I'm 26 and have tonsilitis since yesterday for the first time in my life. Literally drinking water is so painful that I tear up. And with each sip the pain goes from my throat to the ears. It's like two nails stuck in my throat. Bless the child who has it. I can't even bear it as an adult.

I don't know what I have. I am Dragon Ball generation. My throat and mouth has been red and swollen tonsils since 2018 or 2019 now. I still have no clue what it is, and the doctors either rejected me before it was as bad as it is now, or they did not know themselves. So now I am searching for an otolaryngologist. In the beginning, the roof of my mouth was turning dark brown. I signed up for a brand new doctor back then, and he told me black people have darker gums, and there is nothing wrong with my mouth. I kept telling him something is wrong, and he is a dark skin doctor himself. I returned to that place a year later maybe? He was gone and moved to a different location, and it was mostly nurses there now. They checked my throat and I told them it was worse, and asked if it was tonsillitis. She said no, and I would have white beads coming out if it was tonsillitis.
They tested me and said it was strep. I was told multiple times it is strep. No antibiotics worked with not. Not amoxicillin or azithromycin. At one point, I tested for mono, an it was supposedly going to go away with treatment. The roof of my mouth went from normal pink to dark brown, and now my entire throat and esophagus is red with two lumps behind my already swollen tonsils. I don't even know why I am still alive. I was diagnosed with high blood pressure fresh out of high school and when I started college (in 2008). I had hundreds of symptoms back then that no one could figure out, and now I have this problem. It's like a cursed life of being bullied, going to schools I hated, and health problems even though I eat healthy.

Im 25 and going through this. It's one of those things I would never wish on anyone. This is my 3rd episode within the past 5 months, and I have to frequently call out of work and stay bedridden for days at a time because it's so unbearable. It's really starting to get in the way of me living my best life. I'm a very healthy and active guy. I work out, eat well, no bad habits or anything. Every time I have one of these episodes, my symptoms include swollen painful lymph nodes in my neck, earache, headache, fever, extreme fatigue, loss of appetite (I force myself to eat soup and crackers and drink Pedialyte), weakness, malaise, unusual bad smell from my throat, white patches oozing from my tonsils, horrible sore throat (hurts to swallow) and horrible sleep pattern (hard to stay comfortable). Reading the other comments on here makes me feel glad I'm not the only one going through this, and I hope everyone gets well. If I have another episode in the near future, which I'm sure I probably will, I'm looking to have a tonsillectomy procedure done.

Currently have tonsillitis & I’m 29. My tonsils are covered in white and swollen pretty bad. Fatigue took over me, so I’ve been in the bed for 2 days straight. I’ve been on amoxicillin & had to go back to the doctor because I was super nervous about my tonsils looking the way they do. Doc prescribed me prednisone ( I have asthma so I knew exactly what it was when she told me I was going to be placed on a steroid ) which will help with the inflammation. My glands have been so swollen, swallowing has been sooo hard for me. I can’t wait for this to be over!

I just went to the ER this morning for this, I could not breathe and began to choke and PANICKED. I thought it was mucus or a piece of dry meat!!! Went on an ambulance because I couldn't breathe. Whoever has this please breath theough your nose and try to calm down, get to the nearest hospital ASAP. They gave me steroids, pain medicine and antibiotics. I was feeling so much better and able to swallow in after 20 minutes of the medicine given. I am so glad I went. I panicked and cried because I was so scared. Never been theough this in my life. It LITERALLY Feels like your tonsils are going to fall out and you are going to theow them out. I do not wish this on anyone. Seek medical attention and they will help.! You will be okay, the doctor said it should leave in about 6 days. Today is day 3 that I have this so hopefully the worst has passed! ❤

@wendypalafox2480 I'm so sorry you had to go through such a terrifying experience, but it’s great to hear that you’re feeling better after receiving medical treatment. It’s completely understandable to panic when you can’t breathe and feel like something is stuck, especially when it’s as severe as you described. Seeking help right away was the right decision, and the steroids, pain medicine, and antibiotics likely helped reduce inflammation and improve your breathing. You’re not alone in this, and it’s good that you’re on the road to recovery. I hope the rest of your recovery is smooth and the symptoms continue to improve. Stay strong, and take care! ❤

I have had tonsillitis for more than 15 years of my life now, since back in 2ndary school, I usually have chronic sore throat at night and I couldn't eat, or swallow anything, then the next day, I'd feel better.....
But it got more serious when I became an adult and I started taking antibiotics( penicillin, amoxicillin) . The antibiotics will cure my tonsillitis and after a some days or weeks, my throat will start paining again especially at night and I'll continue taking my antibiotics......
I finally realized that it was becuz I usually drank too much cold water, ice cold water, cold drinks and cold stuff especially at night and that was the cause of my on and off tonsillitis.
I stopped drinking cold water or cold drinks, now just like Chinese people, I only drink warm water, warm tea and sometimes hot soup 🍲 and I have been in China now for 2 years free from my usual tonsillitis. 😅

I'm on day 6 of a really bad tonsilitis. I've been sick many times in my life (im 39) but this is probably the most intense throat pain I've ever had to endure. Plus I can barely eat/sleep/drink which makes things even worse...im completely drained.
Inhalation and gargling with salt water helps, but it only offers a brief release.
Starting some antibiotics today hopefully it's gonna ease the pain fast.
It's still really comforting to read all the comments and see that im not alone in this fight. 😀

GUYS GOOD NEWS! like 3 months ago just out of the blue one of my tonsils grew, got enlarged - nothing extreme but enough for frustrating tonsil stones to appear. Doctor said its normal and that I probably overcame some illness. I watched a lot of videos, read a lot too, discovered that some peaople have it for a week and some for a few months, also found gargling with salt water (every hour possible). Basically my only problem was that terrible stones even when they were so tiny, I was feeling so uncomfortable... But right now, during the 3rd month that tonsil started to shrink so much, that stones have no place to form at. SO gargle with salt water and wait, dont urge it to get it surgically removed. GL

@desireegemao5611 I'm really sorry you're experiencing this level of pain. It sounds very uncomfortable and concerning. Pain that intensifies with swallowing and radiates to your ear could be a sign of a few potential issues, such as an ear infection, a dental issue (like an impacted wisdom tooth or gum infection), or even temporomandibular joint (TMJ) problems. It’s important to consult a healthcare professional or dentist as soon as possible to get a proper diagnosis and treatment. The pain you're describing shouldn't be ignored, and prompt medical attention can help relieve the discomfort and address the underlying cause. Please make sure to get checked out soon.

I have tonsilitis since last week wednesday. Started off with a real bad cold and body ache. Thought it was covid but my results came back negative.
Once the cold went away (after day 2), body still continued to ache and my neck started to swell up. I was not able to drink nor eat anything. The best way to ease tonsilitis is to eat pain killers, salt and hot water gargling (atleast 6 times daily, and gargle the whole cup) and eating thc edibles. 😂 Might as well be high and sick than just being miserable and sick. Lol I am now feeling better and able to eat and drink again. Hopefully everyone that has this, recovers fast. 🙏

    • @MedicalCentric
      @MedicalCentric  Год назад +2

Tonsillitis is an inflammation of the tonsils, usually caused by a viral or bacterial infection. Symptoms can vary, and not everyone experiences the same ones.
It's not uncommon for people with tonsillitis to experience:
Sore throat: A painful, scratchy, or dry throat is a common symptom.
Difficulty swallowing: Swelling in the throat and tonsils can make it challenging to swallow, and thick mucus can exacerbate this.
Ear pain: The discomfort in the throat can sometimes radiate to the ears.
Stiff neck: Swollen tonsils and lymph nodes may cause neck stiffness.
Wisdom tooth pain: Tonsillitis symptoms can sometimes feel like they're affecting the teeth and jaw.
Bad breath: This can be due to the presence of infection in the throat.
Excessive saliva: The body's response to irritation in the throat can lead to increased saliva production.
Tonsillitis can be caused by various factors, including viral infections like the common cold or bacterial infections like streptococcal bacteria. It doesn't necessarily mean that you'll get tonsillitis regularly in the future, but some people may be more prone to recurrent tonsillitis.
If you've been experiencing symptoms for eight days and they're not improving, it's essential to consult a healthcare professional. They can evaluate your condition, determine the underlying cause, and recommend appropriate treatment, which might include antibiotics for bacterial tonsillitis. In some cases, recurrent or severe tonsillitis may require a tonsillectomy (surgical removal of the tonsils).
Please seek medical advice for a proper diagnosis and guidance on managing your tonsillitis.

My gp just said take more painkillers and it’ll go over.. nothing helpfull at all.
Luckily I took some acetylcysteine cough syrup 3x a day, that cleared most of my tough slime in my throat.
So that i could finally force myself with tears of pain, to drink ibuprofen to ease my fever and pains. Now I’m slowly recovering after 10 days, voice is a bit hoarse and my stomach is still recovering from all the painkillers and no food. Also lost a good amount of muscle and weight.
      Never again please.

What I could eat: Yoghurt, milky ice lollies, icecream. I sucked also on yoghurt icecubes. I did find that the milky liquid kind of coated over the store throat and numbed it. I could also eat cooked spinage and well mashed potato and egg. I tried to drink fluids, very important. It was struggle but easier after icecream. I had bacterial which after 5 days ridiculous I rang up doc and who got me anti biotics 10 day treatment and I am much better on my 7th day

First time in 19 years of living feeling a sickness this bad and my goodness shits ass. Now im not sure if i have a peritonitis abscess or tonsillitis, its been three days one tonsil got smaller but the other is bigger now. So its now only hurting on one side if it doesn’t go away by next morning going to the doctor

@@Samuel_kalam i went to the clinic to first find out what it was, turns out my tonsillitis turned into a peritonsillar abscess so i had to go to the er to get an incision drainage. Supposedly an abscess can block your air way which mine was close too so i went in two-three days ago, pain subsided but still a bit irritated cause of the healing factor. I’m actually taking antibiotics rn prescribed by my doctor he told me it should heal or start feeling better 2-3 days after the drainage, which is ehh cause im feeling better but still a pain in the ass however he also said it can also take up to a week to fully heal. He also told me that if the pain worsens or nothing changes to go back in and see if i need another drainage or if the healing is just slow. All in all feeling a bit better than i was when I posted this but its still annoying af which is making it hell hopefully i feel a lot better by tmr or the next day or i at least hope i can swallow with out any irritation by then

I drank warm honey water, cold milk *or allergy free milk. I gargled with salt water regularly. After 4 days if it was still bad I rang up the doctor, and I had bacterial tonsillitus and he gave me pencillion and after 2 days it is better though I have to take 10 days course of treatment. @victory548 The duration of symptoms can vary depending on the condition you're experiencing. If you're referring to something like a cold, flu, or a similar illness, it typically lasts around 7-10 days. However, if you're dealing with something chronic or more complex, recovery might take longer. It’s always a good idea to consult a healthcare provider for specific advice tailored to your situation. • @MedicalCentric
      @MedicalCentric  3 месяца назад

@mohammadsarwar8490 If you've had pus in your tonsils for a month and antibiotics haven’t helped, it could be a sign of chronic tonsillitis or a more resistant infection. It’s important to see an ENT specialist to evaluate the situation and consider alternative treatments, which might include stronger antibiotics or even surgery (tonsillectomy) if needed. Don't wait too long, as persistent infections can cause further complications.
