Ohh man sorry to hear about your friend that is a very hard pill to swallow I have lived through that more than once unfortunately, Love the custom work on that rack and a OBS Ford would be sweet a 89 is a IDI diesel I don't know too much about them but they are different than the powerstrokes in the later models but I look forward to the content whatever you decide. I also had to kick Busch from the fridge got me some coors and miller in there now lol all my signs are gone from the shop too.
It’s a shame, cause I liked me so lattes! Yea from what I read the IDI relies on 100% mechanical parts. But if it’s automatic I think it had electronics in the transmission, but if standard then there is none. One I’m lookin at is automatic so it would have that. But parts are much much cheaper for the IDI. Like Pennies on the dollar. 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸

Turned out badass man! The 7.3 is badass. My first vehicle was a 89 F-250, loved that truck. Only issue I had with it was the windshield started leaking, which is common with the old Ford trucks. Also had a 96 350 dually that was 7.3. Called it my Liberty Tank. (Windshield also leaked lol) hard to kill them 7.3’s son!

Condolences on your buddy passing. I know what thats like too, makes you think differently about things and puts things in perspective. Your heart is in the right place with priorities focusing on your family and not having to have the latest and greatest things to be happy. Two things. 1) I'm with you on the new truck thing. I'm within spittin distance of 300,000 miles on my '19, and if that engine ever takes a shit, I'd rather buy a complete engine and replace the old one rather than have something I can't use an Ezlynk tuner in, and 2). Congrats on dumping Anheuser-Bush. I'm done with them, Disney and any other company that supports a perversion that less than one half of one percent of the country wants to push on us. BTW, my preferred pronoun is grown ass man.
Hell yeah brother! Get the truck! The manual transmission trucks had problems with the firewall busting where the clutch pedal bolts to the floor. You’ll be good as gold with a automatic! If you’re kicking around an old school diesel- I’d look a 12 valve (p pump) with a 5 or 6 speed manual…. No computer…. All mechanical…. Ridiculous how easy it is to add power….

Went into field metering a little over 5 years ago. Basically wire up transformer rated customers and big sub station jobs. Wanted something with less OT so I could be with my family and not miss everything like I saw the old lineman do for years. Hell I still missed alot before I was married. Same hourly pay, just more of a 6-430 gig and not getting called out every night and weekend. 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸

First thing I did to my SuperDuty was add the American Flag stickers to the glove box area and as soon as the wife’s Bronco showed up I put them on hers too👍🏻🇺🇸
Here’s the edited part. Go for a 350 over a 250 and the only reason is the front axle. The 350s were solid axles, cheaper and easier to mess with and they’ll clear 35s stock. Wish I still had the one I sold a couple years back. 96 F350 white crew cab longbed, xlt with a rebuilt 7.3 and a 5spd. That truck was clean. Had a few of them from that era and rarely had a lick of trouble with them

@@COLTSWAY I had 2, one was a 97, just like what you’re looking to buy. Standard cab, long bed, diesel that I bought brand new. Red, sat on 35” Thornbirds mounted to ConvoPro wheels. The CrewCab didn’t have 35s, just a healthy set of BFG A/Ts on aftermarket Alcoa looking wheels. That 97 was the best damn truck I ever had, never shoulda sold it. It was before fuel got messed with so she’d clear 20mpg with ease
