted in the newly fatter body.
how do you compare this prs se to the gibson lp junior double cut in terms of overall feel and playability? I know they're totally different beasts but they fall in similalar price ranges. curious to hear what you think.

Hi, could it be downtuned easily? Or the bridge will get totally disallined: back/forward move. In a strat type 6 screws bridge you could "Block" it tightening the screws. Is this possibile in PRS bridge?
