Hi, after watching your video, I want to share that my wife and I visited 10-11 countries, and we always travel in this way only, prepare itinerary ourselves, budgeted one and do a lot of research and hard work, always save cost as possible. Our traveling is quite similar. Surprisingly, our trolly bag is also same....😂😊😊

As I mentioned in video as well, i booked tour through company chasing lights, tromso. Their big bus tour price is starting 1200 NOK which is approx 9000 INR. You can check their website for booking
We applied for visa around 1.5 months before. For that we did flight bookings, but we didnt booked any internal travels, hotels we booked with pay later options. We got our visa in 2 working days. After that we booked internal travels wherever required and if we got any better deal with hotels we switched those. So I think if u start 2 months before it’s enough.
Is december first week going to be too much cold ? Ppl were trsveling with their kids? Mine is 5 years old and rent a car option is available and feasible?
If you want to see Northern lights, yes it's good. But see it's totally dark over there due to polar nights. So you need to be prepared for that, you need to be careful while driving , depends how much experience you have of driving in snowy landscapes. Anything is manageable off -course, however we need to be cautious of such weather conditions. Thats why I personally choose March, since we got good amount of daylight along with Auroras opportunities Hope you plan your travel soon !! Happy to help

Northern lights is never a guarantee, after all it's a natural phenomenon. But usually months between September- March are good. Best you can do is keep atleast 5 days when in Tromso, and I would recommend booking tours since they can drive you all the way to another country also, if weather not good at one place. Also one thing I came to know from our tour operators, once you are in tromso ( best place in world to see Auroras) , checking KP index is of no use and is not needed also but yeah all you need is no cloud day.
