Sorry, but I have to tell you that Scandinavia consists of Norway, Sweden and Denmark.
Iceland and Finland are not Scandinavian.
According to Wikipedia: _In English usage, Scandinavia also sometimes refers more narrowly to the Scandinavian Peninsula, or more broadly so as to include the Åland Islands, the Faroe Islands, Finland and Iceland._
@@HolgerJakobs Sorry again, but that is not correct. Scandinavia consists of Norway, Sweden and Denmark.
Add Finland and Iceland to those three countries and you have the Nordic countries.
@@HolgerJakobs Do you copy and paste the same answer into all comments? I can bet you I've read the same comment from you three times now...
Scandinavia = Norway + Sweden + Denmark
No matter how much is written anywhere or how much certain people consider other countries to be a part of the region, it was, is and will be incorrect.
@@awaeraas Not all, just a few, because this information was lacking in several which were almost identical. Identical statements require identical answers.
@@HolgerJakobs That I can understand, but what I have more difficulty understanding is why you have not done more research on this topic, before "hitting the commentsection with the hammer". Hammer beeing an erroneous wikipedia page. Just to be clear, I am not trying to be a prick, but very often when someone links to or refers to wiki, many of the comment-readers will just surrender their doubt and then store that information as facts...making even more people confused about what is what.
I read your other comment and will make an effort to have that pages information corrected.
It's not a "the end of the world" issue, but it should be correct :-)
Uhm... Scandinavia is Norway, Denmark and Sweden. The nordics include Finland and Iceland

Beautiful photos! Lovely to hear that you enjoy the north so much! One more point to make is that Lapland also is in Sweden and is actually Sapmi which is the Indigenous Sami folks land in the north of Sweden, Norway, Finland and Russia. Hi, may I know what''s your lens aperture for taking the Northern Lights?
And did you use a time-lapse video or just a normal video function?
I have taken a few time-lapse videos using my F2.8, but not able to take a normal video with it.
Please advise. Thanks....
I did the lowest shutter at 2.8 and then I had the shutter around 5 to 10 seconds with 5000 iso.

Exactly! Although Finland and Iceland is fantastic countries, they are not a part of Scandinavia...surprised so many people are not aware.
Anyway. Good video of fantastic places!
Must be so hard to distinguish Nordic from Scandinavian countries, and besides Its not important we are all the same.
@@Cedisdead It is though, since Scandinavia is referring to a geographical area, it is almost like saying Asia instead of southeast Asia, eastern Europe instead of the baltics or central America instead of the Caribbean.
@@BlonkDaSponk yeah I know but just mean noone will correct you from saying Nordic instead of Scandinavia in Sweden at least.

True! A lot of tourists come underprepared to go hiking or skiing. Lives are lost to this, which is awful and unnecessary.
Scandinavia is only Danmark, Sweden and Norway, not Finland and Iceland. Those five countrys are called the Nordic Countrys or The Nordics

My favourite place in Scandinavia? My couch! 😁
Not a bad place to be :)
Awesome shots and I definitely can understand your enthusiasm for these beautiful landscapes. But I need to talk for a moment about the flipside of the coin.
I also loved exploring Norway and Sweden but there was one reason why I never hiked Trolltunga or other places mentioned in this video - These places are totally overcrowded by tourists who are there in order to capture there own "unique" photo or video of this place (a shot which for sure already exists thousands of times on Instagram, RUclips, etc.).
Even if I absolutely can recommend visiting these Scandinavian countries I just need to admit that the most beautiful and also a bit more unique way to explore them is by hiking into their nationalparks for some days in a row and experience places like in that video just without these masses of tourists around you who just ride the car the whole time in order to stand on a prebuilt platform and missing so much on the untouched wild country.
Just respect nature, don't mess around with the animals and don't leave any trash and you will experience Scandinavia in a totally other and at least in my opinion also in a better way than just visiting just the same overcrowded Instagram locations all the time.
I live here and twatF have a valid point. The best experiences is to be had off the beaten track. Just make sure to have sufficient clothes and equipment for the season you set out in. If you should come across a heard of mini polar bears don't panic. They are just sheep. Totally harmless. Have a safe trip. In the event you find coconuts, you're probably lost and should head further north. It's usually uphill. Be prepared for anything.

The Nordics are a fantastic region, especially when it comes to landscapes - the vast forests and lakes of Finland, the dramatic rock formations of Norway or the lovely waterways of Sweden.
What I liked most (although I am far from having seen most of the countries) is Korouoma (a national park in Finland), Tromsø with the northernmost botanic garden in the world, Sommarøy (a little island west of Tromsø, which can be reached via the island Kvaløya), Kilpisjärvi (a lake close to the point where Finland, Norway and Sweden meet), Aavasaksa (a mountain a bit south of the Arctic Circle in Finland) and Levy (a village and a mountain within the Arctic circle in Finland), Dalsland (with the towns Ed and Mellerud) in Sweden.
It's a pity that we couldn't enjoy Senja fully due to bad weather. We would have had to wait for at least a week until it would clear up.

I should say Denmark and Sweden always underrated in this list. Sweden have Österlen, Halland, Gotland, Abisko, Höga kusten, Västkusten, Sarek. Much of White sand beach around whole Swedish Coast. Sweden also have Northern Light and Midnight sun. Vänern and Vättern many big lakes also.

Thanks Calvin!! Where are you from?
so am i
Maybe get Scandinavian countries right then. NORWAY SWEDEN DENMARK.
I think everything you talked about was amazing. One thing in Sweden i would like to give more attention to is "Sarek national park". More wilderness than that you don't get in Europe. You can hike for days, weeks even without seeing anyone else. Google "rapa valley". Most beautiful place I ever saw.
Hi dear 💕, much love from 🇺🇸

Amazing videos. We went to Norway last year. Feels so weird right now because I am not even allowed to travel more than 5 km from my house. My favourite spots were Geirangerfjord and the Trollstiggen. Eidfjord was also very peaceful.
Wow, I haven’t heard of Eidfjord yet, sounds amazing! Where are you from?
Everyone saying Finland isn't part of Scandinavia - yet the north of Finland (Lapland) is located in the Scandinavian peninsula - while Denmark is not 🤷🏻♂️
@@noori.8146 Although Estonian does seem similar to Finnish, comparing it to Hungarian is a bit stupid, just because it belongs to the same language tree, the two languages don't share any similarities. It's like comparing Romanian to Spanish, or Norwegian to English. People also speak Swedish in Finland.
The cultural and ethnical differences between Sweden and Finland are also nearly non-existant, as Finland was a part of Sweden for over 600 years
it is not scandinavia, that's what we (who actually live there) call the north. original, i know. But Scandinavi is only norway, sweden, denmarks and parts of finland
You’re right! There are some definitions of Scandinavia that also include Iceland and the faroes, so guess it just depends who you ask.

Really interesting that people here are debating about the definition of scandinavia- while not commenting the actual video, -wich is stunning. I'm from Finland and I learnt in school that we belong to Scandinavia, ask any finn, I believe you get the same answer. So, the debate here is Finland part of scandinavia was a bit surprizing :D ...well, then I laugh and I thought next you probably think we have icebears. Think and believe what you want, peace and love.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I never knew the definition of Scandinavia would be so difficult! Love your country!
You mean the Nordic countries, not Scandinavia. But other that that good video man!
While Ireland isn’t in Scandinavia, it’s pretty near by and worth visiting when travelling returns to normal. Quite like Scotland, yet slightly less dramatic inland, it’s even greener and has some amazing cliffs and costal formations to the west. Dublin is beautiful full of old red brick buildings and attractions and towns like Galway are great cultural hotspots. The turbulent history of the north is tragic yet fascinating and with Viking and norman settlements everywhere, it has so much history, great cities and towns and some beautiful countryside.
Wow, you’re making me want to go there! I’d love to witness Ireland!! Are you from there?
Yup! So I may be just a small bit biased

There's no comparison between Ireland and Scandanavia. I would never waste time and money going to Ireland.
Can you suggest some good b&b, cab/taxi companies, northern lights tour companies in Copenhagen/Tromso/Lofoten/Rovaniemi. I am travelling a long distance from India in november hoping to see the northern lights and it will be very helpful.
Thank you
So far, Preikestolen is my favorite place. I want to go and see lots more of the Nordics though. Senja and Lofoten are definately on my list!
Pulpit rock is so freaking epic! That’s awesome you’ve been there!
@@RyanShirley Most insane/beautiful place I have ever seen. Norway has so much to offer.
