Thanks Zach - I've had the wheels fall off mid round and at the end and it's horrible! I will DEFINITELY try this tip - it makes a lot of sense. thank you very much 🎉
Enjoyed your video and commentating as you played. And I am consistently in the 80's because of 2-3 bad holes. You have a beautiful golf swing that reminds me of the pros on tv. I'm going to continue watching your videos and hopefully I will learn something from it.
Hey Zach, thanks for the tip and a great video! I took your advice and bought the book right after I finished your video!
Zach, enjoyed the video. I'm one of your How to read The Golfing Machine book purchasers so feel I owe you a comment, hope you don't mind. Any student I've had at your level fits into one of my 90% rules, i.e 90% chance set up needs attention!!! In your case looks like your wt. drifts forward toward your toes before takeaway. I find over the arches is best. Keep the faith. Rob
Enjoyed watching this and your game looks good. With the Wedges and short irons your tempo is excellent, and once you can do the same with Driver and 3 wood your game will really take off. Your tempo and transition with the longer clubs was just a hair quick like you said, and once it matches up to your shirt iron tempo you will shave another 3-4 strokes off your game. Great job!
Love your putting stroke
Great advise
Can’t relate to your distance ; just turned 73 and when I hit a good straight 7 iron it goes maybe 145 that said your tip absolutely makes sense; I do it with pitch shots and some putts but I should do it on all shots; when you are a short hitter it’s very difficult to break 80 btw
So close to breaking 80 myself. Had multiple rounds in a row with 80, lipped out on 18 for a 79. Last weekend shot 38 on the front then blew up the back. Always appreciate these kinds of videos as a 12 handicap haha.
Just a matter of time now. You’ll get it 💪
the course looks pure for public. Greens seem to be rolling as true as anyone can ask.. Nice work out there!
When you get it going, never stop. That is my key. Bypass the turn and definitely the bar.
Hey Zach. Great to watch a whole round including all the times you find yourself in the rough and see the strokes you use to recover. Yesterday I had a round of pars and bogies with four 8's thrown in! I was pretty hot with some shots and then "BOOF", off it goes into the rough or the water, never to be seen again! The problem. MY problem is that I never know which shot is coming next. Something a Pro would be happy with, or something that costs 3 strokes. I shoot 108 and then next day 89. Worst ever and best ever in consecutive games. I do the verbal thing out loud, always have and as my scores suggest, sometimes it works but consistency? Nah. Not yet. I can only play 2 or 3 times a week so what do you suggest in terms of practice? Cheers from New Zealand ( The Golfer's Paradise).
Whenever I broke 80, driving and par 3's had to be solid, short game was also key when I missed the green and more birdies than bogies.
Good thought on shot visuals. Poor course condition you played it well
I had also never really heard the verbalize part. I “figured it out” on my drives and find that if I verbalize where I want to hit it, it usually heads that way….and the opposite if I forget.
Hole 12... On the putting green.... If I was over that putt I would only focus on the two ball marks within a foot of the ball 😕
Easy chip well Putt well that’s how you break 80 everybody has their own swing style and you don’t really have to change that. Just learn the short game.
Was on track for a 78 a couple of days ago at a very challenging course. Double bogeyed 18 for an 80. Sighhhh
Is this Majestic Springs around Wilmington OH?
Yes!
So , yeah …sort of opposite for me …i may have a good first hole and maybe a couple great shots on next…then itll all go to shit till im near the end and some shots come back more and more… also i once was trying to break 90 ,many years back (decades) …now im wishfull to get there again but first have to break 100 after i break 110 lol…
good tip, but very difficult to do. hard to make yourself believe in the next shot when 20 in a row went sour. but good advice anyway
How far did he hit his 3wd on hole 9 at 6:21
Smoked that one, probably 285-290
what was that tip?
11:01 - from Every Shot Must Have a Purpose
Lol more like I’m tapping in for 110+ after 18 😂 I need HELP
Build your endurance via biking/walking/running
Dont drink during your round
Make sure you are EATING during your round
This can do wonders for not getting fatigued mid-round.
By “don’t drink” I assume you’re referring to alcohol?
@@thediygolfer Booze/beer is for post round only
To hell with besting 80. Shining at the local Fat-Shot Tourney matters more than chasing something that ain't gonna happen. Crispy shots with a proper stroke incur a penalty; moving the ball requires what comes natural -- hitting the ball fat, laying sod over the ball. It is difficult to embrace one's personal ineptitude but to win at shi^^y golf that's what is demanded.
Can some confirm how far he hit his 3iron at 1:15 🤷🏽♂️
Probably around 240-245
Ok, hole 12.... You hit a 284 yard 3iron??????
6th round in 5 years? You must have been a helluva golfer in college, your 'rusty' game is better than most peoples good game.
Had a few good tourneys, but didn’t play as well as I think I could have in college! The college courses are insanely difficult though, so made my game a lot stronger.
id be stoked to break 90....
18 is too many holes 11 holes would be perfect. Gets boring out there.
My wife agrees. She thinks golf courses should have three 6-hole loops. In a hurry or after work? Play six. Want to play more but get tired before a full round? Play 12. Into golf and want the full experience? Play 18.
I think it's a good idea.
On a related note, I also read a golf tip one time that suggested that the player divide up the course into three 6-hole segments in their mind. Play the first six somewhat cautiously, not taking risks. For the second six, try to beat your first six score by 2-3 strokes. For the last six, try to really focus in on each shot.
A waste of time watching this video. Learned nothing. What is your tip.
