Thanks for sharing your time and taking the time to share it!
I laughed quite a bit when Fran was trying to close the window and the swan was outside. Pretty cute.
Ha Ha, they can be so scary
Thank you for all of this good fun, y’all!
Our pleasure!
Absolutely beautiful. Thank you!
Thank you so much!
I got so absorbed in your film of Skipton Castle, that when you took the shot up the large flue of the fireplace, I actually ducked my head!!! 🙄🙄🙄
Instant regret chucking that bag down 😂😂
G’day Fran & Rich. We loved this video. 4 years ago we were in the UK and we spent some time in Yorkshire which we loved. We had a day in Skipton so was great to see your visit there. One of your best videos. Debbie & Patrick in New Zealand
I like your art
Snowdrops and Fran scavenging for wild garlic it surely is Spring.
What a lovely vlog, the walk through the woods with those natural sculptures was the epitome of Spring and a spectacular castle to crown the whole episode, Skipton looks to be quite a little jewel . Rich's painting sure came to life when the tape came off ,a keeper I would say Rich.
Thanks Rich and Fran take care happy cruising
Thank you Ralph. I think those woods will come to life when spring comes here to stay
Thanks!
Thank you so much again William. I'm glad you are enjoying the videos. We will treat ourselves to a cake in the cafe at the weekend. 😊🧡
Lovely vlog!! Happy memories of cruises we’ve done and places we’ve visited. So glad you’re enjoying this beautiful part of Yorkshire. Jenny + Trev. NB. Life of Riley ❤
I am moving on to my narrowboat next weekend, and when my friends and family ask what i am looking forward to the most i tell them Yorkshire, i will show them this and then they will understand why, thanks for showing what a beautiful place it is.
It really is, I hope you can get up here soon. Good luck for next weekend
Wonderful
Good one, nice to see you again it has been a while
So great to see that Spring has finally sprung for you!
We’re looking at another 4-6” of snow here in Minnesota. April Fools is coming a day early.
The UK is beautiful! I hope to one day see it with my own eyes, however, seeing it from narrowboats has been amazing. Slowly enough you can see what's around!
That is true, we see so much more by travelling so slowly
That is just awesome backdrop scenery in your intro, wow, just spectacular. Cheers and stay safe and healthy.
That picture is really good
Loved the video , beautiful scenery ….. and really liked your painting 🖼️ ……. 💞📚💞
Thank you so much!
You should get a trolley with a box, and the trolley becomes your coal storage too.
Great stuff, and what a lovely, atmospheric painting you've done, Rich, I love it.
That castle is fabulous! I really appreciated the video of it. Oh my, I could smell that garlic! What a find! The dogs look happy and like them, I don't like riding on buses. I woke at 4AM to find you'd posted and it was 40F no wonder I woke, too cold for my knees! Rain was off and on yesterday and lots of wind. Some areas around us had tornados. However, we were missed. Thank you so much for sharing.
Glad you escaped the tornados. Thanks for watching
Rich - I really rather like that piece of art work. Not a fan normally of abstract but that is really great. Skipton looks amazing - definitely on my bucket list
Thank you so much
The life sized figures made with twigs and branches must have been a joy to come across. They are so well done with mother nature’s materials.
Lovely vlog. Beautiful scenery but oh for a bit of sunshine. Don't know about you but we've had more than enough of grey skies and cold winds. Hope it all perks up for you soon!.
Quite agree, sunshine is needed
Lovely video, that swan made me laugh at the end! 😊🦢
Hi, you two , in the vlog when you say you need a trolley , there was a yellow wheelbarrow over your shoulder you could have borrowed 😂 Paul Glennis NB just the job.
Beautiful video. Cheeky swan at the end. Thanks for taking us with you and showing the area and scenery. Delightful.
❤fabulous to see you both and I loved seeing your artwork Rich. ❤that castle is amazing and the woodlands walk. Thanks for taking us along with you on your travels. ❤
You are very welcome
Those sculptures using the “twigs” were lovely (as was the rest of the area) - what’s the story with those, do you know? Thanks for sharing, cheers Deb :)
In 2018, the Woodland Trust commissioned two pieces of natural sculpture for Skipton Castle Woods to celebrate the medieval origins of the wood as a larder and hunting ground for Skipton Castle.
The sculptures were based on a design brief from Woodland Trust interpreted by Yorkshire based willow artist, Anna Cross.
The two sculptures have been enthusiastically adopted and admired by both the local community and visitors from as far as the USA, Japan and Australia thanks to social media.
Hope this helps.......
Thank you neil
Hello 👋🏾 lovely folks, good to see you and the fur babies again 🤗🥰 I’m in awe of those gorgeous breathtaking views on your walks, so tranquil & peaceful. Thank you for braving that bus journey 🥴🤢and still share this amazing part of North Yorkshire with us, especially the castle-Wow. Take care xx 🥰🌸💕
So glad you enjoyed it , it really is a wonderful area
The wild garlic was a great find - more foraging would be fun to watch.
The season is kicking off now so I hope to do more
as long as you don't pull the ramps roots, but just pick the leaves, they will grow back.
We never pick roots from the wild, it is only permitted to collect leaves, flowers and seed and even then only 1 in 20 so there is plenty left
Beautiful photos that you saved 😉 and lovely painting,i like the sweep of the brush strokes x
Thank you
Such a pleasure seeing you two on the go again. Lovely scenery as always, no matter you go. Thank you Rich for giving us the inside view of your artwork being created. Your painting turned out absolutely beautiful! Thank you for sharing the day in the lives of Rick and Fran. Skipton Forrest is a wonderful place to visit, I hope I can do that one day. I truly enjoyed this vlog. Looking forward to seeing what Fran cooks up with all that garlic? Take care you two. 😉
Thank you so much, glad you enjoyed it and that you liked Rich's artwork.
Great painting. I like it. Great shots of the walks you took. Maybe you will come back some time and show us some more in the future. Thank you for taking me along! 😆
Thanks for showing the view 😊
Those woods seem quite fantastic and magical. Thanks so much for sharing with us. It stuns and amuses me how cheeky those swans can be. I liked the colors in your painting, Rich. Be well. Leigh
Thank you Leigh
Great video, thanks for sharing, lovely to see all the signs of Spring!
I love Skipton. One of my favourite places. My little one was born not far from there! Think it's over due a return visit :) The ransomes are prolific in the area and the smell is everywhere! Wonderful! Thanks to taking up along with you, most enjoyable!!! X
Thank you so much
Nice to see you both beautiful video thank you xx
Thank you!! That was great!! Skipton is beautiful!!
Beautiful scenery, loved it all!
Hello from Florida. Seeing the pictures of the waterfall and landscape just makes me want to jump on a jet and fly over there to take it all in with you. One of these days I may just show up over there on a day boat. Really love your videos some of some of the best on the net work. ❤
Thank you so much 😊
You two are just an adorable couple! What a beautiful life filled with so many adventures you live. Thank you for taking the time to share your daily lives with us. Can’t wait to see where you go next. ❤
Thank you so much!
Love watching your RUclips you most not be far of burnley
Not too far. We have been in on the bus but haven't got there with the boat yet
@@FloatingOurBoat I’ve been walking on Leeds liverpool canal today went past you bit windy today but at least the sun was out x
Great to see you and signs of Spring.
We loved it up there, we were on holiday in that area 2 years back. Great to see you both enjoying it too
Nice dose of Heidi, Country House Gent and you guys, just before I head off for a lovely night shift in Northamptonshire …
That is a great mix. Heidi and Kevin are both such characters
Wonderful video - I thoroughly enjoyed watching it while having my breakfast. Thank you so much for sharing!
Our pleasure!
Beautiful. I loved the videos of your days. Thank you so much for sharing your life. I always look forward to your Vlogs.
Thank you so much!
Loved today's vlog..love when you both leave the boat and go exploring with the pups. The surrounding areas are spectacular. I'm following some other narrorboaters and they never leave their boat..so boring after a while..love your pics Rich and your weaving is lovely Fran..take care anxiously awaiting your next vlog!
Thank you Prudy, we love sharing our off canal walks, so glad you like them. We hope to do more as it is such a big part of our lives
You need a foldable trolly. You’re of the age that you do not want to pull a muscle or worse. It just takes longer to heal.
Thanks for another great video. Hello from America.
We really don't fancy sliding down that slippery slope of not being active yet. I'm sure doing what we do keeps us fit and strong and we need the exercise. Also the trolleys strong enough to hold coal and last a long while cost an arm and a leg. Thanks for watching
Thanks for taking us along on this beautiful walk, Rich your painting is brilliant, it's good to see that you two and the doggies are well. Take care and all the best. Stevie
I just love how you do the the music always to my taste, and it seems to fit the visions very much for me. I always find them very pleasing to my eye and ear, they seem a perfect combination for me............................. Your Vlogs are so liked by myself................Thanks guys!
Thank you very much! Rich spends a lot of time choosing the right music so your comment is appreciated
@@FloatingOurBoat Cheers and G'Day from rainy old Sydney. And BTW i do find Rich's paintings very JW Turner-ish, and one of my very favourite painters.
Great to see you both. LOL with the Swan issue. Last week one creeped up to the boat while feeding ducks. I landed on the L shape dinnett seat. The Swan reached right through the catch, but didn't get me😂😁X🐰x
They can be very scary and need to learn some manners
That’s a lovely painting
Theakyou it was so lovely. To see all-round there a gen take care all for now..,ALL THE BEST FOR NOW
Glad you enjoyed it Suzanne
There is soo..much wild garlic about this spring. Around us it normally grows well, but it seems to have doubled this year. Very pretty area with the fast flowing streams and waterfalls. How I love those views! And the castle. Superbly maintained. Wonderful video. Top marks xx
Thank you for the info on the wild garlic. There is so much up here but we thought it was just the area. Maybe it is a good year everywhere
Lovely film of your walks through the woods and the streams looked so clear and unpolluted sadly that can't be said about many of the other streams and rivers around the rest of the UK. For the last 12 years, our leaders have allowed privatised water companies to pour raw sewage into the once pristine rivers. Sorry for the rant, but seeing such wanton pollution upsets me. All the best. Stephen
We quite agree with your rant so please don't apologise. We see so much pollution and although that water looked clear we have noticed a definite absence of fish here so we are also concerned
Outstanding!! Beautiful !!
Very interesting and memorable. Thank you take care.
Glorious video. What scenery. Poor Fran. Nothing worse than dog sick.
Good to see Skipton again.......
Spring! Love the wild garlic, we have it here but I've never seen such patches. Wish I had access to that kind of volume.
It is amazing this year, I have never seen so much
Thank you for a wonderful video, i will have to go to Skipton a place that i have never been to, but from your video a place well worth a visit during the summer, thank you once again for all your lovely video's.
There is so much to see in Skipton it is definitely worth a trip
Great video & it’s given us an idea now to visit Skipton Castle - it looks interesting & very scenic around there. Fab! xx
It would definitely make a great day out and there are lots of pubs and cafes too
The old buildings have it in design, structure and appearance over modern buildings that are being built today. I could spend hours just taking in the asthetics (sp) of them. Have you any way of dehydrating the garlic Fran? Crushed and stored in jars. =-) Take care and thanks as always for the vlog.
I have made garlic pesto and when I get more I will make garlic salt or freeze some in ice cubes
Great job on the painting! A folding trolly would be a great addition. Good video.
lovely
Absolutely loved the twig sculptures, what a nice surprise on the trail!
Love, love, the woodland sculptures. Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful!
I think I'm falling in love with North Yorkshire! Skipton Woods--so lovely. The willow sculptures are magical. And that glorious castle with the handsome yew still thriving. Thank you for sharing this beauty. (And then of course just to prove it's real life, and all not all sunshine and rainbows, we have sick dogs to clean up after:))
Ha Ha, we always try to show the reality 😂
Lovely boat. I'm jealous. I'm 46 in Ireland. I'm 50,000 away from boat life😢
Footage from your phone was amazing, nothing more needed!
What a gorgeous place. The woods, the castle, so lovely and interesting. Thanks for taking us along!
It is a pleasure.
were looking forwards to wild garlic and nettle soup.
I had carrot and wild garlic pesto soup yesterday and it was delicious
Woman of my own heart.. love the wild flowers xo xo
Lovely❤
Whenever we see a new video of yours pop up we get so happy.🤗
What a gorgeous park and those sculptures are stunning.
Hope you're both well, take care and see you on the next one (soon we hope).
BTW: Rich we loved seeing your artistic talents in action. We were thinking the photo shot of (was it you or Fran) standing there under the beautiful blue/gray sky and the path of rocks, very painter worthy.🎨
And you're so right, coffee without a biscuit is so wrong. 😳
So glad you enjoy the videos and thank you for your comment of the photo of Rich on the rocks. Rich is very much the photographer, but I took this shot and was very happy with it.
@@FloatingOurBoat By the way, are your dogs names, Jess and Archie? I just saw Chris Pickering's latest drawing of two dogs that look exactly like your pups. 🐾🐾
Hi Fran & Rich, wonderful video! What a beautiful walk through the woods, it looks so peaceful. You both are looking wonderful. Sorry to hear the poor dogs were sick on the bus...I would have been as well on a bus ride like that...please give them a hug for me. 🐾 Love your boots Fran! Have a wonderful week! Take really good care, stay well! Lots of love Kathy x 🥀🥀🌸🌸🌺🌺
Thank you 🧡
Great video as always, loved wicker figures in the woods. Great painting Rich.
Really loved this! Bit of everything, most professional while still fresh and inviting.
Thank you
Thanks
Thank you so much Andrew. It is really appreciated.
Skipton looks beautiful, looking forward to this visit. Lovely Vlog, the swan made me laugh. A breath of fresh air Vlog. Thank you both xx
I am still not used to how aggressive the swans can be and they always make me jump. Thanks for watching
Hi Fran and Rich. So good to walk around in Spring. There was so much wild garlic growing in those woods. Take care. Nick
Not sure if it is a particularly good in this area or if it is a good year but we have never seen it as prolific
Scaffolding is a complete menace it spoils a great view!
So true!
Lovely video, It's always great to see how much people enjoy our local area. I'm going to pick some wild garlic this week probably from Skipton Woods. The woods look amazing when it is in flower.
Looking forward to seeing what you think of the next section of canal.
We will try to get back to the woods when the ramsons are in flower. It must be amazing
@@FloatingOurBoat if you return to skipton at the end of April, the bluebells in Middleton Woods in Ilkley near the Lido are amazing. I'm happy to give you a lift over to see them.
I looked back at my previous comments, to see if it was me that mentioned the wild garlic....looks like I've mentioned the bluebells a few times!
Thank you🙏✝️🙏🇨🇦
You are so welcome
You guys have got life sorted, thanks again for sharing
Our pleasure!
Beautiful. Thank you.
Another beautiful video. Wonderful views of the beautiful North Yorkshire countryside and of Skipton. Great stuff!
Glad you enjoyed it
Lovely video. Scenery is fantastic. Well done.
Such a lovely video. Thank you.
YES! I think its the same for all creative pursuits! Same as doing floral art or arranging. I call it "Tweeking" hahaha Rich haha Nice little bus! Looked more like a show ride HAHA
It was like a show ride and we don't like them either!!!!😂
Smashing, lovely quality vlogs, something about Yorkshire history scenery etc bet its lovely in summer. X
Nice video. Beautiful views. Thanks😊
So glad you showed the Yew tree at the Castle. Others visit there but never mention it. I'm sure you are aware that the Calendar Girls are all living in Skipton.
We didn't know about calendar girls. Maybe I should have got my kit off behind the tree 😂🤣😂
cool vid
Thank you
Gorgeous! Losing the footage just means you have an excellent excuse to go back and re-hike it once it greens up a bit and you can also claim it will look different w/ leaves etc! It looks like it was an amazing hike with views to remember.
Absolutely
