Each diagnosis is different but following the basics, scan the topology, check powers, grounds and communications will get you the information you need to proceed further if necessary.
Nice fix man! I find looking at the power distribution and ground distribution is a bit easier to follow. But either way you got it handled. Thanks for sharing!
Internal Fuel pump relay failed on my 2003 expedition went to autozone to get one of those relays, wired everything up and truck wouldn’t start, turns out brand new out of the box relay did not work, got a carquest branded one from advance that one worked like a charm.
Oz I have a 06 300c with stalling issue with codes u0100 and p0700 I’ve changed immobilizer and cam position sensor and drive with no issue for 30+ hours and now it’s going the same thing do you have any advice or videos on this issue? It’s been a huge nightmare
Knowing the brand of relay was bad I wish you would have diagnosed the bad repay switch circuit showing the power was not passing through or the control coil was not working, etc?
One thing missing. With all those replaced parts and no coms how did you or previous guys programmed it in and added the vin and key? It's not just a swap plug and play, or did I miss something?
As an automotive locksmith and 1 minute in this why I do things as I do and make customers mad. I tell them we open cars and make lost keys period. I do not and will diagnose any other kind of immo issue. Customers ask us to just come out and make a new key. I always ask if we make a key which I don't believe is your problem and it doesn't solve your issue are you still going to pay us? They think I'm crazy for asking that. I explain to them they diagnosed the issue and asked for a key so we need to get paid period. They 100% decline and I always tell them to take it to a mechanic. I thankfully never hear from them again. They are just trouble.
@@OzMechanicsI get these kinds of calls weekly. I explain keys either work or they don't. They aren't intermittent. They never believe me on this either. People get mad after they say 100% it's the key and we make a new key then all the sudden omg I'm down a few hundred can you give me a break. Why because you diagnosed your own vehicle and don't know what you are doing and I come out spend my time and give you a new key and now you see the problem is something else you want a break. It doesn't work that way. People need to see that if you lose your key you call a locksmith but if the car just stops working call a mechanic. 😂
@@jorgemat8080Wow I thought I was the only one to get these idiots. I turn them down because I know where it's going to go. I ask them why they get so mad at me. Thanks for bringing that up. I did a revised video where I did some repairs on the video and I fixed and uploaded. Buuuuut I just realized I didn’t upload the right one on RUclips :( the relay I changed out was the starter relay. And also the other mistake is I accidentally put done on a text on the video and it was supposed to say down. I dont want to pull this video because it would lose traction if I change it.
When left to their own, many people will buy the $6 relay before a $20 relay. They also won't know that NEW does NOT mean it works, and they have no idea how to test it.

He also has a youtube channel

That relay kit is a real time saver. Good job.
Man I love that kit. Put a link on the description and comments if you want to get one yourself
A true mechanic. Love people who pull out schematics and wire diagrams.
Smooth. Sometimes you need to step back and check the small things. Especially when it comes to the electrical system. Nice catch and fix.

nice one . It's crazy how people just throw parts. The 7th pcm didn't fix it ?? it needs a 8th pcm lol
Bro… I had a fun one that had a ghost misfire. And a threw a big curve ball
@@OzMechanics sometimes I can't decide if figuring out a problem is fun or frustrating 🤣
How do you hook up your scanner to the laptop
My next step would to rescan for codes since there was communication.

I haven’t fully learned a breakout box, but could that have helped to check power and ground to the computer too using a different approach?
The break out box is only showing the power and grounds attached to the obd port
@@OzMechanics Ahh, OK, thanks for the explanation.

I made a revised part of the video where I explain that the car doesn’t have the vin because it never communicated. So the module was never programmed
@@OzMechanics got it.

He will soon he’s just recovering from his sex change …… jk we just made a video a couple of weeks ago. And he’s editing it as we speak
The problem is that you don't have the correct relay, you need the STRAT relay they call out in the wiring LOL... Just tuned wrong...
