At 6:23 before it dries it looks like a real leaf with 3d textures and the way its reflecting the light. Is there a way to retain that effect in the finished painting?
That's a good question! I do think those textures look cool. Gouache dries with a very matte finish, so sadly I don't think the medium would allow for that. I've heard of gouache colors with a metallic effect, perhaps that could achieve something similar.
My favorite brands are Holbein and a very close second is Winsor & Newton. 😊I just made a blog post with all my favorite supplies here: blog.artbymaddy.com/my-painting-tools/
