A dependable machine from Honda that's underrated. I have enjoyed 2000+ km in 2 months including fair amount of off-road and city traffic.

I got this at 2.05 lakh. For that cost, I felt it's better than ronin, fz25 and the hunter. Yes, you won't have eyes staring curiously at traffic signals but it's a brilliant machine. As strell said, headlight is horrible. But I was told the throw angle can be adjusted. And the bike is really tractable in the city. Higher gears low speeds and lower rpm is never a problem.. Haven't tested it on the highways yet

I own a CB300F, Making all sorts of useful videos related to necessary modifications and maintenance videos on my channel. I was sort of disappointed after watching strells video. then I took the test ride and found that the vibes are manageable, the vibes are mainly from the tank cover which is very thin. Honda is always bad in plastc quality. I got gel seal and grip cushions which eliminated the vibrations from grips and seats. I made the pillion seat wider and comfortable for my wife. Aux lights solved the lighting issue. and lots of useful mods done till date. Also use of XP95 petrol reduced the vibrations from the engine by a significant mergin. So yeah, it's a great bike with some minor modifications!!

I got this bike in January. I had previously booked cb 200x but the stock was not available & I had to wait for almost 2 months. Meanwhile honda declared massive discount on this bike. CB 200x on road price was 1.75 lacs & I got CB 300f for 2.03 lacs in bhilai, chhattisgarh. So, just by paying 30k extra I got the upgraded bike which I think is a great deal. Also, before first service during break-in period I got maximum mileage of 42 Kmpl & currently getting between 35-40 kmpl in all conditions. The engine was pretty vibey in the beginning but I feel it is slowly getting smoother in operation over the time.

I own a CB300F, I have never crossed 6K rpm and I have never felt any irritating vibes. Actually you need to understand the characteristics of the engine. It get maximum torque at 5.5K rpm. As per my knowledge torque is related to acceleration, shift at 6k rpm you will get pretty fast acceleration and at 6th gear you can comfortably cruise around 100Kmph. This is a very good city riding as well as a touring motorcycle. Certain things required for touring as I felt is the handle bar riser for a more upright sitting, seat cushioning and a front visor. It has a pretty good weight to power ratio and weight to torque ratio.

    • @nikhildrao227

If you wanted a touring/city bike that was also had torque, you would get the FZ25 for less money , the new classic 350 with new smooth engine and gearbox combo , or the Gixxer 250 for the effortless mile munching. Stop trying to justify your purchase, say that you bought it because you like it and nothing else.

    # I have a video IDEA for you:
Make videos dedicated to each brand and talk about the entire line-up. The video should be focused on one brand - something like "Which XYZ bike you should buy".
This will help customers who have inclination towards a particular company to select their bike.
For eg, I love Honda bikes, but I am confused about the line-up especially in 200-300 cc segment. Additionally, you can talk about options from other brands, and make another video of that brand. If you are talking about Hornet 2.0, we have RTR 200 as an alternative. If it is about 200X, then VStorm is an alternative.

I wanted to buy this as an upgrade from fz v3. But chose not to even with the 61k discount they offered. First reason, the bigwing guys only let me take a test drive for like 300 meters and asked to return (lame). It's strange, but all the time I felt like there was something wrong with this bike (maybe paranoia kicking in? LOL). I knowingly went on higher revs even when the showroom guy was asking me to change gear...and felt vibrations everywhere after around 6k rpm. So I thought the 61k discount does not make the bike better and said no.
95kmph cruising speed is a bummer. I do 90 kmph all day on the underpowered fz v3 on my tours (have done 6xx kms per day on the little bike. Crazy right?). So yeah, even if on paper it was an upgrade, while riding it, I didn't feel that. Yeah the torque was better but I shouldn't have to justify the comparison with a 149cc bike.
Before I never saw one on the road even after 7 months since release, but hoping to see more as a lot of people jumped on it due to discount (people will buy anything if the discount is big enough). This bike has good looks, so roads will definitely look better with more of these on.

Hornet is a design language, so honestly, complaining that it resembles a 200cc motorcycle may not be correct.
However this bike is not a premium bike nor does it feel that way , even simple things like the keys of the bike , for eg the highness key looks so premium, this looks like a cycle key.

  • @balanandg991
    @balanandg991 Год назад +2

I have purchased one on 31/03/2023 with a discount of Rs 64,000/- thereby costing me around 2,05,000/- on road which also includes extended warranty for the engine. I was sceptic about the mileage and performance as the engine was new and that its power was just 24.1 bhp and 25.6 nm of torque against the 293 cc, though its sharp, sculpted racing looks were appealing. However, I found its 4 valve engine powerful enough as its power to weight ratio was awesome with its kerb weight of just 153 kgs. It is a bliss to drive in city as it is nimble and agile with nice ground clearance and a small turning radius and ofcourse it is fully loaded with features like USD fork, dual channel ABS, radial tyres, traction control, slipper clutch, full LED setup with hazard lights, digital display with BT connectivity, gear position indicator, distance to empty, real time mileage, side stand auto cut off, charging port and ofcourse glide though technology (bike moves with out giving acceleration when clutch is released).
I joined a couple of my friends with their RE Himalayan on highways and some intermittent villages for a day trip of 300 kms with a few places of halts. It was before the 1 st service and hence kept it between 70 and 80 kmph. I was surprised to get around 43-44 kmpl. Though the suspensions were a bit on a tougher side, I never felt fatigue or a sore arm. Later, I checked in the city and found it to give about 32 kmpl which is too good.
I had its first service done after 500 kms at the Bigwing (for premium bikes) and was charged Rs.2,000/- which included the replacement of engine oil, oil filter, O ring and also chain lubrication. Now I am getting around 33-34 kmpl in city and have to take it for long distances to see how much it is going to give now? Just waiting for the summer to end... :)
For now I am feeling great with the bike and its service, have to see in the long run...but again Honda is renowned for its engine life and service.

    • @Cla55icG00se

I think you are lying about highway mileage of 43-44. There is no way the mileage will fluctuate by 10-12 kmpl just because you are not using a clutch and are at a constant speed. That too on a 293 cc engine. Check your calculation. The rest of it seems believable.
