I think the secret ingredient to our love affair with these characters is that we grew up with them during a gentler time when perhaps we as a pop culture were more innocent. Remember, there was no Internet, nonsocial media no global village to contend with...just who we knew in our families and in our neighborhoods.

Those of us who were about the same age and grew up with these characters truly felt a sibling bond with them and rode their ups and downs sharply. I used to.think he was so schmaltzy with LH...but now understand it was for a reason. A wholesome family show we will NEVER see the likes of again. He had great vision & TALENT as an artist. Bonanza thru to Highway to Heaven; he was masterful. I miss his talents and wonder what he would think now had he lived longer. Rest in Peace Mr. Landon...you did good. You left a Treasury of Work; a Legacy; and I can understand why the cast felt like they did about you. 💔💖

@@beckyshell4649 there is a movie that Michael Landon Jr. made about his real life, and what it was like growing -up with Michael Landon as his father..I was really shocked how open and honest he was about how his father was nothing like he was on camera..How he was always making him feel like he was not good enough to be his son..And how he walked off and left his mother for a younger woman and basically forgot about their family..He did end it in away that made things appear to have been forgiven when Michael found out that he had terminal cancer..However it just proves that people are flawed and there is no perfect person even though you might perceive them to be on camera..

Actually that one is called Sylvia and is in Season 7. I only know that because I recently had Season 7 from the library. And was going to watch it, but then due to watching others ran out of time and had to take it back to the library. But I'll get it again fairly soon, because I've noticed that at this library that Season 7 isn't one of the popular ones. So it's a pretty easy one to get a hold of.
Yeah I only saw Sylvia once and want to watch it again. I'm the same and mainly remember that they thought it was Albert. But I think it was a random guy in town who acted super nice. And no one had any idea it was him until somehow they caught him. I think it was a random guy in town, not a regular person you see on most of the episodes.
I have Season 6 at the moment and saw the one where Albert and Laura sale Mrs. Olsen their beehive. Tricking her into thinking the bees were asleep and they weren't. That one is the 3rd Miracle, super funny. :)

He was probably my favorite character. Such a good little actor.

    • @oldyellerschannel4676
      @oldyellerschannel4676 6 лет назад +5

I know what you mean, how could Albert become "Doctor Albert Ingalls" if he dies of Leukemia?
Anyway, I stopped watching around the second last season, even though I saw the Morphine addiction episode,
I thought he was always on the show, not returning for special episodes, and I never saw the Leukemia episode
at all...so I am going to pretend I still don't know about it, and Albert lives, grows up, and becomes a Doctor,
      as promised.
I honestly don't know why shows have to do these things.
It's like, what was the point of Charles finding Albert under the stairs, of the family adopting him,
of him pretending to be blind so his biological father wouldn't want him
(if they wanted to get rid of Albert, they could have just let him go with his "father".),
of Charles helping Albert kick the Morphine, if after ALL that, they kill the character off!
      What is the point?
To kill off any HOPE some people still have left?
I always believed that among other things, "Little House" was about HOPE.
No matter what awful thing happened, the Irish guy blowing himself to bits, and his widow and son getting the money the company owed them, Edwards finally kicking his alcoholism,
(after almost killing Albert in a buggy crash, which led to the Morphine addiction),
to Mary going blind, no matter what, at the end of the show, you felt LOVE and you felt uplifted.
So let's just kill off the orphan...jeeze...I have to ask, since it was the last season,
surely the Ingalls must have mentioned Albert at some time, like when they blew up the town,
      where was Albert's grave?
And in the scene they showed, was any of the family with Albert in the Hospital?
It LOOKED like they just abandoned him...again...
This news sucks...thanks a LOT You Tube...SOME things are better left unknown.

This is probably one of the most frustrating characters on TV. Sure, with the leukemia episode you assumed Albert died young. But, at the end of the earlier morphine episode it was said that Albert became a doctor and returned to Walnut Grove.

Same here. Caught that discrepancy in watching the series during the quarantine. Still an exceptional and excellent series but the story line had a little hiccup there.

    • @homero152
      @homero152 4 года назад +16

@@almagracielamorelos5378 IMO, the movies are non-canon & thus, are just glorified fanfiction with Season 9 being the true series finale.
Case(s) in point: "Bless All the Dear Children" has Charles list the film as taking place in 1896 when it should technically be 1890 at best/1889 at least as Rose would only be 2-3 at the time of the film as such a date would have her being 9, not 2-3 years of age.
Also, how could Albert return to Walnut Grove to become the towns physician if it was blown to smitereens in "The Last Farewell?" I guess you COULD argue it could be rebuilt but I just don't see that happening.

on german tv laura said in the end of the morphine episode that Albert came one year later back to Walnut Crove...but with another problem with no solution :-(

@@captainmarvel1204 Of course, being that the show was originally made in the US, it would make sense to do something like that when handed such a retcon.

Seems like a great guy. Great actor for sure. My favorite TV series ever. I feel Landon made a few mistakes though. He had Laura grow up too fast. He had Mary go blind. He had the flippin town blown up. And, HE HAD ALBERT DIE! Great to see he and most of the others that were a part of this show so well grounded and doing well.

Mathew was a great edition to Little House on the Prairie as Albert. Charles got the son he always wanted, and Albert just fit in so well as part of the Ingalls family. Albert and Melissa Gilbert who played Laura were great together. They could have been real siblings. One thing that I learned was that Mathews real brother Patrick played Andy, who was the Garvey's son on the show. There will never be another show like it. It always had such good morals that kids today need to be taught. What a great show.

I’ve watched with such great interest at the interviews of both Matt and Patrick L and the hilarious Mrs . Olson interview and it’s just sad that the kinds of excellent quality there was in television series in drama & comedy in the 70’s and 80’s just doesn’t exist anymore. With the new Millennium came this reality cheaply made garbage. Network television stopped making made for TV movies & miniseries which they had done for over 30+ years. Too expensive they said . I watch more Quality on RUclips than I do network Tv!! God bless you and all the quality entertainment and educational videos all RUclipsrs upload❤❤😅😊

He was such an incredible actor when he was a kid and even in his teens. Loved Whiz Kidz. Hated it when it wasn’t renewed. Because I was getting into computers and it was basically Wargames, weekly. A hacker show before people knew what a hacker was. I wish he’d be doing more stuff now. He definitely deserves it with the talent he was God-given.

Actually I've heard that he's a voice person and is the voice behind the animated characters in shows. Apparently he is the voice of one of the characters in Monsters I think it was. So that is why you don't see him on shows now, but you probably hear his voice without knowing it. :) I know what you mean though, it would be cool to see him on the current day shows.
