S4 (1st model) has a few problems also. Didn't feel as sturdy as the vci 400. If you had the 1st model vci your issue may have been with the mapping or just an adjustment of the jog wheel by either tightening or loosening it (which would be done by going inside the machine to do it instead of the typical way in the back of the unit)
I just ordered mine yesterday. All I have to say is, It better be worth it…. The only two things I wish I could improve before touching it is….Make IT BIGGER (as with all DJ controllers), and I wish it could be a standalone mixer with a booth send… Besides that, I'm quite positive it will surpass my Behringer BCD3000…(
@eangolden hey can I'm not asking you to make another mapping, but i have a numark mix track, i know how to map the jogs for effects but can u pleeeeaaasssee tell me how to create an option to switch them back to normal jogs for scratching and pitch bending on the fly? pleeeaase i would love you for it
wouldnt happen to know where to find a complete owners manual for this would you? Can only seem to find the quickstart manual and the maintanence manual but no in depth manual...I know this is old but fingers crossed thanks
Any chance that DJTT is going to make the custom firmware available for purchase aside from the unit? And will the firmware fix the problems with connectivity for Sony VAIO laptops?
Most DJ software if not all will let you map out what ever you want to ware ever you want on your midi controller so it really comes down to build quality and configuration preference. I prefer larger jog wheels but the rest of the control seems nice.
@envanligfjant I get ya, but custom effects gives a way more live element to DJing than just playing bangers. This sort of setup allows for more creative ideas and styles. I mean, if you're an opening DJ, you can't afford to play massive tracks, so this allows you to have an interesting set at the same times.
i almost bought one for 200, but i got a pioneer DDJ-t1 instead for $318, both are rare so, also i wanted to ask you if you would be makeing a new edition some day and i will buy the newr one for sure please make VCI 400 Ean Golden Edition mk2 ! , with native instrument's come on, do it!
can this be used with the midi fighter pro? becuase with my current mid controller to get my midi fighter to work properly i had to turn off the fx units on my current controller?
ean i would like to know if you guys are selling this same mapping for the regular vci 400 because i allready purchased the original one and didnt know you guys had one with this awesome mapping for traktor!!! im really pissed -___-
@baze523 I'm the complete opposite. I've used the s4 and wasn't impressed, but I love the MC6000. Just depends on what you want I suppose. I like having a booth send and being able to use it as a stand alone mixer.
@rojohacker the MC6000 is not bad but the layout is not very good, the controls are too close together, you got less of them than the VCI-400 and you dont get the crazy eabgolden mapping/firmware
Really nice controller, wouldn't give up my S4 for it, but it's pretty decent. Funny thing is I know I have this track somewhere in my collection but can't remember the name. If anyone could help that'd be great.
@canthaguild it's only 100$ more not double and it's not the same, you don't just get e new design you got a new mapping and most important a special firmware
cool concepts wish the controller was different though, the buttons look clicky hard.and looks crammed and no labels on buttons idk not my kind, stickin with my s2
I would never buy a vci last one I bought was the vci se that thing kept crashing when u use the jog wheel fast it freezes the unit it was untrustworthy to gig live . I spent a lot of money on it too when it first was introduced . so I sold it as much as the vci 400 just get a traktor S4 u won't regret it .and the extra money u save speakers so there u go .
12 years later this is still innovative
The best looking controller on the market by far. The most customizable to any software. Gotta love it.
Damn u guys have outdone yourselves. Since i'm sure they'll all be sold before i can get one, I cant wait to see video's of it in action.
the most accurate review in utub that covers everything
now this is a badass controller that makes life easy
looks cool for a controller. I love how dramatic he is with pushing the buttons haha
Placing order this morning (GMT) so stoked!
I want this thing so bad!!!!! Man is that sick
I can't wait to receive mine!!!

If the price wasn't so high I would definitely get one.
Is this going to be available in the UK, or just from the DJTechTools website?

Got it at $849. BEAUTIFUL CONTROLLER!
Awesome Ean!

Is it possible to order this with different color chroma caps for the EQ's and effect section rather than black?
wouldnt happen to know where to find a complete owners manual for this would you? Can only seem to find the quickstart manual and the maintanence manual but no in depth manual...I know this is old but fingers crossed thanks
this thing fcking kills any other controller i've seen out there! murders the S4 and the DDJ-T1! excellent work @eangolden
For everyone saying it is over priced, the regular vci-400 is 999, so for a hundred dollars more, u get all that.
Any chance that DJTT is going to make the custom firmware available for purchase aside from the unit? And will the firmware fix the problems with connectivity for Sony VAIO laptops?

@ejg182 the original VCI-400 is 999$ so it's only 100$ more or the special edition, it's not that much
the soundcard allows time code? To connect the turntables to use with the timecodes vinyl?
ever notice how much he gets into the movement by the littlest things?
Wow 100% for Mapping Ean G Edition Congratulation
can this be used with the midi fighter pro? becuase with my current mid controller to get my midi fighter to work properly i had to turn off the fx units on my current controller?
Oh question so if i buy this does it come with traktor 2? Or do i have to buy that separate
ean i would like to know if you guys are selling this same mapping for the regular vci 400 because i allready purchased the original one and didnt know you guys had one with this awesome mapping for traktor!!! im really pissed -___-

can the slicer phrase length/slice size be set to use different length slices - ie 1/2 beat slices across 4 beats or 1/4 beat slices across 2 beats?
The first song is:
Felguk vs. Dirtyloud - Nudge (Orginal mix)
Wait so when u buy it, u only get the controller? You have to buy tractor separator?
Found it Felguk vs Dirtyloud - Nudge
2nd one is David Guetta, Nicky Romero - Wild One Two
I have Ean Golden Edition.usb is not reading.Do you know who can fix it?
I have the regaler vci-400 in payed $600, is there a way to get the firmware and mapping thats on the Ean Golden edition??? Thanks

Nice job Shazam !!
@MHFTime uhm hate to burst your bubble but he never mentioned anything about 1100

can you hook a turntable up to this for scratching
what is the track around 1:06 - 1:16?
Can it work with an iPad? I don't have a pc.
@nughaga they just released one like 30 mins ago
got my hopes on it this one
There's software included?
does it come with traktor?
will this be able to run Serato Itch???? Also I know 380 runs on itch will there be a Ean Golden Edition????
@rojohacker the MC6000 is not bad but the layout is not very good, the controls are too close together, you got less of them than the VCI-400 and you dont get the crazy eabgolden mapping/firmware
is it possible to only get the mappings?
how limited is limited... cause I want one but has no monies :(
Priced itself out of the controller market IMO.
The newer models of midi controllers keep coming out & not enough creative DJ's to handle the features so the price will be going down beautifully
where is the Traktor S4 Ean Golden Edition?
Please have the TSI for Traktor
what is the name of the song
lol
Can anyone help with TRACK ID from the last track starting at 4:45 ?
Im sticking with my ddj-t1

cool concepts wish the controller was different though, the buttons look clicky hard.and looks crammed and no labels on buttons idk not my kind, stickin with my s2
$1100 is what i paid for my Kontrol S4. Try living in a country with 25% VAT before you complain :)
I'll be here with my Mixtrack if you need me... If I was gigging at clubs every weekend and making lots of money maybe... This is just WAY to pricey.
3:54 s4 creeping in the back all jealous
Felguk & Dirtyloud - Nudge, your all welcome ;)
