Sad to see the Broadway production go. On a different note, the tempo of the songs are a little faster than the Royal Albert Hall version, which makes it feel like they are rushing it.

Pretty much the same as London. There were no hair style changes to Christine though, and the proscenium angel was still there.
You guys still got doubles going into the stage and over the bridge during the title song?

@@kaitlynrowena5463 I was there last night. I don't think so. The phantom pulls Christine through mirror faster now, the doubles into the trap in the stage are gone. Now we have Raoul, Giry and the ballet girls crossing downstage in front of the dressing room set before the travelator descends. I think the travelator angles/travel path has been reprogrammed and it's the real actors for all 3 passes. This was the biggest change and I hated it passionately.
That’s exactly the change we have here and I’m still not sure how I feel about it, I loved seeing them go into the trap door on stage it was so cool

I miss the days before it was acceptable for women to scream “WHEEEEEWWW!!!!!! in a Broadway theatre. It’s not a rock concert, you rubes.
How about you let us celebrate the return of the longest running show on broadway, huh? Let’s not put others down, because last night was a great night, everyone did the same. Be glad theatre is back.
It’s the return of Broadway’s longest running show after being closed for 588 days due to a global pandemic. If they weren’t cheering at this performance I’d think something was wrong. Also, a good deal of that audience was Broadway actors. Lin Manuel Miranda, Sierra Boggess, Kaley Ann Voorhees, Jay Armstrong Johnson, etc. If they are cheering and work in the business, it was more than acceptable to do so for that performance. This isn’t how the audience is going to be every night lol.
I bet you’re the kind of person who doesn’t think it’s acceptable to have a rave outside the theater to celebrate a historic reopening either. Also it wasn’t just women cheering, it was men and non binarys too, so please take your sexist insults and go somewhere else. We were just trying to support the cast and crew.
It’s a reopening after 500+ days if this is too much for you to handle don’t watch reopening videos like this and move to a library.
What did you expect? This is a literal reopening of one of the biggest Broadway musicals in the world, so of course people are gonna cheer a little more than usual.
