- Well hello there you sexy bunch.
I was fortunate enough to spend a day on some some lil Yammy XSR 125s with some of my pals - Ruby, Deimonte and Bob!
we have such a fun day, the weather was 30 degrees and we had a great time getting out everything the XSR had to offer power wise on the back lanes 🤣
What do you guys think of the XSR?
Thanks for watching!

Wow, that looked so much fun !
The older I get, the more appealing 125’s are. Pure motorcycling……..
Great video 👍
“I’ve got music on, I can’t hear sh!t”, Ruby cracks me up she’s awesome!
She kills me 🤣
Do we really need to be a leaner to have one of these 125's -- No -- Just enjoy any bike that suits you no matter what Size.
In 50 years riding I had plenty of 125s had more fun on them than the bigger bikes.
I've never wanted more than a 125cc, in Europe most people ride scooters and 125cc is seen as big, personally I feel a decent 125cc is adequate for uk roads and far more practical in terms of fuel consumption price, maintenance etc. Once you get into big bikes you are just getting closer to wanting a car in my opinion. I'm not saying big bikes don't have their benefits but I just don't see the point.
Smaller cc light bikes are a whole different kind of fun to ride.
Thanks for the video. I am an older late learning rider and have booked this bike/moped???.
So many people in the comments have it so wrong¡ I only have a car driving licence and can't and don't want to ride higher cc bikes (for now). Likewise, people with an A1 licence can't ride higher cc bikes and max power of 125's has to be 15 hp for them.
That also explains the price (somewhat) because it is not a question of engineering or build cost but of the market they are aimed to.
I am going to buy this bike because I like the brand, I like the looks, I like the technology and I can afford it.
Probably the most influential bike of the decade.
Yamaha are on to a real winner here, it's going to appeal to both new rider's & older rider's with a distinct look of the old RD's of the 80's.
Components and performance for an A1 bike are spot on.
Although I've read reports that the brakes need a bit of a handful to stop in a hurry, which might put off a few who like myself just use a couple of fingers.
Hopefully Yamaha can address this soon though 👍
A fantastic looking bike, if I was learning to ride, I would definitely get one of these. Love the honk honk as you lea e on the start of the ride
Ordered mine as my first bike at 16yo
I got myself one of these earlier this year, as a commuter bike. It's a nice little machine, good looking if you're into the retro style (as I am).
Previously I had a Husqvarna Svartpilen 125, and that one felt more premium. Better brakes and suspension, nice backlit controls, but a little bit heavier unfortunately which matters when you only have 15hp to play with. Engine feels a little bit better on the XSR though. But overall I do prefer the Husqvarna over the XSR, it just feels better to ride.
A funny detail is the LCD panel. Everybody complains about the one on the Husqvarna (and yes it feels a bit cheap) but not many complain about the one on the XSR. The main difference is that the XSR LCD colour is inverted, mostly black with light numbers and text while the one on the Qvarna is classic Casio watch style with light background and black numbers and text. Otherwise pretty similar. Interesting how such a small design choice makes such a huge difference in how people perceive them.
I traded the Svartpilen 125 for a Svartpilen 701, but still wanted a cheap commuter bike so that's why I bought the XSR. Wanted to try something different.
Thanks for a nice review :)
Love this! The styling of the XSR is awesome 😎
Hi Kate, a great review, and I really enjoyed the ride, and what a beautiful day! The bikes look really classy for 125's, and great starter bikes. Lovely to to see you girls together, and enjoying each others company, and some very interesting chat on your experiences.🌹💗🌹
For a small package they look a bit of a handful and rather expensive..........the bike's are not to bad either .😀
I honestly thought that you would have picked the black bike though. Lol 😆
Awesome review as always Kate . Looking forward to your next bike video, great job......thanks for sharing. 👍😊
The bike looks bigger than what it really is. And by your impressions seems it feels like You’re riding a machine with a Higher engine power. Nice. Yamaha is a truly big motorcycle brand with a permanent seat at the table in the motorbike’s Market.
I agree,it does look bigger than a 125,Stylish and not all angular, good instrumentation.BTW those sausage and bacon rolls looked really nice, drop of brown sauce and a nice cup of tea ,lovely job.! Enjoyed watching you girls enjoying yourselves.
I've got a Gen 2 Hayabusa, but I absolutely love riding my Mrs' 125, I would definitely have one of these for pottering around the countryside.
Nice one Kate, looks like you galls had a blast and luckily good weather too.👍👍
Thanks for posting. The bikes look nice, but imho, Yamaha should consider making a scrambler version of this bike. I think it would be a hoot and a half on a dirt trail.
Good review. I saw one at my local bike dealers and made a bee line for it, couldn’t believe it was a 125. Would love to see it with the 300 engine in it!
I knowwwww that would be ACE!
😂...."secret ginger" cracked me up. Another great video thank you. Impressed with the 125's. They look pretty good!
Yamaha xsr125 classic really cool bike for a first bike great review thanks Kate 👍💙😄
Great looking bike for a 125, love the retro styling and very in-keeping with the other XSRs - but it is a little pricey. Looks a lot of fun tho. Great vid!
That was awesome! You and your girls kicked ass on those bikes! Almost sounded like 2 strokers! Nicely done! :)
I got the 155 variant and yep, enjoying it
Love the yellow …..ps. Your not an amateur! Been years since I’ve ridden a 125cc …..ill lookup this professional Moto Bob! Lol…stay safe Kate.
Haha his videos are top tier! He is defo a professional 😁
Wow! All the lovely ladies ....plus Bob. :)
For some reason I like it when you were riding behind Ruby. I can't quite put my finger on why I like it, but oh I do so very much. ;)
Kate, fantastic work. Really enjoyed that. What a kick-ass little bike. I’m tempted, I must say…. 👍👍👍👍👍👍
That looks wicked for a 125 Kate :O blown away by it.
got to love the girls day out and bob hahaha
we have here in the philippines yamaha xsr 155...nice classic looking bike...my dream bike
Great review... looks like a cracking wee bike 👍
3:35 thanks holly devil I survive this first 3 and a half minutes and now it's looks like the actual review is about to start.
14:09 - The most pleasurable part of the video. Probably.
3.5 minutes shouldn't kill you 🤣
@@UsernameKate it's makes me stronger! :)
@@FNobody 💪💪💪
Beautiful looking bikes. I recently learnt that a lot of people learn to ride late in life & a bike like this definitely suits older new riders. I can't imagine many 17 year olds riding one because of the cost but I could be wrong.
Got myself one at 16yo, can‘t wait
@@janstampfli3380 amazing. Thats a fantastic bike
Nice crew! You guys should do more stuff. Slow bike fast!👍🏻
Those little XSRs look like a lot of fun to ride on the back roads.
They nailed the styling
They look class I'd love to test one out and the fact it shows you what fear it's in is such a great feature that I think most if not all bikes should come with 😄
Even over took a van! Brave on a 125! 😂 Brilliant video.
If i bought this bike i would definitely get a custom tank and seat
Only 30 degrees it was more than that at 7 am here in LA !
In other worlds its bloody hot says the English man in California
Stay cool ,Nice review keep up the good work
‘Learner’ riders are so spoilt for choice these days. Great looking bike and excellently reviewed.
R125 / YS 125/ MT 125 / XSR 125 - CB125R - MONKEY - GROM -CB125F / Z125 / NINJA 125 GSXS 125/ GSXR 125 / DUKE 125 /RC 125 and 40 other bike atleast crazy
Spoilt Not really. 125ccm Bikes are really expensive these days.
Looked like a super fun day out.. You should get the 18stone man on the 125 to give it a review too (Yes Im 18 stone).. Defo needs a bigger pipe as I know this would gurgle..
Keep the reviews and the vids coming, its such a laugh watching your vids.. :-)
Nice review Kate 🐊. Looks like you girls had fun.
You girls look amazing! Have a nice weekend!
The fit and finish looked pretty good. I’d say ya get a lot of bang for your buck on this one. 👍🏼
Wow. Yamaha raised the 125 bar with this. Excellent.
I’ve just come across this video while looking around for reviews of what to get for for my first bike after I do my CBT. These look quality and the riding position looks to suit me more compared to the YZF-R125. Good fun vid, thanks for sharing Kate. Hope you are on the mend and can get out on the bikes again soon.
Thanks Ian, still no change for me I'm afraid 😕 the XSR 125 is a lovely bike!!
@@UsernameKate I'm sorry to hear that Kate :( Hope it clears up soon, can't be any fun. XSR125 or MT125 is my shortlist but got a few months to decide, CBT is Nov, bet it rains 🙂
@@ianwatkins9260 if it rains and you complete it, you're ready to tackle ANYTHING 💪
Great review of what we can only say is a fantastic bike but I'm shocked to see it's over six and half grand specced up with an Akropovic exhaust, sounds nice too!
I remember when you could pick up a brand new gsxr1000 for £8000!
I liked the little cruiser .
Same price as a kawasaki Z400. How do you justify that?
Those bikes look the business, I can see the XSR900 styling cues, but I feel like I'd rather have 250cc's than inverted forks at that price point.... and I wondered where Motobob had disappeared to until he whizzed by near the end.
Lovely roads to ride there! 😍
£4,400?, fuuuuucking hell, poor kids these days!. I remember paying £3000 for my brand new Aprilia MX 125 back in 2007 and that thing was a fucking beast!, 33hp and got over 100mph out of it, looked amazing too, I used to go off road on it and ride up and down stairs and shit haha, i still miss it all these years later.
If I’m honest these are great looking bikes, and decently punchy for all the emissions regs now. But, I’m still drooling over the new MT-09. Great vid by the way, keep it up!
Those bikes look like a blast to ride!!!
First. That's a good looking bike. Have you got a link to Ruby rides channel? 🏍👌
She's just on insta @_rubyrides_ 👍
Haha lucky your not in Australia then Kate, i dont think you would survive lol but love ya Vids :-)
Thanks Kate, this looked so much fun it nearly made up for my poor year of biking (thx covid) :>)
Tempting but not gonna spend 4k on my first bike when want to upgrade in a year or so. Well I have no clue how the second hand market works! (Been looking for a 125cc and seems like buying new is the best idea). Great vid n bikes though!
P.s Dont complain about the Uk weather or we will get a cold wet winter and I have my CBT soon😉. That said I dont mind the cold. (But wet as a learner not ideal)
Just going for full big bike licence I've been riding yamaha125 wrx there great first bike
Great little bike...nice review too!..You guys (girls!😀) should do a ride out together sometime..Cheers, Steve
Excellent Kate.Loved it.Just need to find £4450 and I'm away.
Brave tutte! Complimenti…grazie
Hi Kate, just found your channel... Recognise you from MCN... They look like fun little bikes.
This looks like a quality built bike. If I was in the market......
🤯 at 1.53min. She was filmed by Backy Evans -amazing sometimes i wish i were a Rockstar only to "lead a group of Superbikemodels" ...Kate is this all connections in RUclips-Socity?
-great conntend👍
god I normally don't like this style of bike but god the red looks sexy
Looks like you might have been Username Late but it didn’t look like you missed anything too critical at the event! Thanks for sharing with all of us! 😇🙏
Great looking bike ! 👍
best looking 125 atm
Nice bike and the bikers
You three girls ride well I would love to ride with all three of you 💕, I will check out tomboy and ruby. I must admit the bikes look good but a lot of 💰
They all seem to have a decent back end on them, bikes are ok too
Even Motobob? 😅 he will be flattered!
@@UsernameKate 😃😃
Great video review, are you still track riding too
The thing is, for most riders a 125 is a means to an end. You learn your basics, hopefully pass your test and then move upwards and onwards. So why spend £4.5k when you can by a Chinese item for less than £2k?
Wow
What a threesome ... you young women gave, probably, the most honest reviews around.
Especially with the different bikes in your stables.
Nice chat & interview Kate. Your riding commentary has to be rated top notch.
Good video Kate but too much money for a 125.
Think I'd buy a Royal Enfield Meteor and save myself £900 which I'd spend on some decent bike kit.
Overtaking an OpenReach van is nothing to shout about, they took 3 1/2 weeks to get to my place...
#teamyellow at minute for me 💪🏻
I really like your good review Yamaha xsr 125 girls very nice video
I’d like to get one of these. My 125 isn’t great.
💖✌
This cheered me up ,just cm out of having covid (sucks) lovely 125 ,why are 125cc so blummin expensive 😢.
Superb !!!! :))
👍👍👍👍
The Yamaha company has announced that this bike will be available in India this year.

I like your video mabuhay ka from Philippines 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🥰
Cheers 🍻 from the states
Motobob had some nice lines round those bends.
you might come or visit in south east asia try to test ride the xsr 155 its even more nimble and powerful than the xsr 125...nice videos gorgeous lady 😉😁
Thanks Francis 😊
@@UsernameKate 😉😁
125 woow...like u n y'r bike
Motocicleta muito show 👍🇧🇷🙌
Same price in € and half of it outside europe for the 155 version. This is milk and sugar with the tea
I wish they would have put their 321cc into that frame. Would have bought one in a heartbeat.
Nice wee bike
We still don't have them in India.. Waiting for it..
Nice bikes.
Hi Kate, when will you be showing your adventures from your Scotland adventure. .Cheers Mark
Need time to edit it I'm afraid. It takes sooooo long, there's hours of footage each day and 8 days to go through. Team that with work and filming, it feels like an impossible task at the moment :(
@@UsernameKate appreciate you replying, keep up the great work and I will be patient 👍
Hi Kate
I think you should know that your video on the R18 was the final straw that made me decide to buy one. And the more I ride it the more I appreciate the quality.
His name is Milo😂 awesome review and truly respect the effort that goes into what you are doing . Thank you for funny educational reviews. I must say you episode with the electric bike shopping in Lidl just made my week.
Hi hihi,, good riders, with 125,,enjoy
These bikes look really good, but I’m hoping they’ll put the MT03 through the XSR treatment.
Oooh imagine!
I like your reviews Kate but a clip on mike would have worked better because one minuet i turned all the volumes to full on my computer and next im getting super loud Kate in my ears
other than that i like the presentation and the Bike
Oh set up has come on alonggg way since this was flmed, dont worry :)
Merci les filles . je veux une XSR125 maintenant 😍😍.a bientot 😉.
