This video helped me make my decision about buying a VCI-400 and I'm glad I did. I've had it for a year now so if you wanna see how it performs I've put up some mix shows called Receiving Transmission. I love this controller.
True :) however, it would be a pain to adjust gain levels for each track in the software. I think the best thing is, to set a low autogain, just to be shure nothing goes in the red inside the software, and then control the gain levels manually on the hardware.
It is normal that the VU meter do not move inside the software, because it is a hardware mixer - they do not move with a DDJ SX either. However, it is possible to adjust the software gain inside serato dj
Love Vestax but you'll be hard pressed to find any future support for your hardware from the company - so in this case, go for the Reloop. Here's our opinion on the Terminal Mix 8: www.digitaldjtips.com/2014/02/review-video-reloop-terminal-mix-8-serato-dj-controller/
I'm a complete beginner. Wich one should I buy? DDJ-WeGo from Pioneer, Hercules 4780729 RMX or Reloop Beatmix 2? I can't decide wich one. Would be proud of an answer. Thanks!
Dj Genius if you look to the left (where on the right side there is the headphone jack), there are 2 adjustment knobs to activate the latency of the jogwheels. If the jogwheel is red then you can turn that 1st knob(for deck a & c), the light will turn blue. The more left you go, the less you're able to use the jogwheel, which would only work to nudge the speed when mixing. Have you also tried: !) pressing the vinyl button next to the jogwheel? 2)slightly pushing the jogwheel down as if you're pressing a button? When I pressed it, it felt as if I unlocked it(it popped up like the potentiometer knob when you're switching to shrink the decks to view just your collection
You can record within the software. There's an cassette icon on the top right side where the efx channel is where you can switch to see the recorder. There is where you can record & the mix will be saved in your music/traktor folder under recordings. Saves it as a wav file
1 very MAJOR problem with any vci 400 with serato Dj sofware that this guy did not mention IS It does not allow you to change the Pitch RANGE on either deck. you always have to sync if its more than +8 pitch witch really sucks. :(
That would be a serato issue. Since you can't map it in serato settings it is impossible to adjust the range of the pitch. He did mention that this controller is open to use with any software though. That would mean that the program has to have mapping option IN the software.

+vintagestereos Awesome :)
I believe it is becoming available shortly.
Also, according to Serato, the metering in the software is technically for the track, not the channel. We asked them.
Never let me down... luv my VCI-400
Beautiful...strongly considering getting this one
The 2 play & cue buttons are actually pretty clever.
Best checking with Vestax, but as far as i know, yes.

Thanks Mix Fiend!
You can also trigger all 4 channels in the play buttons in the VCI400ege , or im i wrong ??
I presume the VCi 380 is a better bet ?? in regards to simplicity
Hi
How do you record a mix as i dont see a rec out, isit done internally via serato DJ ?

is there a pitch range button
How much does it cost

I work with serato but I'm new in this world
Welcome :)
Can you get the mapping for an original vci 400?
There's a bunch to try at traktorbible.com
