You are exactly right - when you break up the human form bird behavior changes, even with groups of photographers. I use this with workshop clients, giving each of them a camo suit.

Have you tried mounting the mic to the hotshoe at the top of camera instead of at the side? Any issues?

Those are from Tragopan. COUVERTURE GHILLIE BEIGE they call them. We are not sponsored, we bought those in Iceland.
