If you want to be able to eventually use both Traktor and Serato with one get the VCI 400. Support for Serato DJ is coming for it sometime in 2013, where there just is not much out ther on making the 380 work with Traktor. I love that 400. I recently upgraded from my Denon MC6K (not a real big jump, but a jump never the less). I had the DDJ-SX for a few days and took it back for the VCI. Upgrade the fader to the CF-X2 (see Kareem video on it).
Check that Lil franky joint out. Needing to change it forced me to learn a little about the Control Mapper and how it works. Modifiers, I had a joint with the Denon MC 6K that had Compound Modifiers on it. You click and hold shift then effects one then release shift before releasing effects one and the unit controls effects 3 until the shift button is pressed again
Hey Kareem! Great review! Can you tell me how I would go about connecting vinyl turntables to this controller and use it in a DVS setup? I think you mentioned it briefly near the end of the review :-)
Thanx! So that Means I can play a Track from Both Deck A and Deck B and then Switch to Mixer mode on Deck B to play my CDJ audio source, while Deck B is playing a track, and the music on Deck B doesnt cut off
Hi Kareem, is it still worth buying this controller? i heard that vestax company is out of business? because right now I'm seeing the price of this controller dropped half price and I'm planning of buying it. Thanks
Hey Kareem. Im planning on buying the vci 380 in a week or so. Now ive read alot of bad reviews about the pitch control and i have to ask is it any harder than some 1200s? I mean im fine with riding the joggs and having to touch or nudge a bit. Im hoping these complaints are from ppl who rely way too much on the sync or exact bmp readouts. What do u think?
Hi Kareem, was just wondering if this controller had the function 'tempo reset'? The 300 had the function where if you held shift and pressed auto tempo the tempo of the track would automatically reset as soon as 'auto tempo' was pressed, does the 380 have this function at all? as it is really useful
Question: When switching between the PC to the mixer mode, will the music still play from the deck that you switched the mixer to, or will it cut off that sound source to allow whatever's plugged into the Mixer section on that line (CdJs, Turntable, line source, etc) ???
Serato needs to think a little different in terms of the DJ software (new itch)... Route the Mic signal to a deck, get someone to program the controller to at leat the fullest of the basics. You should be able to shift + jog and scroll the library... but nooo. All those controls on these units and they still want you using the keyboard and mouse...
Hi kareem i'm from jamaica and i was wondering if you would sell me your vci 380 controller please i'm desperate its the only dj controller i like and most website i saw it on wont ship to jamaica ..
It does... I'm trying to find a good map. I downloaded a joint off of Traktor Bible made by a Lil Franky... Nice, much nicer than the stock map, but it's tailored for the maker. Seeing as I'm not really good in controller manager, but I appreciate what's being shared out there. Speaking of sharing, you mind sharing your map with me? if not, gbrown44@gmail and salute DJ!
Oh yeah - First to ha scene! Really sick controller Blaze but do you think a 4 channel version is down the pipeline? I cant do with just 2

No, I don't... The vestax website is gone now...
