  • Learn how to change background efficiently and easily by just using blend modes in Photoshop, without having to make any difficult selections. Whether it is hair or fur, extracting the subject is no problem using this method, given that the subject is shot on a gray background. Also, later in the tutorial, we'll learn some amazing lighting techniques to add more drama to your image.
In this video, we'll first understand the basic concepts of blend modes working in out favor in removing the background. Then, we'll learn how to actually change or replace the background automatically by using those blend modes and then refine the selections.
Once the new background and the subject are in place, we will adjust the lighting and the colors to match both the elements. Lastly, we are going to learn some cool cross processing/color grading tricks by utilizing one of the most underutilized adjustment layers in a creative fashion.

These are great tutorials. The only thing I might add would be keyboard commands as a lower third. I like how you stop and explain basic things like brush size / opacity IN CONTEXT because those are the questions I've had as I've been learning in my career. It's also nice in that you have good taste and good design sense. Nothing worse than learning from someone who teaches well but makes images that are not aspirational. Good teacher + good image maker = better tutorials. Thanks for posting this.

10:11 if you press one time, and after you press shift and press it on another place, your brush will paint direct line. Very useful when you need to draw a straight line in masks.

Unmish! I've started working with this method and I have a question. The difference is that my subjects are on a neutral gray background that's considerably lighter than the backdrop I need to composite into. Should I use a different approach or blend technique? I'm still experimenting, but I'm not as satisfied with the result on a darker background.
Thanks so much for your videos! There amazing.
