10 MINUTES of Australian Trains on Victoria's North East Line

This week Schony747 is on Victoria's North East Line. I specifically went out to film the V/Line Passenger H Car transfer. The H passenger cars were being transferred to Seymour for preservation. I made a day of it and captured a number of other train movements on the day as well.

10:25 - Beveridge - Pacific National 3MC2 to Griffith with 3 81 Class Locomotives traveling to Junee for servicing.

Here in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, all tracks are broad gauge - 5ft 3". What is the history in Australia that allowed both standard and broad lines to be built. I have travelled the Sydney to Melbourne train and my understanding is that half the track from Melbourne used to be broad gauge and was subsequently converted to standard gauge. Thank you.

Broad Gauge, Standard Gauge and Narrow Gauge mate. It all goes back to colonialism and the different independent states not wanting other states competing with each other.

I'm kinda surprised there were no Sprinters in this video. Were there any running that day?

Just a couple which I didn't manage to catch. The line between Seymour and Shepparton is closed and that frees up Vlos so Sprinters aren't required
